He came to flip houses. She’s about to flip his whole world…
When Evan Hollander buys a portfolio of unperforming assets in the shifter town of Greysden, he figures it’s a good way to add to his fortune. He’ll do what he always does… swoop in, oversee some minor repairs, then sell it all for a hefty profit. What he didn’t expect was that the town’s only real estate broker would wage an all-out campaign against him.
Delilah Frost has one mission in preserving Greysden’s small town charm. Well making money so she can maintain her independence. A shrewd businesswoman with a heart of gold and a secret love of romance books, she’s not going to let some city wolf like Evan destroy the mostly blue collar town she calls home. There’s just one Delilah’s wolf is convinced that the grumpy guy from the city is her mate. And judging by the way Evan keeps staring at her, his wolf agrees. Now if they could just keep their paws off each other…
“Grumpy Wolf” is a steamy midlife enemies-to-lovers grumpy sunshine paranormal romantic comedy. Expect a sassy woman, a jaded millionaire businessman who falls first, and a town full of nosy matchmakers determined to help everyone find true love.
This book is part of the "Bite-Sized Shifters” series, paranormal romantic comedies you can read in just a few hours. Each book in the series is standalone featuring a mature couple, steamy scenes, a lot of fur and claws, and a guaranteed HEA.
I really enjoyed this one! Grumpy Wolf is one of those quick reads where I thought I was just getting something fun and spicy, but there’s actually a little more going on under the surface than I thought there would be.
Evan comes into Greysden thinking he’s about to make easy money flipping properties and Delilah basically says absolutely not and makes it her mission to shut him down. She does not play about her town and I loved that energy so much. Delilah was a force. She built everything she has from nothing, she’s stubborn as hell, and she refuses to just roll over even when her wolf identifies Greysden as her mate. Watching her fight that pull was so good. Evan surprised me though. I fully expected to hate him longer than I did, but once he realizes what his work is actually doing to people, he does try to fix it. It happens a little fast, but for a shorter book it still worked. Their relationship is chaotic as hell. The mate bond came up quickly and once it does there’s really no going back. They’re arguing one second and all over each other the next. The tension between them is constant and not subtle at all.
I also really liked that the town actually mattered. Everyone is in everyone’s business, people are meddling, and the whole situation with protecting the community was great. The third act situation annoyed me a little and had me yelling at my Kindle for them to please just communicate. Spoiler- it does get resolved and I ended up being fine with how it all played out. This was a fun novella that was super easy to read, entertaining the whole way through, and definitely one of those books you can just sit down and fly through. I recommend it!
This is a fun and quirky read about two stubborn people that don’t want change in their life. Delilah and Evan are both serious and intense and are hyper focused on being successful. I love the chain reaction when they both interrupt each other’s lives. It’s funny as both don’t realise that the thing they want most is right in front of them. This read is both sweet, funny with a heavy dash of spice.
Evan and Delilah are wolf shifters and fated mates who start as enemies, but by the end, they get their happy ever after. He's a business developer who flips properties for profit, and she's a real estate broker who loves Greysden's small town charm. This is a fun Bite Sized Shifters paranormal romance with fun banter, great characters, steam, and a great ending. Grumpy Wolf is book ten and a wonderful addition to the series. This was a wonderful blend of characters and plot. Evan and Delilah's chemistry was fire as they could not resist the pull of fate. It was a fun filled wolf shifter romance I just could not put down.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Delilah and Evan. The fast-paced story keeps us turning the pages with instant connection, denial, realizations and steam.

This story has a lot of tropes in it - fated mates, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, miscommunication - but somehow it all comes together to make it into a great story that left me smiling at the end.

This was a cute and fun read. Delilah and Evan started off as enemies when they first met but they actually had a lot in common and their chemistry was explosive when they weren't trying to resist the bond.
