This is book 2 of a new series written by 6 different authors and the second one I have read and is as excellent as the first one! This series revolves around 6 siblings and each book is one of their stories. This book is Catherine’s story who is the eldest of the sisters of clan MacDonald. After refusing to join the Pact of Argyll and outbidding the other Lairds for his wife, Lilian, Torr’s list of enemies grew longer. To protect his sister’s and keep them safe from the war he felt coming, he decided it was best to send them to stay with his best friend Laird Aidan Cameron. But before they could board his Berlin that was waiting in the loch their way was blocked by Laird Edwin MacLeod who was delusional in thinking that Catherine was his betrothed and demanded that she go with him. Catherine had no intention of becoming Edwin’s bride and informed him that she was not his betrothed and a fight ensued where Edwin’s men tried to drag Catherine into the waiting carriage. Laird Cameron managed to free her but Edwin escaped and as they boarded his Berlin and they sailed away he knew that they hadn’t seen the last of Edwin MacLeod and that war would be coming to his lands! This is an excellent well written book that keeps you reading right to the end and leads you perfectly into the next book in this series. You won’t want to miss it and I highly recommend reading them in order! Cherie
Aidan Cameron has taken on the responsibility of keeping the MacDonald sisters safe while their brothers face off with an enemy. but their safety has not come easy. Between Catherine’s stubborn, aggressive, defiant temper and her unwanted suitor, life Achnacarry has been a challenge. Beneath the hostility between Catherine and Aidan, something else is brewing. But with war on the horizon, Catherine’s brothers to tend to, and a forbidden passion between them, things are getting very interesting. My challenge with the book was Catherine herself. I found her defiant, hostile, aggressive, stubborn and unlikeable for the first half of the book.
An incredibly exciting and interesting story! When they butted heads sparks would fly. Very exciting!! The adventure and battle was really exciting. No battle is ever as exciting as when love is involved. The characters were awesome. Thanks for sharing an incredible love story!!!
I liked her defiant and stubborn attitude in life when most women had little say in their lives. I was drawn to this book as soon as Aidan saw her at the party. It's amazing how conniving and possessive some men can be (Edwin.) It's interesting to watch how their love grows. The extended epilogue is a great finish. Loved it.
Excellent story of how a lass can be stubborn enough to defy a Laird. When danger comes she doesn't back away. This series is one to read all in a row. Love it!
