♫⋆。♪ ₊˚♬゚.♫⋆。♪ ₊˚♬゚.♫⋆。♪ ₊˚♬゚.♫⋆。♪ ₊˚♬゚.

I just want to start by saying I'm so proud of Saumya for publishing this book, she's so sweet and talented. I love the dedication omg! I also love the cover! It was hard to put down and when I did I quickly wanted to pick it back up. I loved the writing style. It was so unique. I loved how adoption wasn't seen as a negative thing like it's so often depicted, it was seen as a wonderful thing and Lainey and AmyBeth had a wonderful mother daughter relationship.

this book had me giggling, smiling, and even crying

I loved Lainey and Cooper's little romance because it was so sweet and wholesome. I also loved Paisleigh and Carter's for the same reasons. Now if I were to pick a favorite character it would have to be… Paisleigh… and Lainey… and Cooper and ok Logan too and maybe Carter I loved those five! This book has something for everyone: a little bit of romance, some suspense and mystery, family drama, Friendship, etc.

I would say if you like any of the above things you should read this. And it's free on Kindle unlimited so what are you waiting for? And the best part? You can read this at any time of the year because it has Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentine's Day, America's Independence Day, everything! I also really liked the setting: a small town in New York state, NYC, and New Zealand. Also I had trouble sleeping because I was just thinking about this wonderful unique book.

This book, while short, did not feel rushed nor underdeveloped in any way. If Saumya writes anything else in the future you know I will be reading it. Ok maybe I should shut up about this now sorry for yapping lol.

TL;DR I loved: the characters, the plot, the mystery, the little bit of romance, the friendships, everything!

The characters

Lainey ~ I loved her and I would definitely be friends with her.

Paisleigh ~ I loved her. She is an aspiring author! An was so sweet and is also a swiftie. Can I be friends with her as well please?

Kimber ~ I didn't really like her… like at ALL.

AmyBeth ~ she was a really good adoptive mother to Lainey. And overall a great character

Charlotte ~ I really liked her. It was so fun seeing how her brain worked as a lawyer.

Logan ~ I loved him, he was great!

Quotes
~~~~~~~
(Sorry there are a lot, I love this book!)
“This whole situation is simply just too much to think about. And now I'm 30,000 feet in the air, and they are 6 feet underground, and one day I will be too.”
“If revenge is a dish best served cold, they'd better be scared now, because I’m a great cook and I’ve got a brand-new freezer just begging to be used right now. Rest assured, I’m not afraid to use it.”
“It’s nice to escape to the world in my head, because even though there are tragedies there every once in a while, everything always comes together. There are no guarantees for that in real life. But sometimes I do feel like even though the worlds in my head are more magical (literally and figuratively), some little moments in real life make it so beautiful.”
“I want to find me a boy like that. But you know what? I’m just fine for right now. You know how Elizabeth the First said she was already married to the Kingdom of England? Well, I’ll always consider writing as my first love.”
“I just hope that one day I’ll hold the privilege of knowing all his little quirks and funny stories better than anyone else because we’ll be happily married. Just like how my parents were.”
“This whole ordeal already brought Lainey and me a bit closer, so maybe, just maybe, fate will bring us even closer through our parents’ work. I don’t know, just a thought. Just a really pleasant thought.”
This was adorable! It was sweet and clean, although I personally had a little trouble following so many characters in the format it’s set up, it didn’t detract from the story. Definitely going onto my top 10 of 2026 though! Congrats Saumya for writing such a cute and good book 👏🏼 can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
