This book was very interesting to me personally for a good reason. As I read this book, I could only think about myself and how this relates to me in so many ways. He was a freshman football player that had played football his whole life and was liked by most of the team by the end of the season. Although, it was very similar to every other sports book out there, where an underdog goes to the top of the team and ends up being the MVP in the championship or something. I enjoyed this book overall because of this though.

The book Freshman Flash by Mike Boushell was a pretty good book. I prefer reading a simple book and Freshman Flash certainly wasn’t a difficult book to read. I especially liked this book because I could relate to the main character. Like Danny Cannon, I too was a freshman playing high school football. At times it was very tough playing against older classmates. However after practice, most of the upperclassmen would treat you almost like family. It was a nice experience reading a book that I could relate to. Mike Boushell also did a great job of describing what it would be like being a star football player in the freshman year of high school. It really made me think and wonder about how awesome it would be to be a great freshman ball player. Another positive aspect of the book was having the feeling, as I've read, that I was in the actual football games. The author almost made it seem like you were right there watching over Danny Cannon.

I enjoyed this a lot actually, I think this is the best of the three books I read from Mike Boushell. He is a great writer, he describes every event like he is actually there watching it. Reading about the way Danny Cannon has to go through things as a freshmen, I can really relate. You are playing with/ around a bunch of upperclassmen, and they are bigger older and know they are too. Danny has to go through a lot as a freshmen playing on the varsity football team for Rockland. I really love Mike Boushell's books, I think he should do more like these.
