I requested this book through outerloan since it was not owned in my library system and I am very glad I did as I enjoyed the book. I have always enjoyed Kristofferson's music though found it sort of ironic that in recent years establishment country music is now claiming him as their own when for so many years he was unacceptable to them. Glad that they had to change because certainly Kris has always been his own person. While you do get background on his personal life this book is more about the music, its themes and times. All I know is I had to pull out some of my old vinyl and listen to him again!
A solid discussion of Kristofferson's career - mostly the music, but with mentions of the movies too. Not a bio, more a critical essay in book-length form. Worth reading if you're a fan, or want to know why his early work (in particular) was so special.
