10/31/25 I liked this more than I expected - and would read another book by the author. FL did get a little annoying, but then, she was exactly who she was supposed to be. Not exactly my preferred personality type, but it's fun to read someone a bit different sometimes. A teeny bit torn between 3 and 4 stars but ... it'd be like 3.5 really. They don't exactly have a re... well they do but don't - like in the back of my head I did consider "is there really ... consent here?" since she's given no choice and selected as a bedchamber maid - granted she's totally lusting after him from go.
They are cute and sweet together but he has too much fun ~scaring her. I did like how they talked and such - maybe I'm too influenced by the second life where to start out he was NOT as sweet - though the first life he started out worse with the "I was planning on killing you." Granted for good reason cuz ... she really was instructed by so many people to try to assassinate him.
It's a bit of a fun turn your brain off read. And some spiciness too, which was nice. [Too tired; thoughts scattered]
