Disaffected Patriots: London Supporters of Revolutionary America, 1769-1782

Disaffected Patriots sets out to trace the composition, activities, and motivation of a group of Londoners who were sympathetic to the colonial cause during the period of the American Revolution. This study attempts, not merely to set the record straight, but also to provide an original perspective on the character of popular disaffection in eighteenth-century London.

All the political infighting goodness. I was sorry I didn't finish this book earlier to add it more fully into my paper for grad school. Fantastic read and a very interesting look at what/who the colonies were trying to get support from. The interplay between the Rockingham, Chatham and Wilkite opposition factions and the politics that kept them from forming an effective opposition during most of the conflict was extremely interesting, although this book focuses mostly on the London/Wilkite faction.
