I'm trying to be objective, but I honestly can't. seeing Julia's vision fully realized in Through the Veil... I am absolutely blown away.
This isn't just a book; it's a breathtaking, fully-formed reality. The sheer scope of the world she's built on the other side of the 'Veil' is stunning—so intricate and yet it feels completely real. It's the kind of story that not only transports you but changes how you see the world you return to. I’ve read a lot of fantasy, but Julia’s characters don’t just walk through the plot, they breathe life into it. The protagonist is complex, and utterly captivating—I was physically clutching my audio e-reader during their darkest moments.
I'm not just proud of my old friend; I'm proud to have witnessed the debut of an author who is poised to redefine her genre. Julia McTrill, you’ve exceeded my wildest expectation. Stop what you’re doing and read this. You will thank me later.
