She built her life to prove him wrong. The life he thought he wanted means nothing without her.
When overworked investment banker Lucas Porter takes a detour through his Brooklyn Heights neighborhood one winter evening, the last thing he expects is to glimpse Bella Quinn—the girl he once loved and lost—through the window of a cozy flower shop. In a city glowing with holiday lights, the sight of her stops him cold.
Years ago, Lucas broke Bella’s heart with a single careless she wasn’t ambitious enough for his world. Now she’s everything he said she should be—successful, admired, and in demand—but her dazzling new life leaves her lonelier than ever.
Determined to earn a second chance, Lucas begins sending anonymous Juliet roses, peppermint hot chocolate, the new Christmas release by her favorite author, each one a message from the man who never stopped remembering. As Christmas fades into New Year’s Eve, his quiet gestures rekindle something in Bella she thought had long since wilted.
But when the truth comes out and old wounds resurface, forgiveness might be the only gift that can bring them together again—just in time for a midnight kiss beneath the New York sky.
Can two star crossed lovers have a second chance for a great love that was thrown away years ago? Have their goals and personalities changed enough to mesh now in the present day?
The First Last Kiss answers these questions and more as the reader gets to enjoy a romantic New York Christmas season. Lucas catches sight of Bella years after breaking her heart. He starts wooing her again but she's not sure she wants to open her heart to him after what he did.
This beautiful, romantic story is the perfect book to read now for a nice little treat during this busy month. The First Last Kiss is another great story by the wonderful Ashley Farley. I have loved all of her books and this is one you that will want to read as soon as you can!
I just read the book that made my whole holiday season! It is Ashley Farley’s new book entitled The First Last Kiss. Oh my goodness…this book made this old lady swoon! You already know that I love anything by Ashley Farley but of all of her books, I think this is my favorite. It only took me a couple of hours to read and I think this might be the book I read every Christmas time! I also don’t re-read books so now you know how special this book is. I’m in love with it!
First of all, she has a series that I even missed reading the first book. Don’t ask me how. I just did. The series is When Sparks Fly. The first one is Cupid’s Count Down, book two is Messy Under the Mistletoe which I read and reviewed. Now this fabulous new book The Last First Kiss is so embedded in my heart. I just finished it this morning and I feel a little bit lost. I want so much more time with these wonderful characters.
Bella is the one that Lucas broke up with because he didn’t feel like she was ambitious enough for him. He goes on to become successful and she lives her life proving she can be just as successful. Neither one of them are happy when their paths cross again. Can Bella forgive Lucas for breaking her heart? Can Lucas go on knowing that Bella was the woman for him? Ah my friends, you have to read this book for yourself to find out.
I will tell you that this is possibly the most romantic book I have ever read! That is saying a lot since I love a good romance. In my opinion, this book is a must read and deserves to be on your nightstand. Get yourself a warm cup of tea and go snuggle up in bed with Ashley Farley’s The First Last Kiss! You will have some wonderful dreams. Until next time… Happy Reading!

Lucas and Bella fell in love in college. When it was time for graduation, she expected a proposal but instead he broke up with her. He had big plans for his future and didn't feel that she was ambitious enough for the world that he envisioned. Years later, he saw her in a florist shop in NYC and realized that she was successful, admired, and in demand and owned the florist shop. He had started questioning the life that he wanted in the future and was beginning to think that becoming successful might not be worth it if he didn't have time to enjoy life. Once he saw Bella, he started thinking of ways to get her back. He sent roses, hot chocolate and a book that he knew she'd enjoy to her anonymously. But when the truth comes out and old wounds resurface, forgiveness might be the only gift that can bring them together again—just in time for a midnight kiss beneath the New York sky. Is there anything that can bring them together before New Year's Eve? Will they get their happily ever after?
You can always depend on Ashley Farley to give you a story with interesting and well written characters and a story that keeps you turning pages while you hope that they find love the second time around.
It’s been nine years since Lucas broke Bella’s heart. He went on to work in finance and she built a successful floral business. However neither married, nor seem happy. Then one day by chance, Lucas sees Bella in her shop. As he stands outside in the cold he wonders if he could ever win her trust again and give him a second chance. Then he has an idea! An uplifting, wonderful holiday novella of a second chance, great characters, a little magic that leads to a last first kiss and a happy forever after. Thank you to the author for the early copy of this book without remuneration. This review is my personal opinion.
I absolutely loved this festive little novella from Ashley Farley! It’s a warm, cozy, twinkle-light kind of love story about two people daring to take a second chance at happily ever after. The characters hook you from the very first page, and before you know it, you're completely wrapped up in their world. By the time I reached the end, I was wishing for just a few more chapters because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye! A delightful, heart-hugging read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.
"Some people are fine with temporary. Some of us want something that lasts-something that is meant to be."
Fans of Ashley Farley's writing are the kind of people who want to read about love that is "Meant to Be". The First Last Kiss is that kind of read. It is short read about 2 flawed characters looking for a second chance at love! There's a touch of magic, as well.
If you love holiday romances, this is the perfect read for you!
A New Year's novella set in NYC, yes please!! This was probably my favorite of the holiday short stories from Ashley Farley. There's just something magical about Christmas and New Year's in NYC. I'm normally not big on second chances when it comes to romance, but this one works well for me. Thank you Ashley Farley for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The First Last Kiss is the perfect holiday read. This novella is set in New York City and 2 people looking for second chances. Ashley Farley brings the magic of the season once again. This is a fun short sweet read that just makes the holidays special. Just loved reading this. Thank you, Ashley Farley for this enjoyable ARC read.
Once again Ashley, you've roped me in and I couldn't be happier! Lucas and Bella finding each other again is a dream so many exes have. Love the secret elf, and the mysterious officer that shows up at the end, was he really there???

I could read more about these two characters!!! Ashley built up these characters so well…I need to hear more!!! Hope Ashley Farley writes more about them!
This was my favorite book in this series. It was so romantic, heartfelt and sweet. Wonderful story for the holidays. It really put a smile on my face. Best happily ever after ending. Loved it!! Highly recommend!!
Absolutely loved this Rom-Com! There was only one thing I wish it had been longer. But this short read was nothing but amazing! But then again, a book by Ashley Farley is always amazing. I have read all of her books, and I haven't once not liked them.
The author has a way of weaving a wonderful story that keeps you reading until the next thing you know you are on the last page. I love her writing and most of her books are in the Low Country which holds a special place in my heart.
What can I say about Bella and Lucas, they are perfect for each other. But 9 years ago, Lucas chose his career over Bella. Fast forward 9 years later and Lucas sees Bella again from afar. And he realizes that he made a big mistake. Will Lucas win Bella back or is Bella to hurt? I'm not going to ruin the story for you, but I highly suggest you read this book. It's a short read 114 pages. You won't regret reading this book and it will stay with you for a long time.
Highly recommend! And if you haven't read any other books by Ashley Farley then I suggest you get to your nearest bookstore, library or computer and start reading her books. Again you won't regret it one bit.
Short, sweet holiday romance. A Novella set in my favorite City, New York. Two flawed characters looking for a second chance at love. NYC is so magical during the holidays. Ashley Farley brought the magic of the season and the feel of NYC alive.
I received an ARC prior to publication and decided to voluntarily review it.
Ashley Farley has once again delivered a heartfelt, charming story that lingers long after the final page. The First Last Kiss is a tender story of love, resilience, and second chances, written with the kind of emotional honesty that makes you feel as though you’re living alongside the characters. Lucas and Bella hadn’t seen each other for nine years after their break-up. Lucas chose his career over the relationship he had with Bella. Both still single, with successful careers, Lucas begins to think he made a huge mistake choosing his career over his beloved Bella. With Christmas fast approaching, he decides to create some holiday cheer similar to a secret Santa for unsuspecting Bella. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into the lives of people who felt real. Ashley Farley’s gift lies in her ability to weave everyday moments into something extraordinary, reminding us that love often arrives in unexpected ways and at unexpected times. I felt the feeling of warmth while reading this heartfelt story. It’s the kind of book that makes you smile, along with a renewed belief in the power of love. If you’re looking for a novel that will touch your heart and stay with you, The First Last Kiss is a beautiful choice. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.
