The Greatest Album of All time - Period.

What is remarkable about this album is its warmth, beauty, elegance, intellectual lyrics and the tapestry of layers in Hill honey roasted voice. It is a concept album about love essentially - from it's opening song Lost Ones - a hard hitting hip hop hymn, to its final installment, a hidden track, that showcases Hill's liquid vocals, entitled Tell Him - Love is under the microscope.

The intro opens with the school bell ringing for registration. The teacher begins taking the register and gets to Hill's name. Upon calling out her name numerous times it becomes apparent that she has ditched school - thus the Miseducation. The rest of the album is peppered with interludes between a teacher and his pupil discussing the subject of love. A lesson Ms. Hill is trying to express she never had. Or did she?

The album is a plethora of styles, from Hiphop to soul, Jazz to funk, reggae to gospel, Latino to classical and everything in between. Her lyrical content merely further demonstrates this electic range, from discussion of relationship breakdowns,(ex-factor, I used to love him) motherhood, (to zion) the purpose of art, (superstar), ego (final hour, lost one) God and religion, (tell him, forgive them father), betrayal (when it hurts so bad) to nostalgic reminiscing and the pillow talk of lovers (every ghetto, every city, nothing even matter).

It in some senses seems that Hill's Miseducation plays more like a philosophical inquiry into love in its many dimensions.

This is a truly remarkable collection of songs - however, one track that shines bright is track four; it is an eloquent lullaby she sings to her son, entitled - To Zion

"how beautiful if nothing more, than to wait at Zions door. I've never been in love like this before"

With such penetrating and honest lyrics as these, one begins to question just what her miseducation actually is.

Other gems on the album include the piano driven Ex-Factor - an immediate classic breakup anthem.

The Bob Marley influenced "Forgive them Father" is an excellent sermon, infused with echoing horns and punchy bass.

The eerie ending of the hard hitting hiphop of Final Hour is haunting, as Hill delicately warns of the impending end.

And the final track - Tell Him, is a, ingenius conclusion to Ms. Hills miseducation of love as she delivers a hymn to God any staunch Presbytery would be proud to sing on Sunday. The song is a retelling (at times, almost word for word) of the famous scripture in the Bible concerning the spiritual gift of Love 1 Corinthians chapter 13.

This album is a masterpiece that has not only sold millions of copies all around the globe, but also won countless awards, and critical acclaim alike.

For me it is an album that you can feel the love emanate from. It will forever remain the greatest album in recorded history in my mere opinion.

Listen and Learn.
