Wrath of Amara

Rate this book
They thought breaking her once was enough.

They were wrong.

Amara Thorne is no longer the woman she once was. Love has complicated her. Loss has hardened her. And the truth about her past is beginning to surface in ways she couldn't begin to imagine, let alone control.

When everything she has built is threatened, Amara is forced to step fully into the parts of herself she has spent her life denying. The parts that know how to move in the shadows.

Enemies close in. Loyalties fracture. And the lines between love, power, and violence blur beyond recognition.

As Amara is pushed toward a reckoning she cannot escape, she must decide how far she is willing to go for the people she loves… and what she is willing to become to keep them.

Wrath of Amara is the explosive follow-up to Mark of Amara. A dark romantic suspense novel featuring vengeance, covert warfare, emotional betrayal, morally grey love, and a heroine who no longer asks for permission to survive.

Vengeance rises out of darkness.

This book was totally different from book 1, Amara evolved into an absolute badass and I am here for it! Caleb goes through the unimaginable trauma this time round and honestly HEA or not I couldnt get into the love triange everyone seemed to be totally fine with! Caleb deserved to have his girl to himself, I was so dissapointed in Knight and Amara, and for how much Caleb & Amara fought to get each other back this was a turn that confused me! I did love the other plot twists and there were a few that really surprised me which is always good! This book has a lot of action, plot twists and a really amazing Female villian!

OMFG!!!! I am so lucky to have got this book as an ARC reader! I was so excited when it arrived and it did not disappoint! the twists the turns. I absolutely devoured this book within hours! i dont want to give spoilers but the way Amara deals with everything that is thrown at her is amazing, the love, the loss, the revenge! I dont think anyone would survive. And let's talk about the men, I wish I had one just like them! morrally gray but would burn the world for her! this book is absolutely fantastic and when E.J.Whitehead brings out another book ill be first in line!

I read the first book of this series and I’ve been absolutely obsessed since! I have been counting down the days until release, and it did NOT disappoint when it arrived. Wrath of Amara is explosive, it went in directions I did not see coming and was absolutely edge of seat reading. Love the way it’s written, love the characters and love how it made me cry. Everything about it perfection! I really hope this author keep writing because I really have loved her books so far

This book gives you equal parts obsession, trauma and twisted romance - I couldn’t put it down.

Well first of all this book made me laugh, it made me cry and made me physically gasp out loud and made my partner look at me as if I was a mad woman. The plot twists were insane and kept me on my toes throughout the book and made me want to scream and cry. It very much almost ruined me!!

Nothing in this book was accidental and everything was placed there to get you hot under the collar, to give the shock factor and make you question everything you already thought about characters you knew from book one and also introduced new characters to the mix to build up the suspense and character relationships.

I genuinely could not put this book down, it took me two days to read but that is only because I had to force myself to put it down and go to bed on the first night I started to read it, even so I did finish the book at 2am in the morning the next day.

Do not walk, but run to get this book as soon as you can.

I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was truly amazing.

Wrath of Amara was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was worried, happy, scared, and shocked throughout the whole book. It is a perfect ending to Amara's story and I couldn't have asked for a better sequel to Mark of Amara. I cried (a lot) and texted the street team begging for a happy ending and answers to my many questions (also quite a bit) which were all answered at some point in the book. Honestly, I loved this book so, so much and couldn't recommend it more.
Also, a huge thanks to Emma for the opportunity to be an ARC reader and the opportunity to be on the Street Team. 💕

The Wrath of Amara was so good! It answered a lot of questions I had from Mark of Amara and answered questions I didn’t even know I had! Found family with fierce FMCs who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and save themselves is one of my all time favorite plots! This book has it all! Heartfelt moments along with heartbreaking times. Hilarious times to brutal battles. Don’t even get me started on the plot twists I never saw coming!

I didn’t expect Wrath of Amara to be this good. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it threw in more twists and turns—and the spice was next-level 🔥🔥🔥

I can’t overstate how excited I was for this. After reading the first book last year & being completely hooked, my anticipation was sky-high—and Wrath of Amara delivered on every level. From moments that made me laugh out loud to scenes that completely wrecked me emotionally, this story is relentless in the best way.

The tension builds steadily as secrets begin to surface, & once the plot shifts into motion, it doesn’t slow down. Amara is an incredible character to follow—focused, composed, and quietly powerful. Watching her channel pain into determination makes for a gripping & emotional journey.

This is one of those books where you don’t just read the story—you live it. EJ Whitehead’s writing pulls you in so completely that you feel like you’re right beside the characters, sharing their fear, love & desperation. Amara is pushed far beyond her limits & you feel every step of that journey with her.

The story balances its darkness with elements of healing, intense sexual tension & why choose dynamics that add depth rather than distraction. Relationships are layered, complicated & emotionally charged, making every interaction feel meaningful and high-stakes.

The emotional weight only grows heavier as the story unfolds. Relationships are tested, loyalties are strained, and nothing feels safe or guaranteed. Even knowing a devastating moment was coming didn’t soften the blow—it still left me in tears.

Subtle shifts in behavior, unspoken tension & evolving bonds are some of the book’s strongest elements, and just when you think you understand what’s happening, another curveball changes everything. By the final stretch, I was emotionally spent, fully invested & glued to the pages.

Wrath of Amara is dark, intense & beautifully unapologetic. It explores healing alongside heartbreak, desire alongside destruction & the bonds we don’t always see until they’re tested. We were promised a darker story. The author did not👏🏼 hold👏🏼 back👏🏼. This book consumed me, and I’m still thinking about it.
