About the author

Dr. Campbell specializes in nineteenth-century U.S. and Atlantic History. Before joining the faculty at NU Dr. Campbell was a lecturer (Assistant Professor) in American studies at the University of Wales, Swansea (now Swansea University). Growing up in Southern Africa, Canada and the United Kingdom, Dr. Campbell completed his Ph.D. in History at the University of Cambridge, his M.A. in History at the University of Toronto and his B.A. in History and English Literature at Queen’s University, Canada.
