Alexandria Mae is a new romance author who loves all the steamy romances with the happily ever after they all deserve.
She promises that all her books will have HEAs, even after all the trauma she makes her characters deal with. After reading so many romances, she has finally decided to take the leap and write her own. When she is not writing, you can find her reading romance books or cuddling her pup.
Let me just start by saying, I almost finished this book in one sitting. The characters were absolutely adorable. I love the mental health rep this book had. It wasn't an overwhelming thing but it got the point around. I did miss the Dual POV, I would've love to hear Alex's thoughts. You follow Scottie and Alex, as Alex is new to the company. There is palpable chemistry between the two but there is a missing detail when they first communicate. It was so fun seeing it unravel and don't get me started on the nosey coworkers!! 🤣
Do not let the cute and sweet cover of this book trick you! My Snowflake Sweetheart is full of romance, spice, and heat. Alexandria Mae has a knack in bringing two characters together that feels natural and organic. Her stories flow so well you forget you’re reading. It’s more like getting to know two new friends vs reading about fictional characters. And while the story definitely starts off more physical, the emotional depth does happen. It happens quietly, but meaningful.
Scottie is a character that I immediately resonated with. Having my own battle with depression, I could easily empathize with her and everything she is going through. It is clear that Alexandria did her research and truly wrote her in a very real way. I love her! When she is mistaken for a man, something she’s used to due to her name, she finds herself rooming with a male co-worker at a work retreat. Yet this co-worker is more than she thought.
Alex, while surprised to discover Scottie is a female, is not disappointed that he has to share a cabin with her. While they are definitely attracted to one another, he wants more than just the physical. Alex takes such care of Scottie throughout the retreat, but knowing it will come to an end, has him already worried about what comes next. He is crazy about Scottie, but doesn’t want to scare her. So he gives her everything he can and that she will take.
As mentioned, their relationship starts out very physical before the emotional depth begins to grow. It does happen and when it does, these two deliver. Finally dealing with everything unsaid between them, Scottie and Alex solidify what they mean to each other and what they want after the retreat ends. All in all, Alexandria delivers a sweet, but spicy story that was a fun read.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: ❄️Workplace Romance 🧣Forced Proximity ❄️One Bed 🧣Happy x Broken ❄️Opposites Attract 🧣Instalove
This was a 3.5⭐️ read for me. While I loved Alex as the mmc and enjoyed Scottie’s character as the fmc I struggled a bit.
It is ia sweet, swoony and spicy story. It is a workplace romance where he falls first and is such a cinnamon roll/golden retriever and she is a bit grumpy and baffled by his immediate affection and care for her.
Alex is such a dreamy and swoon worthy mmc and even I was falling for his character while reading. I enjoyed that while his family is apparently very wealthy, it wasn’t a trope for the book. In fact it mentions it a few times but it doesn’t control the mood or theme of those scenes. And honesty there is very little mentioned about his family, they are never on page at all aside from rarely being mentioned by Alex during conversation with Scottie. Scottie’s family appears regularly via in person on page and in many family text threads which I love. I did have a shock and had completely forgot about it until it mentioned the eldest sibling who apparently lives abroad and refuses to come home- it mentioned there were 4 of them once in the beginning of the book and literally never mentioned again despite the other 2 siblings make many appearances via in person and through messaging scenes.
However, for the first 25% of the book I had a hard time following certain scenes and felt several times like something was missing while reading, like lines had been left out or something wasn’t written into scenes that needed it to make sense. There were many times I had to read over pages 2-3 times just to be sure. It was truly only through about 25% of the book and was definitely better from there. I feel like at 425 pages that it did feel a bit repetitive at some moments and could have been shaved down a bit and still provided the same effect on the reader.

“come here, sweetheart, stand with me.” he beckons me closer, and i instinctively move toward him. alex seems to have a hold on me that i can’t ignore, and i don’t think i’d want to. i love it.’
review💭 this was such a cute and fun read, i really liked the flirty banter and instant chemistry that these two characters had. i liked the way they formed a connection before meeting, it let their friendship naturally form to a relationship. i found scottie our FMC to be super relatable and i really liked how alexandria portrayed the mental health of the character. it’s also so refreshing to see relatable and honest portrayals of mental health. scottie was just so sweet, independent and headstrong. our MMC, alex was everything, he was gentle, caring and very upfront with what he wants, which we love to see. the way he was with scottie was exactly what i wanted, patient and not pushy.
“i need you.” “you’ve got me.”
i liked the whole office retreat vibe of this book, i liked how it allowed the characters to get closer together in a more natural and genuine way, due to the forced proximity - which is one of my favourite tropes. the plot was really nice and felt more authentic than a lot of romances as it touched on those real life issues and it was all handled so well.
‘he is my alex and i am his scottie.”
i’m super excited to see what is in store for the other clarke sisters after all the teasers in this. this was my second beta read for alexandria, so thank you so much for trusting me, reading the final copy was amazing. it’s her 3rd book and whilst is a standalone does feature some familiar faces.
My Snowflake Sweetheart is an office, forced proximity, one bed romance .
I enjoyed My Snowflake Sweetheart. Scottie and Alex were good main characters> They both were likable and relatable. Scottie is amazing hard working, down to earth women that is dealing with mental health issues. Alex a rich guy that is hard worker that wants to make a name for himself. He want to love but It wants it with someone that loves him for him and not his name or money. Scottie and Alex end up on company retreat together During this time together Scottie feels like herself and doesn’t feel like her mental health issues are holding her back and Alex feels like he has found his girl. But what happens when the retreat is over and the go back to life.
First thing, this is a spicy book. If you have read any of Alexandria book’s then you know just how spicy they get. Now even though this is a spicy book it doesn’t overshadow Scottie and Alex’s story. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow throughout the story but I also like watching Scottie deal with and work through her mental health issues. Alexandria does a great job when it comes to written about mental health issues. I felt she handle the subjects ( severed depression) well. Another thing I like about this book was the pace and flow of the story was good. It was easy to understand and to follow.
Overall, My Snowflake Sweetheart is good read. The main characters were good. The story was easy to understand and to follow. The mental health issues were written and handle well . This is story that once you start you want to be able to put down till the end.
Scottie: After having come out of a deep depression, she finds herself genuinely smiling from messages from a new coworker. As the company goes on a week-long retreat, she finds herself having to room with said coworker who seems to have his sights on having her. She finds herself genuinely smiling and laughing around him, not spiraling into the depressive thoughts. When they return to work, how does their connection fit into life at home?
Alex: Comes from a rich and wealthy family but wants to make a name for himself. Working in an engineering role, he discovers the coworker he has a connection with via Teams messaging is the pretty woman he’s run into a few times. He shoots his shot during the company retreat, when they’re accidentally required to share the same cabin. Though the physical chemistry is present, he wants even more. When the retreat is over, how does he calm Scottie’s nerves about it all and make sure they can be together forever?
3 stars as the story is one that’s sweet and spicy, a bit difficult to follow at times, and grammar choices can be a bit confusing.
Wouldn’t read again or recommend strongly to others, but if someone asked me about the book, I’d tell them to read it.
Mental health is such an important topic, and I always appreciate when a story explores it in a meaningful and realistic way. The question of “Am I healed enough to be ready for the next step?”—and the struggle of usually convincing yourself you aren’t—is something I think many readers will relate to.
This office romance takes a slightly different approach, starting more physically and then building a deeper emotional connection. That shift didn’t feel wrong at all; it just made the story feel unique compared to more traditional romance timelines.
What I loved most was the focus on healing and personal growth. Watching the FMC slowly begin to open up and “bloom” again after a difficult period felt so real. Even for readers who haven’t experienced severe depression, the moments of forcing a smile, laughing when it doesn’t quite reach your eyes, or quietly reclaiming confidence can resonate deeply.
While I sometimes wished we could see more of the MMC’s perspective, the story shines in the FMC’s journey. Seeing her truly smile and laugh again, reclaiming her confidence and place in her own life, made this a truly rewarding read.
Scottie and Alex This workplace romance is sweet, and a lottle (a lot) spicy.
Scottie is dealing with depression, and unexpectedly has a wonderful connection with a new coworker. Funnily enough, due to IT, there was originally some confusion about her name, and they sparked a friendship where she was worried about frat behaviour, and he had no idea who she really was.
Alex is wealthy, and despite graduating as an engineer long before, he’s only just entering into this career. Turns out, the family business has interfered…
A workplace retreat, a name mix-up, forced proximity, and some unhinged workplace dynamics make for a pretty eventful story. The plot was a bit confusing at times, and the writing probably wasn’t as polished as I would hope for. A bit judgmental, but the writing occasionally felt a bit immature - almost like they were teenagers, very early twenties - and it was hard for me to actually pick whether they were supposed to be late 20’s, 30’s… Add in a very large cast of characters, and it got a bit chaotic. An ok read, but not quite sure if I would read again.
My Snowflake Sweetheart by Alexandria Mae Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐
This was such a cute, "spicy" read with a lot of heart! It’s a workplace romance where Scottie (who’s recovering from a rough bout of depression) and Alex (a sweet, wealthy engineer) end up stuck in the same cabin during an office retreat. The mental health representation was so real. Seeing Scottie slowly "bloom" again and find her confidence felt super relatable. Alex was also the perfect book boyfriend—patient, gentle, and totally upfront about wanting her. Their chemistry was instant and the "forced proximity" vibes were 10/10. The writing was a little rough in places with some confusing grammar, and the story structure felt a bit jumpy at times. I also would’ve loved more of Alex’s POV to see what was going on in his head!
If you’re into the "one cabin" trope and stories about healing, definitely give this a go. It’s a sweet journey about finding yourself while falling in love.
Honestly this book could have been better. It was really hard to follow at times, none of the work talk made any sense at all which pulls away from the story. The nicknames are also way overused. The only reason it has three stars was because the spicy scenes were okay, there was quite a few scenes too so if you’re not into be aware before hand! This story also touches on depression (if you find that triggering be aware), but to me in a very unrealistic way. Everyone has different tastes however and if you think it sounds like a good story please support indie authors and give it a read!
This book has: ✔️Work Place Romance ✔️Forced Proximity ✔️One Bed ✔️Work Retreat❄️ ✔️Secret Relationship ✔️Open door spice (med)
I absolutely love this book! This author did an amazing job on making it known on how mental health can affect you both in and outside of a workplace and how it can affect your relationship and make you not want to be in that relationship and push people away because of how bad it can get in your head. Scottie is amazing she is a down to earth person that is struggling with every day dilemmas and it's harder for her because she is facing it with a mental health issue. Alex is falling for his coworker and loves her dearly will she be able to let him in or will he be pushed aside due to mental health issues and struggles that she can't overcome? Alex is a rich guy who wants to be loved for him not his name and Scottie truly sees him not the guy everyone else does just him will that be enough?
Definitely don't let this sweet cover mislead you into thinking its not 🌶🌶🌶🌶
This was a really great story. The only thing knocking off a half star for me is missing the dual POV. Following MMC Alex and FMC Scottie, the chemistry between the 2 is great, fun banter. A work place romance WITH a road trip! FUN!
Scottie has had battles with depression and the author does a great job in writing about that.
Being stuck in forced proximity, it's an insta-love story...physically anyway, but don't worry, it turns into SO much more!
*one bed *work place romance *road trip *forced proximity *insta-love
The blurb had me curious about this story right away. I liked it!
Scottie's journey had my attention! Work brings Alex into her life. When a retreat has the two colliding, could it lead to so much more between them?
I enjoyed Alex and Scottie's back and forth and how the retreat brought them together. These two were spicy together.
Scottie showed realness throughout. I felt for her and related to her. I liked Alex and Scottie together. I just struggled at certain points while reading.
Check out the author's content/trigger warnings note.
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Love Notes PR / the author*
This book had the potential to be so cute but there were way too many sex scenes. Any time they might have got something going conversation wise it was another sex scene. Even the "grand gesture" at the end wasn't even that good because the author clearly just wanted to give them another sex scene. It's so annoying because this book had a lot of potential because the characters are good and I love them together and before they actually got together we had a good glimpse of what they could be like.
My Snowflake Sweetheart is the kind of flirty, tension-filled romance that will have you kicking your feet ❄️💼
Office romance + forced proximity + ONE BED in a cabin?? Yeah… the chemistry was never standing a chance. The “will they or won’t they” energy is painfully good—every almost kiss had me screaming.
It’s giving opposites attract, nonstop flirting, and “we shouldn’t…but we absolutely will.” Light, spicy, and addictive in the best way.
If you love cozy retreat vibes mixed with undeniable tension… add this to your TBR immediately.
This was such a cute and fun read! I loved the flirty banter and the instant spark between the characters—it made their dynamic so enjoyable to follow. Their relationship begins with a strong physical connection before gradually developing deeper emotional layers. When that shift happens, it really lands—watching Scottie and Alex finally confront everything left unsaid was so satisfying. By the end, they’re clear about what they mean to each other and what they want beyond the retreat.
This a really cute read. For me reading this book was just like watching a movie I could imagine everything happening. I also like the use of messages quite often which makes it feel like you read it super fast. I would like the emojis to be there on paper in stead of in words but I don’t know in which way that is possible. It’s also a very relatable story, you can just imagine your self going through it.
I received this book as a ARC and oh my goodness. The tension between these two characters and the spicy scenes. Let’s just say you better have a good poker face when you read this in public. That’s all I am going to say take the time to read this book you won’t be disappointed as I defiantly want the next one in the series. I’ll be keep an eye out for it.
Im so grateful to have been able to get this book as an ARC from lovenotes.pr. The book was great Scottie and Alex completely stole my heart in My Snowflake Sweetheart. Watching Scottie slowly let her walls down while Alex patiently shows her the kind of love she deserves was so beautiful. Their story is cozy, heartfelt, and full of those quiet moments that make a romance unforgettable.
Scottie suffers from depression and has lost her ability to smile, that is until she gets partnered with the new guy at work. This book is loaded with spice and yearning. It was a really fun read!
Thank you to Love Notes PR for this wonderful ACR read. It was a sweet cutesy story with tons and tons of sexy scenes. It was straight up smut. The plot was good and the characters were adorable. The chemistry was on point. If you enjoy a cutesy smut book, then this book is absolutely for you. Almost every other scene has sex in it. It has the setting of a sweet and cute story, but its full of smut. Its enjoyable as long as that’s what you are looking to read for the day.
