Dive into the world of Dope Most Wanted and enjoy the ride. If they can’t survive, can you?
Ugh chefs freaking kiss! I just finished & wish that I was starting on page one, word one just to experience all the feels all over again! Money was everything that man is! I love him bad! The way the love oozed from these pages is truly unbelievable!FLOWERS ON TOP OF FLOWERS FOR YOU AP!
4.5⭐️this was such a good read - I just wanted to hug Reign and Money so bad. Let me say, Money was A MAN! But can we talk about Nia being the guardian Angel that Reign needed?! My girl was solid! I loved how Reign developed and blossomed into the boss that she was meant to be. It’s amazing what a lot of affirming and true loving can do for you ❤️.
Aubree Pynn does it again! Watching Money and Reign, who are both guarded and opposed to a relationship, organically come together to be all each other needed was beautiful to see. Money didn't play a single game when it came to Reign, and after all she had been through, seeing her come into her era of peace and protection was everything!
So. I struggled initially because Markus seemed so hard. And I felt bad for Reign. Like real bad, and at the 20% mark they hadn’t even met yet. So I knew I was in for a slow-ish burn, which I wasn’t in the mood for. But once they crossed paths, I was locked in. Reign gave him hell at first & was NOT falling for his charm, which made Markus want her more. He slowly broke down those walls & saw past her trauma, and in doing so, she became his peace as well. His refuge from the street life. Their love was quick, intense, healing, and all consuming. Outside of their relationship, there is SO MUCH nefariousness in this book. Like it really be ya own people. I loved the way that Markus & family spoke life into Reign & helped her to remember who tf she was! And once she came back into her own, she was unstoppable and exactly who Markus needed. This book is full of tension & emotion. And just felt overall heavy, but a good read.
...Those are all the faces I made for the first 34% of reading. Just when I thought Holy Toledo, plot holes and plot armor abound, Batman, the author says, skrr skrrrrr, hol’ up, hol’ up. In the words of the new gen, "let her cook." Because this is a story that needs you to sit back, the author basically pulls a "sit back and let me cater to u"- style narrative for fans of Urban Romance. The deets:
Caution 🔫There's a TW. Heed it and pay attention because the author isn't lying. Heavy traumas get exposed pretty quickly. Cue up 🎵"Let the bodies hit the floor. Let the bodies hit the floor"🎵 This has #violence #niggasflying #crime and #DVabuse fairly early on.
💠You have characters acting in bad faith.
💠You have plottin'.
💠You have crime.
💠You have murder and kill kill.
So, like a true-blue urban romance, the author finesses it all to fit into the story. Make no bones about it, the violence is a part of the character growth, romance, and crime plot.
Urban Romance Characters
“I will restore and cover you whenever you need it”
🔫This story is about a Don boss in the making. This has #Possessive #Protective #NiggasInGlasses #CriminalMMC We see Money aka Markus aka Milli build to his come up.
💠This book has one of the most solid, perfect character and romance arcs I've read in a minute. As an Urban Romance fan, this gives you all the things.
💠Where we start, Markus is one character who slowly evolves from using pills to numb pain, from glassy eyes, from grinding teeth, from headaches dealing with incompetence,
💠 But by the end, you are giving him a standing O. He starts to get clarity.
💠The romance and character arc feels like a movie that gets a stamp of the title at the end because we just witnessed the birth of something. Again, "let her cook".
“She told me no, would barely say two words to me, and then when she did start talking to me, she cussed me out every chance she got. Had to have her”
🔫The FMC Reign, aka Speechless, is one tough cookie. She’s #BlackCatFMC #WeakFMC #BossUpFMC I love in Urban Romances where the FMC may be down, she may be going through some extreme traumas but her weakness isn't in spirit just being dealt a fucked up hand and once she is given room to grow we... 💠...watch her evolve into a queen, a true partner, someone who uses her intelligence in a "what do YOU bring to the table nigga" type energy and it's beautiful to see-- how she's never out.
💠...watch what healthy we plottin' together-better-be-on-the-same-page-even-if-you-are-mad-you-will-still-kiss-me-hello style communication.
Reign begins the book on her 26th birthday, betrayed and abused in the worst way by her man. It's easy to see how gaslighting and love bombing may have a smart woman end up in Reign's shoes. And this isn't a quick romance. She gives real "I don't like you"-isms to Markus every time he comes around. He doesn't see her and immediately falls; he sees her and just notices. The more he sees, the more he wants clarity, so he starts moving differently to make sure he has her.
"My purpose is you. And all that you are. It goes beyond the love that’s budding in my being for you. You understand?”
🔫The romance gives real Beyonce 🎵"Who wants that perfect love story anyway"/"cliché cliché cliché"🎵 Toast to cliché is in a dark past indeed because we have #SlowBurn # BatheTogether #ForeheadKisses #Don'tUseMyStreetNameYouBetterUseMyGovernment #IRememberEverythingAboutYou romance to the core. 💠The romance arc and even the smart criminal moves arc take a while to get there.
💠But just when one thinks there are about to be plot holes or inconsistencies pop up, 40% comes, and things start to add up and make sense ("let her cook").
💠Trust the process, and certain character actions and behaviors really do add up and line up. Here, we are subjected to the cruelty of Javi/Reign and the coldness of Markus/Nevaeh, leading up to the softness, purity, and strength of Reign and Millo.
Urban Story Elements 🔫The crime plot is really strong. The author did a great job of weaving in multiple conflicts 🔫Mainly dual pov. The only time other characters' pov is shown, it directly folds into the main character's storyline and feeds the main conflict arc. It isn't a lot of their chapters are dropped during key moments to move the story forward, but it never feels unnecessary 🔫tight and concise narrative, focus on the couple and their rise, their growth, and weaknesses, switch to strengths 🔫bang bang shoot 'em up shoot 'em up story
Overall:
The reason this is a 4 instead of a 5-star read is that the author has a way of setting up a character's actions in a situation and then immediately telling you what they demonstrated. A character would be dumb AF based on ego or pride, and we'll get "he's very envious and prideful. His ego will lead to his downfall." This is a writing choice that doesn't connect for me, but it doesn’t detract from the unputdownable nature of the story, with easy flow and strong characters; it’s a must-read for Urban Romance fans.
Markus and reign love for each other is so beautiful. I love that he don’t play about his woman and she don’t play about him
Then i aintfucking leaving you . You understand what im telling you? You are free to feel that shit . I want you to . I want you free, baby . Who i am outside of these walls is who ineed to be so so can ensure that whether you in here or out there, you're good. So tell me again who I am." "You're mine," Reign spoke with confidence. "And you mine. You know what that means?" "That you'll drop a body for me." "Every last one. Let me hear it." "I'm yours," Reign said, her face leaning into the warmth of his palm on her cheek.
Svyn and nia 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾 finally got together and I’m glad they are finally official and I’m happy that Nia finally let him in
I lied to you , Nia said just about a whisper after almost an hour of silence . When I finally let you in . l I told you I never wanted to be with you , I lied .” I know “, svyn said , holding her close .
Svyn and Markus ( brothers for life )
They was definitely meant to be in each other’s life’s and have each other back . I’m happy that Markus has a brother in his life who is family to him .
Svyn pushed Markus back with both his fists in his shoulders and Markus returned the gesture.” I’m proud of you nigga . The north is yours “. No the north is ours , Markus spoke .you been with me since the beginning . You’ve been real “
Nia and reign ( sisterly love )
Nia stabbed in the back by her best friend cyn was truly hurtful but I’m glad Nia has a sister like reign who will never let anything happen to her and Nia will do the same .
“ so for you , go through it . feel it , expel it , let Svyn love you wholly . And you love him the same. You're going to be okay. And I'll be right here for you, every step of the way. That's my word."
"If you think you're broken, you don't know yourself," Nia started, swiping a tear from Reign's cheek. "From when I met you until now, you have defied every single odd. It'll happen in its time. It'll be beautiful. And let's not mention you've given that man life. If you can give life, you can create it and hold it too. You just closed the door to a very traumatic chapter. Let your body settle into what being loved for real is all about. You hear me, sis?" "I hear you. Thank you."
This book was such An amazing book to read and definitely recommend.i definitely couldn’t put it down . The writing is so good and the love is so beautiful. This is my first time reading this book by this author and I definitely can’t wait to read more of her books . Than you for being an author
The way AP writes urban fiction main characters need to be study. The way she is able to write a MMC that is in the streets, but when he finds his woman the way he is soft for one her.
This book started off with a bang and people being thrown off buildings. The MMC Markus is a dope boy on his way to the top which always comes with people in their circle being jealous, and back stabbing because they believe they deserve it more. Then you have the FMC Reign, check your triggers because she has been through a lot.
When Markus & Reign meets, she is not trying to talk to this man, she has just got out of a traumatic situation and is just trying to survive and keep her head down but Markus Emiliano would not stop applying pressure til Reign couldn't run from him no more.
This book had all the elements I LOVE in an urban romance. The street action, the love story, the suspense, the emotions all the feels. The way both of them poured into each other, the found family, I enjoyed it all. The banter between the MC's in the beginning was so good because why did she call him slow, and he called her mute on the stoop LMAO !!!
shout out to Svyn & Nia they were the only other real ones outside of the aunties.
Dope Boys was a story around the streets, disloyalty, pain, and rebirth. Reign just wanted to be free from Javier and his cruel treatment and if that meant leaving The Port then so be it. He stripped her down to nothing and all hope was lost until a window of opportunity presented itself and my girl ran for it. Markus “Money” Emiliano was a dope boy through and through. His uncle left him the game but he had many snakes around him before he could level up like everyone knew he could. But when family is disloyal because their pride and ego gets in the way Money has to play chess not checkers when making moves. Always 10 steps ahead. Reign was what Money needed to clear the smoke in his view and show him dope boys needs a strong woman beside them. Money provided Reign with the soft and warm life she’s always dreamed of. This book drew me in from the very first page. This was my introduction to Aubrey Pynn and I’m hooked. She took her time writing this. No questions left unanswered. It was a beautiful love story showing no matter what life throws and how dark someone’s life can get real love can bring the sunlight back.
This was such a ride, There were so many snakes in the garden so many hands trying to be in the pot. Markus needed the soul strong fire that was hiddened under the pain and suffering thelat Reign had been through. When they both opened up to what could be with each other, things began to mend. She healed what was broken in him and he brought her out of that darkness she had been wallowing in for a long time.
Nia was the unknown catalyst that bought them all together. Seeing all the obstacles they had to face to come out on top made them that much stronger. Reign was able to flourish and really come into her light
This was something that the aunts really saw and knew would be the catapult Markus needed...his queen to his king.
This was a wonderfully crafted love story with all the elements of love, loss, brokenness, mending, and perseverance wrapped into one story💜💜
Reign was the definition of fierce. She did what needed to be done to survive and never folded under pressure. Watching her transform her survival instincts into love was beautiful she was strong, smart, and resilient. Money Makin’ Markus carried the weight of the world on his shoulders, making sure everyone around him was straight while still fighting his own demons. Betrayal, jealousy, and greed within a family will always spell disaster, but Markus handled his business like a boss. And one thing’s for sure, two things for certain he was not coming off Reign, period. I also loved Nia. She was fighting her own battles and made a few wrong trust calls, but when it came to her business, she wasn’t the one or the two. And Svyn? A real one through and through never afraid to check Money when he was wrong. Ms. Pynn did it again! This one’s a solid 10/10. Highly recommend.
Dope Boys: Most Wanted is that book! It's not trauma bonding. It's all about healing, good love, motivation, and loyalty. It's about finding your people and building. Just wholesome overall without the feel for venegeance. Markus "Money" Emilliano Grant aka Drop Em From The Top is coming for what is his and seeing things for what it truly is after finding his "Mute on the Stoop." A clear mind is a dangerous thing because now eyes are open. Reign on the other hand is a woman trying to be as independent and find a peace that hasn’t been given to her in years. I’m not going to ruin this book for you but all I can say is “watch your enemy, never be too eager, keep her nose clean, and never shit where you eat” and “A snake too close to you stretches and grows to your size.
She locks me in each time with the trigger warnings. I mean who’s writing better warnings than her?!
Overall I enjoyed this story. Despite all the pain the two MCs experienced, their relationship didn’t feel like trauma bonding. It was two people finding love in a time they both needed it and it helped them heal. Their story was beautiful. I really enjoyed the gradual way they bonded, it felt slow but it wasn’t. And it made sense to the characters and the story. Markus was pressure.
Now the folks surrounding them: Brantley, Cyn, and Angel- and a few others were trash but got what they deserved. Just wish the errors were cleaned up because they interrupted the flow of the story.
What an amazing story! Reign was in a very abusive relationship. She thought she would never be free. She was so broken. One opportunity led to her escape and she ran for her life. She ran into her guardian, angel Nia, and at that point, her life completely changed.
Markus “Money” Grant was known to all by he ran his drug organization and the fact that he did not play any games. But he had so many demons that he was running from until he met Reign. Even though their beginning was rocky he never gave up. He slowly chipped away at her walls of protection. She became everything he did not know that he needed, and he cherished her so much. Their love story was full of healing and restoration. It was absolutely beautiful!
Babyyyyyyy a time was had between these pages. I was giggling, side eyeing, cursing and ready to come through my kindle to give Reign back up. This was that grown up love with healing as the foundation. Ughhhh to be loved, to be seen, to have your scars caressed and your soul restored is what was on these pages. Reign and Emilliano had healing, good love, loyalty, team building and family on lock. This book was the epitome of why it’s so important to choose the right partner. "Mute on the Stoop,” had me crying laughing. Reign came in as a gentle storm and blessed the empire. I loved me some Svyn and Nia. There were so many gems dropped in this book….. . A clear mind is a beautiful thing to have. . The partner you choose will either help you bloom or watch you wilt away. . A snake too close to you stretches and grows to your size. (Never thought of that) . Envy is blinding and dangerous
Every book written by Big Pynn is a time!! Your always gonna get everything you want and need in a book .You want romance ? Check! You want some comic relief? Check? You want a finnnne leading man, who carry’s both them thangs? Check ? You want a female lead who may carry a little baggage, but she big mama for real? Check? You want some carnage where you may or may not lose the total count of bodies at the end ? Check ?? You are never going to be disappointed in any book by Aubree Pynn!! Dope Boys is a page turner that will have you turning the page with enthusiasm from start to finish
Money and Speechless were so good for one another. They both had been through so much. Her at the hands of man and him at the hands of family. There is definite character growth. Her from silence to being seen and heard and him having to show up in a different way for her and to step into the next level as the Don. It’s a book you will reread and find something you might’ve missed on the first run, but read it like it’s new nonetheless. It’s crazy what people will do when they want to take something from you. For Speechless it’s her light; for Money his spot. Nia and Svyn shine as side characters as well.
I enjoyed reading Dope Boys: Most Wanted! I loved Markus and Reign's characters and the overall development of the characters! Reign's past was hard to read, and I was so glad that things worked out for her the way they did! It was crazy she was being treated so bad, but was so good at changing everything she touched! Like a "Jill of All Trades" - and I loved that she was willing to walk in her own power! The way I cheered when Javier got everything he deserved!
Received an ARC Copy of this book, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own!

Such a good read!!! Had me skinning and grinning!! The beginning was tough to read, due to the seriousness of the topic. I was so emotional. But baby Reign was a fighter!!!! I loved the banter between Reign and Markus!! Once Markus laid his eyes on Reign he didn’t come up off her!! I loved how he was there for her and supporting her the whole way. & baby once Ms Reign got her confidence back she was showing her strength ten folds. Nia and Sevyn are so funny and cute. I want to know more about them! Them cousins, Javiar and KC boy!!!! Had me hot!!
UGH! markus and reign 😭 i lovedddd this. the way i was IMMEDIATELY locked in with this one??? i mean it’s not shocking when the first chapter is that!? speechless is also the cutest nickname lol i fell out when he first said it but then when he explained why he calls her that omggggg pls. literally the perfect mix of lovey dovey and poppin off. and i agree with the author’s note, brantley deserved WORSE! it was too easy bc did mans even care about his mama? his brother? his triflin fiancée??????
Overall, I would rate this a 3.5. It took me a little while to decide if I was going to keep reading the book because it felt the beginning of the story was rushed. I also didn't particularly enjoy all the different points of view because I wanted more from the main characters.
I was happy that once Regin let Money love her, he did so gently. No one stepped to her as a woman, and the only real issue that they had was resolved quickly.
Thank you!!! A great story with a FMC & MMC that deserved the love they found in each other. You wrote Reign so well, I wanna meet her in real life! I thank Camden’s sacrifice for her resurrection. Milli was just that dude. He listened and was changed by Speechless lol. I mean all the women, with the exception of the two females, were powerful characters in their own way.
And another one!!! I want this to be a real place so bad lol. At first I cringed when I looked at the page count but got to the end and wanted more. Every time she dropping a book I’m reading. So many lessons learned and I got some great quotes to help me in this crazy little life of mine. Great job Big Pynn!!
I loved this book by the end of Chapter 3 because I knew my girl, Reign, was going to get everything she needed and wanted out of life. Ms. Pynn did not disappoint. Money, Money, Money - my man, my man, my man…I loved his growth. That was a man who was in the midst of chaos and found peace with his Speechless!
I loved Money and Reign. I loved everything about this story; the storyline and characters were perfect. I would advise to read the triggers in the beginning because it has some heavy scenes. I would say it's a bit of a slow burn, but I thought it had a great pace, and I was entertained right until the end. Money did not play about Reign, and that's exactly what she needed.
Markus and Reign ❤️ this was such a good urban romance book. There was depth, drama and all the feels. This was my first read by this author, and I was pleasantly surprised. There are hard themes addressed in this book such as trafficking and miscarriage/ abortion. Definitely life lessons on how greed, jealousy and pride can be the downfall of some of the characters we encounter.
Man this book was so good. I love the way the author balanced it out with the streets and love. Reign became that one baby. Money got a real one frfe. Money and Syvn just had the BDE that I love. Give me one of them any day. Nia wasn't half stepping by far. I just felt the love from every page. Great job. 10 stars 🤩🤩🤩
Honestly, the trigger warnings weren’t that bad, but my girl had been through some things!!! This was such a great read! How they all came about, the betrayal and envious spirits around them smh. Poor Camden 🥺😔. It’s only up from here, and I’m ready for what’s next!
Let me say this book was slightly a slow burn but picked up quick. Normally not a fan of different POV’s but it was still good and not to much. Loved the growth of Reign stepping into her own and being loved properly.
Ms. Aubree drops nothing but fire. I could not put this book down. These people can be read over and over again. I’ll be getting a physical and digital copy and audible when it drops.
