"What a mouth you have, sister."

"Oh, shoot me! This place is making me lose my sanity."

"I have a pistol. Don't tempt me."

"Well, spare me a bullet then. It only takes one shot."

Who would have thought that a nun (someone who has a soft side for children and is supposed to be a symbol of peace and purity) could be as badass as Sister Blair? 😇😇😇 I love how bold, unfiltered, and completely unapologetic she is when she’s with Konstantin (MMC). She proves that even if you’ve taken vows, you can still balance your faith with a bit of "necessary sin" when the world gets dangerous.

B- Biblically badass (she’ll quote a verse while taking you down)
L- Loaded and Level-headed (loaded with secrets and lifted by prayer)
A - Amen with an Attitude (an "attitude" that could scare the devil)
I - Innocence Inspector (gentle with the kids, but she can spot a sinner from a mile away)
R- Relentless (in her faith, her secrets, and her ability to drive Konstantin crazy)

What I Like:

💖 This book is a non-stop adrenaline rush! Full of action from the very first page and will leave you more curious than a cat in a confessional.

💖 It leaves you wondering what kind of toxic, explosive history Blair and Konstantin share. You’ll spend the entire time questioning what on earth happened in their past to make them carry such a heavy weight of secrets. It makes sense, though... when you’ve been deeply hurt, it is NORMAL to protect yourself by remaining guarded and hyper-aware of your surroundings.

3.5 ⭐️ this was a fun quick read. Instead of the priest who’s tempted by a drop dead gorgeous woman, we have a soon to be nun who gets entangled with a criminal and the temptation is real.

I’ve read books since I was little. I’ve also been blogging for years so when I come across a storyline that I’ve not read before I’m super happy. This book made me super happy. It’s about a novice nun and a convicted criminal. I could complain about little things that annoyed me and the fact it could have been made into a longer book but I’m not gonna do that. I’m just real happy that it’s a good storyline with likeable main characters. I was really rooting for Blair and I wanted her to have her happy ending. Did she? Well you’ll have to read it yourself. I’m gonna go stalk this author and see what else I can read of hers as this one gets all the stars.

This book was fun to read. Ultimately, it wasn’t what I was expecting from a soon to be nun/criminal on the run (not in a bad way), I still appreciated the story and, honestly, the second prologue hinting at other books in a fantasy setting spoke to me. Like hello??

The fmc as I said is still in training, and therefore she doesn’t know if that’s what she wants, as the true reason for her being there isn’t faith related. So when a gorgeous, darkly sensual criminal seeks refuge in her convent chambers, his reflections bring forth her own doubts.

It was interesting to read about a mmc who’s got 2 personalities in him, I haven’t read many books with that mental state.

I was surprised by the spice, I thought it would be more spicy, but it’s alright! Our couple was actually quite tender, despite their upbringing.

Thanks so much to Bree Voltaire for the arc! I’m curious about the sequel.

roller coaster ride

This is my own opinion so let’s jump right into it.
3.5/5 rating
2.5 spice but spice doesn’t happen till end of the book.

Our fmc Blair aka blanka is a single mom who was delt the wrong hand in life; which led to her trying to reprimand her life back to god. She tries her hand at becoming a reborn nun just to get intertwined with a convicted felon. When she goes to the prison to speak to the jail mates about finding god again and praying. She thought it was the life for her until her path of destruction came to a complete halt.

Our mmc is konstantin. His character has mpd which takes up a lot of our scenes. Unfortunately I could not keep up with the back and forth scenes between when kon and his alter ego. I was confused on some pages due to I couldn’t tell when it was kon or his other personality. I do wish the chapters were broke down a little more and had some extra content and also included some more information but that’s just my own personal opinion.

The book was very slow on getting to the point the author was trying to get across but after chapter 13 it sped up pretty fast and then all the questions or at least most of the questions were answered. The spice was there but not till chapter 15-16. I did really like that she explained Blair’s coparenting at the end because not a lot of people understand those types of situations so I did honestly love that about her. All together it’s a good book. The only thing I would personally change is the over use of some of the words and change some of the reoccurring thoughts. Other than that it’s an all around good story.

Sins And Virtue - Bree Voltaire

Forbidden Taboo Romance
One bed
Morally Grey MMC
Black Cat FMC

Age Gap
Praise Kink

Nun x Russian Convict

“It’ll stay with me. After all, you never know who will come crawling in at night, and I’ll have to shoot them.” I clicked my teeth, turning around and muttering under my breath. “Hope you shoot yourself in the ass, then.” “Heard that,” he replied monotonously, his glare burning the side of my temple.”

Thank you to Bree for the ARC opportunity.
This is my first time reading from this author, my review reflects only based on personal opinion and connection to the read.

I enjoyed this book , it was good.
It was a little hard to follow in the beginning, but it did get better, easier to follow and writing improved.
Bree had managed to capture the feel and sound of Konstantins Russian accent in the writing. Which I find amazing. I felt like I was somewhere different, new.

I love Konstantin. Do I need a 6’5 Russian convict? Maybe!

If you love a slow burn, banter, a nun in the works with attitude, and a spice scene involving a cross. This one’s for you!

One mistake can cost you your freedom...

Konstantin Volkov was a man of both terror and power until he misjudged his chances of winning and found himself imprisoned on the Italian coast.
During his stay, he receives two significant visits: one offering him the opportunity to escape and the other providing him with a reason to remain in the area👀

Blair Morgan has committed many sins in her life, and the last one almost took away her only reason for living. That's why she decided to abandon that glimmer of light and run as far away as possible — giving an innocent person the chance to save themselves and stay safe.

But, as usual, even the bravest decisions fail when fate ties her to one of the Russian mafia's most wanted criminals.

Will her attempt at redemption succeed, or will she succumb to the oldest sin in the world?

I must say that I expected more tension and 'padding'. It's not that I didn't like the story, but the FMC's change of heart was quite predictable, unlike the behaviour of the dark and handsome MMC.
I hope to read more by this author because, with a few tweaks to the plot, it could have been a more exciting and emotional read❤️‍🔥

I got this ARC about 3 days (more like 2) before the release so I was in a bit of a crunch to get through this as fast as I could. I accidentally had overloaded my plate with a few ARCs and of course, it’s the holiday season (uber busy).

I was a bit confused by the supernatural elements that popped up. It was kinda just *BOOM* there all of a sudden and then not really discussed again untilI believe the second epilogue. It ended on a note that opens to a whole underground world. I guess a different book is tied into this a wee bit but it was also in the second epilogue. It came out in that second epilogue like 3 different plot twists just kinda thrown in there right before the end.

I did really love the premise of the nun x criminal. I’ve seen a lot of the priest x ___ that shows up so that was fun to read. I did really enjoy the chemistry between Konstanin and Blair with the situation that they were kinda put in. The overall story I really enjoyed and maybe I’ll take the time later on to really reread it and analyze it.

Life is difficult. The past makes up key components of our person. Sometimes so much that it bleeds into the soul to the point you don’t know what to do or who to turn to. And that alone makes you want to give up and make the ground swallow you whole.

Bree Voltaire. SINS AND VIRTUE - Bree Voltaire (Kindle Locations 869-871). Kindle Edition.

I really enjoyed this book, it was slow in places but picked up in others. Never read about a nun and prisoner before so this is my first and wont be my last. I loved Blair and Konstantine, the love devotion and care for each other is unmatched. It was realistic, they fall slowly and with purpose. I love happy endings and this has one of the best I have read in 2025. It really heals you after you get to the point of the epilog (two happy ones!)

Spice was 1 out of 5 and takes a bit to get to, but the author knocked it out of the park.
Plot was 5/5 I really liked where the story went and how is was ended.

All in all the book was a solid 4.5 and worth the read!

**ARC REVIEW**

Sins and Virtue by Bree Voltaire was an addictive, fun read that kept me hooked from start to finish. The writing is strong, the characters are compelling, and the mental health representation is handled thoughtfully.

The story follows Konstantin Volkov, a convicted criminal seeking asylum, and Blair, a nun on the brink of taking her final vows. Their chemistry is immediate and intense, full of witty, engaging banter. The romance is a slow burn, with spice toward the end that is absolutely worth the wait.

Konstantin and Blair feel perfectly matched—dark, complex, and deeply drawn to one another despite every reason not to be.

If you love morally complex characters and high-stakes romance, this book will not disappoint.

Thank you to Bree Voltaire for the ARC.

📖 ARC REVIEW 📖

Sins and Virtue is one of the most provocative and emotionally charged reads I’ve experienced.
The duality of faith and sin, of captivity and desire, is woven through every page.

Blair Morgan, seeking peace in the convent, and Konstantin Volkov, a legendary convict freed by mysterious means, their worlds shouldn’t collide.
Yet they do.
Hard.
The power dynamic, the age gap, the hostage context, all handled with tension and rawness.

I loved the way the novel confronts faith, guilt, and redemption in a deeply human way.
The chemistry between Blair and Konstantin, dangerous, forbidden, magnetic.
The emotional stakes and the blurred lines of morality.

If you’re looking for a romance that challenges as much as it consumes, this is it.

I received this as an ARC, thank you so much for the opportunity to read!

Blair and Konstantin W.O.W. ❤️ Both of them have such troubled pasts and their first meeting inside a prison was less than ideal, however you really see their story take off after the prison break. Blair is living her life as a nun to protect her son and while she is doing community work she ends up in the prison that Konstantin is in. A escape happens and Konstantin ends up hiding out in Blairs room, she brings him food, and starts to share her life with him. They both stay very guarded about their past until a tradgey strikes which brings them together. They start to realize they are better together and with each other they can get through anything. Truly loved this story and the ending was perfect.

Ohhhh my goshhhh?!?! What did I read? And why did I love it though😍 thissss book hooked me from the start, from the writing, the characters, the plot, the chemistry soooo mwah 💋 chefs kiss.

The story was very compelling, strong. We follow Konstantin Volkov who is a convicted criminal that’s seeking asylum and Blair a soon to be nun. The absolutely loved the slow burn, the chemistry, the tension between Konstantin and Blair. The way he’s possessive and will do anything for her. This book was so well written, a lot different to what I expected but it was an enjoyable read for sure.

If you enjoy forced proximity, age gap, mafia romance, forbidden taboo, morally grey mmc, black cat fmc, praise kink this is for you!!! 💯 recommend, thank you!!!!

3.5 rounded up. This book started really slow for me, I actually stepped away and came back as I was having some trouble getting into the story. But once I came back to it I was fully invested.

I like the concept of this story and the characters themselves kept me interested but there was some things that just moved so slowly for me and I caught myself skimming rather than being fully invested in the story. I think the writing was well done and the plot flow was well done in keeping with the story.

Overall this is good read that scoots away from the ordinary, I was happy to see such a good representation of mental health and for the characters to find the happiness they deserved.

ARC Review: Sins and Virtue by Bree Voltaire

This book wasn’t what I expected, but it still delivered in all the right ways. The main couple’s chemistry is strong and believable, and the plot moves with an easy, engaging flow. I especially appreciated how Blaire’s secret is teased early on but kept hidden until the very end — it adds a great layer of tension.

If you enjoy age gap, forced proximity, and mafia romances, this is absolutely worth picking up. The nun/bratva dynamic gives the story a fresh twist, and the secret the nun is protecting makes it even more compelling.

ARC review: This took a little while to pull me in, and the beginning felt slow at first. The story follows a soon-to-be nun and a criminal who has escaped prison, which honestly wasn’t what I was expecting going in. Once I settled into the story, though, I really started to enjoy the different take on the plot and characters. The tension builds nicely, the dynamic between them is intriguing, and by the end I was fully invested. It’s a slower start, but if you stick with it, it’s a rewarding and surprisingly enjoyable read.

2 🌶🌶

A well-written book, fluid writing and easy to understand.
The story is well constructed and it is a book worth reading.
Is a very slow burn, which makes us want to give with the crucifix in Blair's head, but is very worth reading!
Blair is a real ragged cat, a character full of life and quite funny. Konstantin has my heart.. he is a real cutie!! I loved it!! Congratulations to the author and congratulations on the artwork! 💕

ARC REVIEW. This book was mafia and nun FUN. Seriously, Kon ( our MMC) is a disgraced made man and now a prisoner and he meets our FMC Blair who’s a nun and has some secrets and a past she’s running from to keep someone who’s precious to her safe. Kon is unhinged and will do anything to keep Blair and we love a possessive, who did this to you MMC. Book has a HEA, and an epilogue that leaves room for future books! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the spice was SPICY.🌶️

Sins & Virtue Review ♥️📚 I really enjoyed reading this book & was pulled in from the beginning!
Konstantin (a Russian criminal) basically kidnaps Blair (a nun) and after weeks of being enemies, their chemistry brings them together to be lovers… with that St. Andrew’s cross scene 😳🔥
I loved learning about both of their pasts, especially Blair’s, which I didn’t see coming! I would have loved a bit more of the ending to be brought forward throughout the book with how much came out in the end, however I do love that it set the scene for future books!
If you like books with a morally grey MMC, taboo romance, dark pasts, and a bit of spice, then Sins & Virtue is one you should check out!

Im stumped at what I want to say... this wasn't what I thought, it kept me on my toes, so much more than I thought this book was going to be. I was taken on a journey with Kon and BIair. I don't want to say much, so others can read going in blind but maybe check your triggers as this is heavily religious based, and with that come questions of morality

I enjoyed the story, by the end I wanted more and hope there is another instalment

This intense story immerses itself in the deepest soul, in the conflict between desires, morals and faith.

A journey to know two unforgettable characters like Blaire and Konstantin, each with their own past and secrets, who meet and find each other.
The chemistry between them is undeniable, and their conversations lead to creating an even deeper bond.

PS: the first epilogue made me (happily) cry and the second made me eager to know more

What is to love about this book? Everything!! Who doesn't love a great storyline about a nun who has escaped from a convent with a convicted criminal!!!
This storyline was a slow burn storyline that forms around the two main characters - Konstantin and Blair. Both of them have issues from events happened in their earlier life's (who doesn't have them!) and the two of them were seeking solace in each other.
I really enjoyed the book and will definitely read more books by Bree!

This book was a great! It was fun read that kept me reading until I was done.

It follows Konstantin, a convicted criminal seeking refuge and Blair, a num. Their chemistry is immediate but it is a slow burn with spice toward the end.

All together it’s a good book. I think the writing was well done and the mental health representation was well done. It does have a HEA for the characters that finally deserve it. Overall 4/5

3 star // 2 spice

The back-and-forth banter is top tier. Blair is a feisty FMC but Konstantin never backs down and is often very gentle and patient with her. It starts off strong with a jail break and lots of action - a bit insta lovey. I will say it felt like we were stuck a bit in the back half going back and forth without much plot moving. Some of the answers were in the epilogue but I maybe would have liked to see more about Konstantin and why he was roped into being freed from jail. While the religious aspect is very heavy in this book it didn't bother me but I would highly suggest checking your trigger warnings on that!

Thank you for the opportunity to arc read!

I was so excited to receive an ARC of this book. This book is so good, I couldn’t wait to finish! Konstantin is a convict who seeks asylum, and Blair is a nun who is about to take her final vows. They both have secrets and a past that could drown them, but what would happen if they used each other to stay above water?

I can’t wait for more people to meet these characters!

This book was quite different from what I expected. They both have a dark past that impacts their initial interactions and trust in each other until they finally commit. I’m intrigued to see where the next book heads since this was primarily about the relationship and not as much the action or the magic/fantasy piece. I also hope we get a steamy scene with Blair and Dya in book two!
