A body smothered by blueberry jam. A festival in chaos. A killer hiding among the crowd.
When Rosalind Harper-Cross arrives at Sunset Cove's Annual Blueberry Festival, she's expecting pie contests, small-town charm, and her mischievous Maine Coon cat, Perry, getting into trouble. What she doesn't expect is finding the Blueberry Muffin Queen dead behind her display tent—smothered in her own prize-winning jam.
With gossip spreading faster than butter on warm biscuits, Rosalind teams up with her detective husband Caleb and best friend Megan to sift through the festival's secrets. But when three of her closest friends land on the suspect list — ice cream supplier Lori Adams, cherry vendor Bill Williams, and Megan herself, who may actually own the Queen's Muffin shop and recipes—Rosalind realizes this case hits closer to home than she bargained for.
As festival lights twinkle and the last pies await judging, Rosalind must catch the killer before Sunset Cove's sweetest tradition turns permanently sour. With Perry's help and Rosalind’s knack for solving puzzles, they’ll need to solve this sticky situation before one of Rosalind's closest friends gets jammed up with murder.
A fun, page turning mystery that keeps you hooked to the end. It is the time for the Sunset Cove's Annual Blueberry Festival and Rosalind Harper-Cross was excited to have a display tent with her Maine Coon cat, Perry. That is until the Blueberry Muffin Queen was found dead behind her tent and her close friends, Lori, Bill and Megan are all suspects. So of course, Rosalind, her detective husband, Caleb and best friend Megan and Rosalind's incredibly intelligent and clue finding Cat, Perry dig in to find a murderer. With so many twists and turns we find things are not always what they seem. I really loved this book and highly recommend it. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
This was well written story about a small-town murder. This is the first book that I have read by Elly but it sure won’t be the last book. I love all the main character as specially Rosalind Harper Cross and her husband detective Caleb Cross and her best friend Megan Lockhard. There were lots of twist and turns as you went along. You would think it was one person then Elly would throw in another clue, and you would have rethink who you thought it could be. I love that about her book more than anything. But you had to wait until the very end to make sure that you had the right suspect. If you like to solve the mystery yourself before the end of the story this is the right book and author to read.
Rosalind finds a murdered woman in a tent on the morning of the Blueberry Festival! So, of course, the festival is stopped. The woman had bee strangled with her apron straps and also been suffocated with jam. She was a reasonably nasty person! But still, murder should not happen. Perry, the big Maine Coon cat virtually solves this crime. Helping in many ways, like calming those he knows are innocent by purring at them & even sitting on them. Once again, an interesting story. Caleb gets used to Perry managing to get into the Police Station when ever he wants to. No one knows how he gets in & he’s not telling!
When a vendor is killed at the festival and it becomes clear that there are quite a few suspects the investigation is on. A great cozy mystery that shows you from the perspective of the PI and the police officer what is happening. Wonderful characters that seem very relatable and a storyline that flows well. A great book to read! I received a copy of this book from the author. I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
I loved this book it was exciting I just wanted to read more and more till I finished the book I loved the characters and as specially parry the cat was amazing
