Witness Planeswalker Elspeth Tirel’s escape from the underworld and her battle against her god in this first graphic novel collection of Dark Horse Comic’s tales from Magic the Gathering’s multiverse.
Elspeth is dead. But her story is not yet over.
The sun god Heliod, having grown envious of his champion, struck her down to the underworld. There, she is forced to relive the worst moments of her life for all eternity. But Elspeth does not submit to despair—she emerges from each conflict a greater hero than before. And for a great hero like Elspeth, what is death but another challenge to overcome?
The unpublished story of Theros Beyond Death is finally brought to life by renowned author Dan Watters and talented artist Owen Gieni.

so glad the theros beyond death story is finally got filled in. for the unaware, we were supposed to get a novel, but it got canceled and there was also no web fiction for it so all we ended up getting was a plot summary of what the novel was supposed to cover getting dumped into the main mtg newsfeed.
i liked this miniseries a lot, but as a noted ashiok simp i think it's pretty upsetting how little we got of them tormenting elspeth. i uh assure you my interest in a scary enby torturing a girltwink is uh purely academic and stuff.
So this was terrible. It's all exposition. How about we let the art do the heavy lifting instead of these gods droning on and on. I could not have been less interested by the time this ended.
