best light novel

I think this is the best light novel. The story is amazing and very intriguing. Looking forward for the next book

This volume confirmed for me that my long-term involvement with this series is untenable. The narrative continues to develop is a way that I don't want, which is to say it's becoming more traditional and straying away from it began as. That may be better for most, but it's not for me. I find it to be far less interesting because there's so much that is similar but far better done.

This is unkind to say, but my enjoyment in this was never for the writing or what the author had to say. The latter has become a real annoyance. Not so much for the thematic content itself, but for how badly its presented. I don't think it's so much the translator's fault. For me one of the common problems with originally self-published works is that the creator experiences success and then attributes it to the wrong reasons. This then can lead the creator to have false beliefs that lead to delusional behaviors.

However, considering that this series still doesn't have any kind of overarching plot or direction, I find it difficult to fault the author for seeking some kind of structure in a more common webnovel style fantasy. Maybe the story can successfully transition to that, but I don't know that I'll stay around for it. There's also that I find myself unable to overlook the flaws that I had been. They're becoming too numerous and common. Eventually the benefit of the doubt wears off.

This volume takes place in a new city for the first time, but as I previously wrote, I'm not interested in murderhobo stuff and it's a murderhobo city. It's boring. Zig fights and fights. Siasha unleashes destruction. Carnage ensues. A new witch is introduced. The author is trying new stuff and becoming more ambitious, which normally I'd appreciate and enjoy, but that requires the commensurate writing ability to do so successfully. Based on what I've read so far, I'm not confident the author can manage that, so the shortcomings become ever more apparent. I don't know if the translator can either.

This two part volume honestly is a bit annoying and should have been just numbered as seven but that might be petty of me lol. That aside I can say that I did enjoy the story, or rather continuation of the previous volume. While Zig is searching for the people behind the blade bee incident for the guild he gets in a fight that transports him to Striggo. What is curious is it's the villain's blood that sends him and I hope we get some explanation for that later. Of course Zig being Zig he gets himself in trouble in more ways than one and ends up with another witch. We do get to find out some interesting things about witches and also expansion on the world setting in another city. Wasn't sure we would have witches on the new continent but here we go. Siasha, what can we say about this goddess of destruction. I have long felt that she had a love of sorts for Zig and by the end of the volume we pretty much get confirmation of it. It was nonetheless a wild ride and I am not sure how fully I liked it since there has been a lot of changes in people in the last few volumes. I am willing to keep reading since I am invested at this point and not totally turned off lol and that is also the nature of humans and witches, to change.
