Learn Spanish Substitution Method Joke Book

Rate this book
Learning a language doesn't have to be all 'blood, sweat and tears'.
I know how it can feel to study a foreign language, plodding through uninspiring textbooks full of dialogues such as “I am an American” and “How much is that cabbage?” It’s boring, it’s monotonous, and many people give up.

That's why you need this book!
It uses the subtitution method (AKA diglot weave) which enables you to dive straight in and read interesting, entertaining Spanish text without any prior knowledge of the language.

Containing over one hundred jokes in three sections, this book can be read and enjoyed just like a regular joke book. Spanish words and phrases are introduced into the text gradually and always in context, which means you can easily guess the meaning without having to reach for a dictionary. (But just in case, the book also includes instructions for downloading and installing a FREE Spanish-English dictionary to your kindle.)

Each joke has three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Choose your level and read the jokes in order or use the “<<” and “>>” links to navigate between levels for each joke.

FEATURES:
• Over one hundred jokes, 100% clean and quality-controlled!
• Substitution method (AKA diglot weave) means new language is presented in context - no need to consult a dictionary
• Thousands of Spanish words to expand your vocabulary
• Three levels for each joke, from mostly English to 100% Spanish
• Special links let you easily navigate between levels

With each joke presented in Learn Spanish: Substitution Method Joke Book, a word, which is used more than once, is eventually replaced with the Spanish equivalent. Through repetition, the reader is able to remember each Spanish word taught, with the eventual goal being that they will easily be speaking another language in a very short amount of time. While the text initially replaces easy words (eg. dog – perro, migraines – jaquecas, etc), more difficult translations take place as the book goes deeper into each joke, the likes of which contain subject matter related to job applications, medical visits, teaching, animals and more. On reaching the third section of the book, the reader is able to test how well they remember what they have learned, as the joke book loses English words entirely, thereby presenting itself completely in Spanish.

I was actually quite surprised by the amount of words I was able to remember, as time went on. Neil Roy McFarlane’s easy method to learning Spanish was not only effective, but extremely entertaining. The jokes included in the book were quite humorous, with each one causing me to laugh out loud (once I actually got the joke, that is). Although I am tri-lingual, being a speaker of my tribal language (Gubbi Gubbi), English and Finnish, as well as being fluent in two different forms of Sign Language, never before have I seen this particular style of teaching utilized in order to teach a new language. Each joke was fun, with new words filling my head in record time. I quite enjoyed Learn Spanish: Substitution Method Joke Book, and recommend it to those who are not only interested in acquiring a new language, but also in expanding on their sense of humor.

This book made it easier to remember words by replacement technique. It is written in spanglish-type that helps the reader be familiar with spanish vocabulary through a mild approach. Definitely a good book to read for first time spanish learners.
