***A crossover from the A Witch in the Woods Mystery Series!
Fourth of July in the Bermuda Triangle is supposed to be a day of fun—games for the kids, a baking contest full of sweet rivalries, and a community picnic leading into a glow-in-the-dark parade. As fireworks light the night sky, the celebration promises to be unforgettable.
But when Isla discovers the dead body of a mermaid in the midst of the festivities, the holiday takes a chilling turn. With the suspects blending into the patriotic chaos, PADA detective Isla Ceartas and demigod Jace Solari are on the chase...with the help of Glo, of course. Can they figure out who wanted the mermaid dead before the fireworks fade into the night?

A fourth of July fair that sounds like so much fun, I would love to be there. Everything magical on the island in the Bermuda Triangle. The parade is the highlight followed by fireworks, but this year there is one thing Isla and friends find odd. The reigning queen of the parade has stepped down to let Electra be the queen. Something is odd with Electra when during the parade she started behaving oddly. After the parade, while everyone was watching the show in the sky there is a scream. Isla and Glo race to check it out only to find Electra dead. The way she died is one thing that may help them find the murderer, but one thing they uncovered may be the reason. Was she blackmailing someone? They set out to expose the guilty person and in true small town life how many secrets will they expose? A truly delightful book that can be read as a stand alone and the visuals these two ladies create are a wonder!
As the group tries to enjoy another celebration, murder once again cuts their relaxing time short. An evil manipulating siren is killed and there is no shortage of suspects. Glo is ever helpful and there were good twists so I didn’t guess the killer.
The crime was committed and there were lots of clues and possible perpetrators. Fun people, interesting personal interactions and loved the final clue that solved it all. Excellent visit to the triangle!
Interesting storyline; a siren who used her gifts and talents to take advantage of everyone. Leaving lots of suspects. Surprises and twists leading up to the reveal. I really enjoyed the read.
