When Sonny, a burnt out rock musician abandons Los Angeles to return to his childhood village of Cheraton Priors, little does he know the impact it will have on him. The locals remain unaware of his fame and fortune as he takes refuge from his car crash of a life, touching the lives of three women, and falling in love with one of them. Tamsin, a failed writer, heavy drinker and single mother, locks herself away from the world, until the day Sonny knocks on her door in response to her handyman advert in the village store. Lacy is married to her tyrant headteacher husband Harry. She has all but resigned herself to a life without romance and laughter, until Sonny strolls into the Moon & Sixpence, sending the W.I meeting into a tizzy. Amelia is struggling in her rut as a primary school teacher, and with the disappearance of her twenty year old son Jamie. He left to go travelling on a gap year months earlier, but hasn't made contact since. Will Sonny's generosity and selfless intervention be enough to find him and bring him home? As Sonny's new found friends begin to let go of the unhappiness that's been holding them back, he in turn does the same. But can he truly swap his fame and fortune for life as a handyman in the sleepy village, and who will pocket his heart; love or Los Angeles?
I live in Warwickshire with my husband and gorgeous dogs. I have a son who has left home and a step-son. I enjoy writing short stories and have written three novels. I have received plenty of motivation and inspiration from my tutor Sue Johnson (author of Fables Fortune) and my co-writers at our writing group in Pershore. I have a great passion for music (especially the eighties) and listen to it whilst writing.
My three novels are available on Amazon in paperback and on Kindle.
My blog page is shellybettsauthor.blogspot.com.
If you read my novels and enjoy them, please be kind enough to leave reviews wherever possible. Thanks so much.
