It uses a variety of memorable examples not only from the health, behavioral, and social sciences, but also from everyday life to help drive home important topics and help students apply the material to their course of study. In addition, a unique collection of research-based learning aids promotes in-depth learning. I didn’t love this book but it gave me what I wanted, an introduction to (classical, non-Bayesian) statistical methods that I could read through on my own and understand without a class or instructor. Corty takes a chatty tone, which may be helpful or annoying depending on how it strikes you.
