The characters were well-developed, the plot was masterfully crafted, and the whole concept was truly interesting – I was hooked until the very end! I highly recommend it, and I'd love to read a sequel.

This was easily a 5 Star read! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book hooked me in from the first page making me wonder what's happening and wanting to find out more. It makes you go through all sorts of emotions while reading and although this may not be a read for just anyone, due to dark themes, it definitely was for me.

This book made me think about morality, humanity and all the human emotions. The author definitely knows just how to write in a complex, intelligent and thought-provoking way but still easy for any audience to understand.

This was my first book I read by Dana Enache and it will definitely not be the last. I was thoroughly impressed by this book and I feel I found another favorite author. It was definitely one of my best reads of October.

This is a very good story. It is well written and is not obvious in the journey.
The characters are well written and are nicely designed and interaction with each other is good.
There is a lot of violence and sex, mostly it works well and is understandable, why it is there.
This is a nice follow up to Vacation and Dreams, though are very different.

Finished the book last night, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thoroughly enjoyed this dystopian thriller with some great characters. the story is so well paced, it may be a cliche but this is a genuine page turner (or screen if on kindle).
Am already looking forward to more work from my favourite new author.

i am thoroughly enjoying reading this book There’s a rare vulnerability that makes the book feel intimate and relatable even though i hope no one has experienced it. The themes of healing, loneliness, desperation and inner strength are delivered with a warmth and wisdom i hadn't expected.

Stylistically, the language is elegant yet accessible, filled with vivid imagery and a rhythm that carries you forward. I am trying to pace myself and not finish it too quickly as I will miss it when its done.
Well done Dana , this is your best work to date

Evolution is a really entertaining mix of science fiction and horror. It's set in a recognisable future Earth where some members of humanity have evolved new abilities to either drain people of their energy or to heal them. Unsurprisingly there are those who would exploit this new world and harm people.

The book has some moments of genuinely creepy horror as well as a few explosions of gore, but for me where Dana Enache's writing really shines is when she describes the pain and anguish of a parent wanting to protect their children, as well as the fear of a child wanting to be brave and do the right thing. She captures the human side of the story wonderfully, and the whole thing moves with a good pace.

There are some issues with the text that detracted slightly from my reading experience but overall I enjoyed Evolution and will be looking for more of Dana's work to read.

Evolution” by Dana Enache is a gripping and thought-provoking story that dives deep into the human mind, control, and the haunting cost of progress. The book masterfully blends psychological tension with emotional depth, pulling you into a world where manipulation and morality collide.

Enache’s writing is sharp, hauntingly beautiful, and impossible to look away from. Each page feels like peeling back another layer of humanity—raw, unsettling, and yet deeply moving. What really stood out to me is how the story balances intellect and emotion; it makes you think and feel in equal measure.

If you enjoy dark, intelligent narratives that explore the boundaries of power, consciousness, and evolution itself, this is a must-read. Prepare to question everything by the final page.

This was an interesting blend of futuristic science fiction and horror. The villain was exceptionally awful as the story unfolded, and the heroes were easy to love. I especially liked the "gray area" journey that Dodo walked. Jack and Andrew were probably my favorite characters, though. I really enjoyed them, and I felt like the tension was nicely built toward an epic conclusion. There were quite a few spelling and grammatical errors, but I don't think that they detract from the story's strengths. Overall, a good read!

An interesting take on vampirism. As an avid sci-fi reader, I was very pleasantly surprised with how well this was crafted. There is a very nice mix of characters, both good and bad, and not everyone is quite as cut and dried as they seem. But all being told, it was a very worth while read.

Unpredictable, immersive, and emotionally.

There are many characters and each one well developed, with it's own motivations and emotional depth. You experience the story trough multipe characters - each perspective bringing deeper insight and adding emotional weight.

As a Software Engineer, I liked how AI is as well mentioned as part of day to day, that it makes our life better, though there are some specific dialogs where they mention about a historic event from which humanity had to change in the way was used/integrated.

I enjoyed reading this one.
