A Cute Reminder to Appreciate God's Creation

Roland Looks For God is a story about a duckling who likes to loiter. As a result he ends up in several tricky situations but is able to turn them around by convincing others to see God's thumbprint on the world around them.

Although the way Roland gets out isn't feasible in the real world, it is a truth sometimes you can make friends out of enemies and it is always wonderful to take the time to appreciate our natural world.

The book is fully illustrated although Roland doesn't look like an actual duckling as implied by the text. The backgrounds are well done but some of the animal characters are wackily portrayed.

The book also ends on a Bible verse that wraps everything together.

All in all it was a cute tale that can be used to help your little ones to appreciate both their Creator and His creation.

When Young Roland sets out following his mother along with his duckling siblings, he perhaps never expected to find three formidable foes who threaten to eat him for simply appearing before them. However, by using his kindness, sincerity, and respect for God's magnificent creation, he is able to befriend each one of them.

Roland Looks for God is a wonderful picture book that will surely be treasured for its brilliant message and wonderful illustrations. Young readers will adore the message behind the story-- that it is often much better to be kind and patient with those who test us and then we can share the wonderful story of God's creation with others.

This is a sweet story about a little duckling who is easily distracted by the beauty that god has created all around him. Fortunately his appreciation is contagious, and potential predators turn into friends as his enthusiasm wins them over. Children will be entertained and comforted by this charming little book.

A sweet and simple tale about curiosity, kindness, and seeing beauty in the world. I liked how Roland’s wonder turns danger into friendship. It’s such a gentle way to show children how goodness and faith can change how we see others. The story feels calm and hopeful, with a nice reminder that God’s creations are all around us.

I love the way the duckling keeps reminding us to see the wonders around us, as they often go unnoticed.
The illustrations are warm and colorful and well-suited to toddlers and young children.
