Gabby believes in true love. But Cupid and her best friend could use a little convincing…
I just stumbled into Cupid at a truck stop. Literally. And he’s hot. He could also use a pair of pants.
But when he checks his magical matchmaking list, neither my name nor my best friend Lamonte’s appears on it.
I think we should be.
We share an apartment and do everything together. Platonically. Painfully so, since my very real feelings for him are 100% unrequited.
We’re the perfect friends-to-lovers match. We’re just not matched.
Yet.
And if anyone can help me change that, it’s Cupid.
I just have to figure out how to convince Cupid to help me out while I’m on a Valentine’s Day weekend road trip with Lamonte. Then maybe my sweet, slow-burn crush can finally become something real.
But magic has rules, love has risks, and I might need more courage than Cupid’s willing to lend.
A cosy road trip romance with a touch of romantasy, Canadian charm, forced proximity, and slow-burn longing.
This is book three in Jean Oram’s series, Fairy Godmothers and Other Fiascos. It can be enjoyed as part of the series, or read as a standalone.

Jean lives in Canada with her husband, two kids, cat, dog, and the pesky neighbourhood rabbits that hop through her garden like it's an open salad bar. She can often be found outdoors or reading a book. (And of course at her laptop writing your next irresistible read!)

This is book 3 of the Fairy Godmothers and Other Fiascos series but can be read as a standalone. It has 54 chapters and an Epilogue. It is told from dueling POVs meaning each chapter is told from a different characters POV. I also enjoyed reading through the Glossary of Canadian Words at the beginning of the book. A lot of them are words Americans use daily (or should know) and then there are some that I definitely would not have known what they meant.
Based on the first half of the book I wasn’t expecting to give it this high of a rating. For me, I didn’t really start enjoying the story until Mars showed up at the hotel. From that point on, the book was a wonderful read! I just found the first half to be tiring. Gabby’s been in love with her bff Lamonte for forever. Lamonte is strictly against falling in love with anyone, much less his bff Gabby. It’s like the first half of the book is Gabby lamenting on how Lamonte will never love her but she’s been holding out hope for years. All I could think that if this had been swapped, then the guy character would have been an obsessive stalker and not just the quirky character hoping for their bff to finally fall in love with them. Idk. Just my opinion.
Cupid/Tanner was a great character and Estelle is the best fairy godmother a girl could ask for. I’m excited to read book 4 which is coming out later this year. I wouldn’t mind if Cupid made his way back into the upcoming stories somehow. Maybe him and Estelle could date!!
This is another winner from the fantabulous Jean Oram. Gabby doesn't believe in magical beings like some of her friends, but she is desperate to get Lamonte to notice her in a romantic way. While she loves their platonic relationship, she wants more. So, she calls on Estelle(everybody's favorite fairy godmother) to summon Cupid--after all, it is Valentine's Day weekend when they set out on a road trip. Cupid turns out to be quite the hunk and seemingly uninterested in helping Gabby. Does Gabby get her HEA? Of course, she does because this is a Jean Oram romcom. I urge you to read it and find out what shenanigans occur before Lamonte realizes what he truly feels for Gabby. I recommend reading the first two books in the series as well, because this is a delightful set of books that will change(for the better) your ideas on fairy godmothers and all the magical folk in the world.

This was a cute fairy godmother story. Gaby is in love with her best friend, Lamont, but thinks she needs a little help from her fairy godmother and Cupid to make him love her in return. But wishes and Roman gods can cause mayhem when it comes to love!
This is book 3 in a series. I don't think it was necessary to read the first two books to enjoy this one (I haven't read them), but some of the characters and events mentioned would probably make a little more sense if you had read the previous books.
This is a clean, closed-door romance with a HEA. No spice, no swearing - just kisses.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a fun series where we visit with fairy godmother's and in this one we get Cupid. I really enjoyed Gabby and Lamonte’s story. These two have been best friends for years and love has grown between them. Lamonte is afraid to love which brings in Cupid and Estelle and takes us on a fun journey to their HEA. The story grabbed me from the beginning, made laugh and left me with a smile. I anxiously await the next book.
Gabby and Lamonte are best friends, but Gabby wants more. A road trip over valentines weekend, a little help from a Fairy Godmother and a chance run in with Cupid, are all that is needed to push these two into each other's arms. There are lots of mishaps when Estelle is involved and she nearly causes a war with the Gods but somehow it all turns out ok. Another fun read in this series.
Another fabulous story in this "Fairy Godmothers and Other Fiascos" series. Once again Estelle is the Fairy Godmother that is called for. Yes! The same Fairy Godmother who bungled her way through Char and Tamara magical mishaps. This time Gabby wants to consult Cupid and ends up with Estelle's "help" making that happen. Be prepared to laugh, swoon, and be surprised at life with with the Roman God who isn't a chubby little baby! A delightful portrayal of the God of Love and his method of getting his job done!
