As a small Gothic werewolf, Annette already has the world stacked against her. From her fashion sense, to her height, not to mention other things such as being a female alpha, she never quite fit. She thought she had her life planned be the leader her pack needed, and avoid mates altogether. That plan, however, was ruined by a rogue wolf crashing into her life - and through her window. Now, Annette needs to navigate pack politics and her growing attraction to this new wolf. A mystery wolf with his own set of trauma and troubles following him. Can Annette keep her pack and her heart safe, while still staying true to herself?
Annette is not just a werewolf, but a GOTHIC werewolf. Not only that, but she's the alpha of her pack. She always thought she'd be a leader with no mate, until a rogue wolf came crashing into her life. No, seriously. CRASHING. Like, through the window crashing. Yes, I'm serious. Annette finds herself in a precarious situation, having to navigate politics of the pack AND her feelings toward this mystery wolf. But he's got his own troubles. Can Annette do it all? Can she protect her pack and her heart without losing herself?
I like how the wolves aren't just the stereotypical horror flick monsters we've gotten a little too used to. The real fears and insecurities Annette has make her feel like she's just like anyone else. She's easy to relate to as a character.
The story was very fast paced. However, I did really enjoy the dual POV and the depth it added to the plot--I like being able to read a story from two perspectives. Fast pace aside, the story was well written and I LOVE the representation of asexuality!! I feel soooo seen and because of that, I'm giving this four alpha stars!

Side note: if you ever feel broken, read my words and know you're not alone. I love you!!
I devoured this book in one go. I loved how considerate Antonio was of Annette and admired how far he was willing to go and how much he was willing to give up to be with her.
The integration of asexuality as well as same-sex mates were equally unique and I loved that it was used to carry the plot forward.
My only qualm was that I was constantly waiting for the burn of the slowburn to hit- the passion and the intensity, but it never did. Asexuality should definitely be included in the tropes list, because I expected a bit more fire🔥.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review❤️❤️
I really enjoyed the story, the characters were engaging and I loved how sweet Antonio was to Annette throughout the story. This was a really good read and I enjoyed it so much!
