In two weeks I'm going to attend my first excursion for uni (we're visiting various castles in the historic territory of Tyrol) and for this I have to prepare a presentation on the Teutonic Order. And what better to read than the history from a Hochmeister himself?

Tumler did a great job briefly detailing 800 years of history from the founding in Palastine up to the publication (1948) and I gained a lot of knowledge. Overall, a perfect read for Beginners on the topic.

Excellent overview of the Knights Teutonic Order. In 103 pages, the author provides the reader with quality insight into the social, political, economic factors of the knights' tumultuous history.
