THE GREAT BRIDAL ESCAPE, by Bonnie Tucker
Mary Kathryn O'Malley wanted to get married and it seemed that she and Seth would be perfect for each other. At least according to her parents, who had carefully planned the match. On her wedding day when the preacher asked if she'd take Seth for her groom, and she said, "No," everyone at the church was shocked. A "no" from from never-rock-the-boat or make waves, Mary Kathryn? Not even she could believe she had done what she had done. Where in the world had that surge of spunk came from? And she wasn't through yet. By high noon she had left the groom at the altar, answered only to the name "Kate" (never to be a Mary Kathryn again) and was heading to Texas with Tony Donetti—the gorgeous best man. Oh well, what's done is done. She might as well relax and enjoy the ride. Especially because Tony had his own reasons for wanting to keep her by his side.

HOW TO CATCH A GROOM, by Holly Jacobs
Desdemona Smith follows her heart, and that's what led her to begin her own business as a wedding consultant. But this particular wedding lands with a thud when the bride runs away, and Desi's left to pick up the pieces...and the groom. Seth Rutherford, a college professor and researcher, is a logic-loving man who follows his head. He's lost his bride, a woman who was perfectly suited to him...a logical choice in a wife. But Desi assures him love isn't logical, and Seth soon discovers neither is Desi. She has him chasing down wedding cakes, dodging garters and lusting after a woman who is his opposite. Why can't he seem to get enough of Desi Smith?

The Great Bridal Escape was not a very good book. I just about didn't finish it. It didn't seem to flow and the characters I don't feel ever got really developed. Did like How to Catch a Groom. It was just a simple romance book.

The Great Bridal Escape by Bonnie Tucker

The fantasy dream Mary Kathryn O’Malley had the night before her wedding rehearsal was enough to scorch her sheets and play with her conscience. Marrying Seth was the right thing to do; they were colleagues, best friends and her parents were ecstatic with the match. Only Mary Kathryn couldn’t get her dream out of her mind, esp. as the man who featured had been faceless; could it have been Seth? Tony Donetti had known Cara from the day they both were born and had been placed side by side in the hospital nursery. It only made sense that their friendship could lead to a happy marriage, so he decided to give in to the pressure of their mothers and asked Cara to marry him. He was sure the passion would come in time. But that was mere minutes before he’d met his best friend Seth’s fiancée and the instantaneous spark they shared. No way was this beauty a Mary Kathryn she was a Kate and when he called her that he was entranced with the sparkle that lit her face, and then suddenly disappeared when Seth reminded him that she was Mary Kathryn. Kate was unhappy and Tony was not at all surprised that at the altar she just couldn’t say I do. He hadn’t bargained that she’d hide in his SUV and he’d been forced to take her to Houston. What Tony didn’t know was that the dream Kate had the night before was no longer faceless, he’d been the star!

Oh this was hilarious! I loved Tony and Kate. What a perfect match! Both are having feelings of guilt over their lustful thoughts for the other, esp. as Tony is engaged. He keeps telling himself that he’s pond scum and forces himself to picture Cara instead of Kate in his fantasies, which really doesn’t work. Kate so desperately wants Tony but she respects his pledge to another. I loved their internal dialogues and their witty banter. This one is laugh out loud hysterical with some delicious sizzle to delight!

How to Catch a Groom by Holly Jacobs

Jilted at the altar, Seth Rutherford agrees to go ahead with the wedding reception and proceeds to get bombed. The only highlight to the party is that he finally realizes who his wedding planner is; she’s the cute gal who leant him a transformer for his science project in high school. Desdemona Smith had a huge crush on Seth in school but he’d barely noticed her. Now she finds herself giving his sloshed self a ride home and finding him all too attractive and not at all sorry that the wedding didn’t happen. Of course, she’s angry with the ex-bride Kate, and believes Seth deserves much much better; that is until Seth fesses up and says that he’d never really been in love with Kate, there’s was a union that seemed logical. After all they were both scientists and worked together and they hadn’t even slept together. So Desi is disappointed that adorable but nerdy Seth doesn’t have a romantic bone in his sexy body. When Desi’s assistant leaves her in the lurch the following weekend, she calls Seth to fill in, she’s figures he owes her one for the ride home and helping him not look foolish at his reception. Seth hasn’t been able to stop fantasying about Desi, which he finds utterly confusing. Both fight their attraction believing that the fact they are opposites make them a terrible match. That is until Desi shows Seth how great it is to let go and laugh a little.

Seth is the jilted groom from Bonnie Tucker’s “The Great Bridal Escape” and it was wonderful reading how he stumbles into the love. Seth’s always shied away from exuberant personalities; his parents were always overwhelming with emotions. So it was hilarious watching him find his way with the very flamboyant disorganized Desdemona. Desi is a huge romantic, thus her career choice. Knowing how straight laced Seth has always been, she’s very touched when he tries very hard to be romantic for her. These two make a great pair. This is a charming, cleverly witty love story that was fun to read.
