Royce: Forever An Atkins

Rate this book
Royce Atkins doesn’t need an introduction simply because the city is his. His name is on a plethora of things from legal to illegal and no one dares to take it from him. Women aren’t thought about because the family business takes precedence. Also, he’s spoiled and entitled. Whatever he wants is always in reach. He’s on everyone’s radar and he knows it. However, he never cared.

Klarity Monroe is dealt a hand that couldn’t produce any wins. A single mother trying her best for her and her kids. She depends on no one but that keeps her in a position where success isn’t accessible so easily. Every time she thinks things are looking up, there’s that one factor that knocks her down. Maybe she needs an Atkins to clear the way.

Where one was born into money and the other struggles to get some, they find themselves accepting a fairytale as reality. One can buy a lifestyle several times over but isn’t above scheming to get what they want. Being told no just makes them go harder.

This was disappointing, the story telling was lack luster and the love connection wasn’t well executed. The FMC gave dummy from the beginning of the book until the end. Royce stepped in and stepped up but him and miss girl did not know each other like AT ALL was he supportive postpartum YES but we did not see them forging a worthwhile bond or connection. Klarity was too easily swayed by money and essentially spineless and dumb. I also felt like the author played when she included serenity and then she’s barely mentioned again… FMC only got a lil bit of family this her fav cousin and we seen her through every chapter in the beginning we get to the chapter after delivery and barely see them interact. Klarity was just a bird and idek how old she’s supposed to be but get on birth control something. Talked about cojack derailed her life but proceeds to put her life in another mans hands that she don’t know from a can of paint INSANITY

It took me three days to reach to 47% in this book and I finally decided to DNF. I’m not torturing myself anymore.🥴.

I really need authors to get back to writing real urban fiction romances, with real storylines and plots. I need authors to get off of booktok while writing because I’ve DNF’d so much books this summer what felt like the authors had a tik tok checklist. The writing does not feel authentic to the authors brand AT ALL. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️.

I feel like this author was trying so hard to create an “unhinged” character in Royce to the point where it was cringey af. He just came off as an overgrown spoiled man, out of touch with reality, and financially abusive (the hospital scene with him coercing her to move in with him). It wasn’t cute or attractive.

Klarity was just an air headed bird brain from the jump and nothing I despise more in books than a weak, naive, lost, dummy, no back bone having FMC. You putting your whole paycheck on that man books in jail while you have one toddler, pregnant with another and not putting anything on any of your bills??? You’re on the verge of being evicted with light, water and wifi being disconnected. You’re 8 months pregnant and don’t have ANYTHING for the baby as yet but you still going up to the prison every week? Yeahhhhh wrap it up.

I won’t ever get the time back it took for me to read this book ……..😒 Royce was so delusional and not in a good way. How can you call this book a romance book when they didn’t even go on one date. I wanted to like this book, but Royce really annoyed because he never listened to Klarity. It was always about what he wanted and he always threw it back in her face that he upgraded her lifestyle and buys her new things. Klarity wasn’t even really able to make a decision on if she truly wanted to be with him. Lowkey the plot was lack luster and I expected more.

Big delulu!

I wanted to like this more, but I really felt like the romance between Klarity and Royce was nonexistent. Klarity herself seemed stupid, like, girl, you are pregnant and also have a two-year-old, but you aren't going to pay the bills at your house because you're putting ALL the money on that man's books?! Make it make sense! If nothing else, this book is entertaining because Royce wasn't all there, and his delusions and audacity were of epic proportions.

Lowkey stalked, kidnapped, arranged marriage and unhinged MMC!

Royce was absolutely unhinged and slightly insane, BUT never played about Klarity or “their kids”! Royce needed a wife, and Klarity needed an out from her current stressors in life. Now I will say that Klarity, for about 80% of the book, drove me insane wanting to be Ms Independent and not let Royce take the lead. He was crazy, but not to her or the kids! This book was so good, and the backstory of their family drama has me ready for the next book! We need answers to a few things! Overall, a fun dark mafia romance and my first read by this author!

This was such a good book I just hate how it ended with so many unanswered questions

I know this book is just the first but I low key want the next books to still be on Royce and Klarity… like I’m not done with their story at all. I do kinda wish the ending was different and she wasn’t pregnant. Like idk I’m not a big fan of pregnancy when you just popped out a baby. That’s just me.

But like I said It ended on a cliffhanger tbh. I honestly forgot he had someone after him until the very end. So is Bentley like his cousin??? If yes why is he after him and is the brother in on it too like idkkkk

Another thing I didn’t like was the storyline about the daddddd omg. Like I know it’s gonna make the other books juicy so I’m not too too mad about it but I loved Senior, yeah he was kinda…. But he gave loyal.. it seemed like he was loyal to his family and that just made my stomach drop. I can’t imagine the hurt Iris has and iris is that girl fr she’s everything a mom/wife she be and she did not deserve that. He gave supportive husband and father and now… eww

Other than that tho I really really enjoyed this book. If the next book isn’t a continuation of their story I would loveeee it to be about Heidi she just givesssss bad bitch energy I wanna see the man God gives her (why do I lowkey want her and the yonnis tg. They didn’t have not 1 “scene” tg but idkkk I feel like it’ll give something)

I read it.

I am normally a Connie Easton fan. I will forever love the Cambridge Crew but this book... Royce... I am somewhere around 2.5 stars. I liked the idea but not the execution. The inconsistencies could not be overlooked. The writing in this one just seemed different from her usual.

The FMC's relationship with her cousin & aunt was very strong in the beginning & then there was nothing else of significance mentioned.

The plot was underdeveloped. It didn't flow. It was very inconsistent. Royce was not unhinged he was spoiled & completely out of touch, borderline abusive. Klarity was naive, weak, lazy & honestly very lost.

Delulu, Spoiled & Dead Serious About His Woman 😭🔥

⭐️ 5/5

Royce was spoiled, delusional, and had main character syndrome bad — but baybeee, when it came to Klarity, he ain’t play no games 😮‍💨. Quick, wild, and had me side-eyeing but still rooting for him the whole time 😂👏🏾

(3.5⭐️) Cappadonna + Lequay + Ocean = Royce😂The level of delusion was insane. And the levels he went to, to ensure that Klarity & the kids were his were outrageous. Despite his insanity though he was an attentive acts of service king, and I loved that for her. I didn’t care for her much as an FMC (until towards the end.) She spent a good majority of the book getting on my nerves because of how silly she was about her BD, comparing Royce & BD, and then the constant indecision about her situation with Royce. I get it though trauma plus being forced into a situation will have you all over the place. In the end what she wanted didn’t matter anyway because that man said “you have two choices: love me and be happy or be happy and love me”🤣But still for whatever reason she just irked me. Things got unexpectedly emotional and took a turn at the end (likely to set up for future books). So it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. I have a couple of other criticisms but overall this was entertaining.

I really don’t like how weak Klarity is and how she just let men control her without standing her grounds. Like she was about to get evicted and utilities cut off because she was neglecting her household putting money on Cojak’s books when he didn’t show her any appreciation and constantly talked crazy to her. He didn’t even ask about nor care about their kids and she should’ve cut him off way before she found out about his other baby momma. Klarity only knew Royce three days and she agrees to move in with him who was basically a stranger that she knew nothing about. She has a degree in finance but signed a stack of papers without reading them and then she’s angry when she finds out that they’re married like he didn’t previously manipulate her to give Essence his last name. I really wanted to know how old Klarity was because she kept making and accepting childish decisions. Royce had narcissistic tendencies and basically bullied so everything would go his way. I think that Klarity should’ve told Royce that she suspected that he had a sibling out there. I really don’t like how the booked abruptly ended without any clarity on who Bentley nor Genesis were nor why Bentley was gunning for Royce. I guess we’ll find out in the next book.

“She avoided answering me which told me everything I needed to know. As much as I loved her, I could put her in a grave with a headstone just as beautiful as she was. Playing with me should’ve been more thought out. Waking up grieving my wife every day would tear me a part but nevertheless it would be done with my kids by my side.”

Where do I even begin????
What in the world was this book about?
I clearly know the difference between fiction and reality but thisssss
Royce is the most disgusting fictional man I've ever come across
Y'all call this love?
must be sick in the head or something

Worst book I've read all year fr

For the book itself, I don't even have words
Senseless Characters
Spineless FMC
This book was pointless
It was like everyone was on drugs or something
Sucking Royce penis because he doesn't listen to NO?
I pity CJ.... probably turn out like his stepfather

I just want to erase this book from my head

Royce is THAT Dude!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

NO SPOILERS…. Royce: Forever An Atkins is the kind of urban fiction that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. Connie Easton gives us an unforgettable book bae who is unhinged in the best way possible—think intensity turned all the way up. Royce is DELUSIONAL and you will love him! He’s magnetic, unpredictable, and the type of character you know you shouldn’t love but absolutely do.

Balancing that wild energy is the MFC, who brings depth, grounding, and a spark all her own. Together, their dynamic makes the story addictive and impossible to put down. The way he loves her—flawed, fierce, and consuming—pulls the whole book together and gives it heart.

If you enjoy urban fiction with high tension, raw emotion, and a couple you can’t stop rooting for, Royce: Forever An Atkins is a must-read. Five stars without a doubt. I’m hoping we hear more from this family because all them Atkins lowkey NUTS!

I love me an unhinged man!!! Royce walked into Klarity’s life, applied pressure and never let off of the gas! Did I love the way he handled everything, No. Would I have folded like Klarity, Absolutely 😂! He may have been spoiled and hated the word no but he was also attentive, caring and was ready to burn the world down behind his loved ones. Plus you couldn’t tell that man that those weren’t his blood.

It’s something about a delusional man that I just loveeeeeeeee. I love a rich, spoiled, big d energy MMC mixed with a little crazy that just does it for me. We are meant to be. (That’s your man? Yes, that’s my man.)

I came for the contrast, the lifestyle gap, and the question of whether money and power can really turn into something real. Royce and Klarity gave classic fairytale but messy energy, and that’s exactly my kind of vibe.

I need more though because I got 1000 questions lol. Why did the sons not visit their mother? What’s up with these two outside Children??? Why is Bentley out to get Royce??? I need answers lol

“People show you who they are all the time. Our problem is never believing them.”

Wait because I’ve started to cry now that I've finished reading. You know Royce is the definition of the word delusional but I swear I love him ten times more because of it. Royce did not care about anything besides his family and his money and I respect it. Once Klarity’s water broke and Royce went straight to catering to Klarity I knew their love story was going to be epic. He was literally giving her everything she needed before my girl even fully knew the man much less had a conversation with him.

Once Klarity finally gave in to Royce my scream of joy could be heard around the world if you listened closely. Plus I love when a female main character is fine with her man buying her things. Because if not girl, just give me that man's card and I’ll buy stuff for myself. I was ready to hurt Klarity myself though when she went back to visit that good for nothing ex-boyfriend and he did what he did to my sweet baby CJ! I don’t care what anyone says CJ is definitely my little nephew and I would burn the world down for him. But seriously girl, why would you do that without Royce by your side? I mean he would've probably disapproved at the very mention of that loser but my heart rate would’ve still been at a normal rhythm.

I am begging for a bonus chapter where Klarity and Royce have a real wedding!! I couldn’t wait to look up what type of dress she would get. This book was so freaking funny and I swear the funny moments would happen at the most random times. Like Royce and Serenity’s arguments were hilarious, they truly acted like brother and sister and I needed more of their relationship.

Now chapter 19 where the Will was read will stay with me forever. I wish I was a fly on the wall when it occurred rather than an outside reader reading about it! I was ready to throw hands for the sake of Mrs. Iris.

P.S. I learned Chick fil a sells chicken tenders.strips so thank you Connie for this information!

Klarity + Royce = L.O.V.E

Connie Easton is a great storyteller that has you engaged from the tiniest detail. Royce was one of the most chaotic, overbearing, sneaky, spoiled, and sweetest MMC I’ve ever read in a while. He knows how to play the game and score every time, yet he was truly in for a ride with Klarity. Their connection was strong from the start—despite her going into labor after being ambushed by him—even the banter between the two was cute!

Klarity’s life wasn’t easy especially dealing with a no good , pathetic excuse of a man. She may have been defiant with the forced marriage/marriage of convenience with Royce, but she came around. She knew his ways of getting what he wants was crazy. It may be but it was all for love. The banter, the chemistry, the drama? 10/10! I cannot wait to read the second book on the black sheep of the family 🤭

Royce Atkins was a damn fool. Crazy is truly an understatement bc this man and the word No just didn’t go together. He thru adult tantrums that made folks fall in line.

The step daddy trope is hands down my favorite of all time and when Royce said CJ & Essence were his kids he meant that, not for play but for real real! And he made sure to let their sperm donor know that he was snatching his family and dared him to check him about it.

The relationship building with the kids on page was flushed out really well, the overall Atkins family dynamic was a bit all over the place. I think this is due to this being the introduction to the family it just felt rushed and like bug elements were missing. I am excited about this series overall and hope I get the answers to my questions as the series progresses.

Lordy 😮‍💨

I have feelings of conflict, on one hand yes to Royce for stepping up and being the protection and man that Klarity needed. On the other hand, Royce was way too spoiled. He lacked so much accountability. It was crazy. I think within his need to make his family one I would have liked to see them enjoying each other a little more because it was mostly was just him, forcing her to be with him. And yes, they did end up falling in love. I wish I could’ve saw a little more of them and enjoying married life with their children before they added the third baby. Good read just needed a little more development in the love area.

Unbelievable that someone can come into your life, tell you he loves you and change everything. That is exactly what Royce did for Klarity, her son CJ and newborn baby girl Essence. From a 🌎 of poverty to a life of luxury and lifelong security.

Talk about instLOVE!!!! Royce is by far the most delusional and obsessive MMC of all times. He lived in his own world of reality and I blame his family as they are just as crazy as he is. He laid his eyes on Klarity while she was on a jail visit with her kid's father. Royce said.... I'll take her and those kids, they are mine now...and he meant that. This book was a good time, it just felt rushed towards the end. The a second book in this duology is available so maybe once I read that one I will have the answers to some of the questions I had ending this book. Hopefully we will get a little more storyline development as well.
Overall I enjoyed the book. I gave it a 3.5⭐️
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I read it again: Probably not

If this was just about a lady with no kids and these events took place, I'd MAYBE be more on board....but there is no way in hell I would bring a man I don't know anything about and his family around my kids. At one point in this book Klarity barely saw her son. Who leaves there kids with strangers?!

Everyone in this book was dumb, but the dumbest had to be Klarity. I don't care how much that man did for you and the kids she literally hopped from one messy situation to the next. I kept wondering where her cousin Serenity disappeared to.

I am just a lost gal regarding the events that transpired within this book. 🫠🫠
