When young Emil Garrett heads west in search of a new work opportunity, he lands a position that suits him perfectly, hiring on as a shotgun messenger with a small stagecoach operation in central Kansas. But Garrett, a hired gun with a growing reputation, does the job his own way, using an approach many view as unconventional.
The company Garrett works for, Walker & Creed, has a competitor in the Stavin Brothers Stage Lines. Unfortunately, Stavin Brothers’ owner, Max Stavin, doesn’t play by the regular rules of business. Rather than compete fairly, Stavin seeks to gain the upper hand through shady and violent means. Stavin’s ultimate goal is to bankrupt Walker & Creed—a move that would give Stavin Brothers a monopoly in the region.
