Report on the excavations in advance of roadworks along the route of Ermin Street from Cricklade, past Cirencester and northwards to Birdlip on the way to Gloucester. The thrity five sites included two BA ring ditches, three Middle IA settlements, two late IA enclosures, a Roman settlement at Birdlip and a medieval kitchen block; there were also a number of discoveries relating particularly to the Roman road including seven cross-sections, a roadsie funerary monument, trackways and a late Roman midden. A summary discusses the sites in their regional context.
