Tarian lost her for eight hundred years. He won’t let her go again.

Kenna Murillo’s biggest concern should be passing organic chemistry—not the dragon shifter who crashes into her life, furious, half-feral, and swearing she belongs to him.

But Tarian has spent centuries imprisoned, cursed to live without the one soul who was always meant to be his. Now he’s free—and so is she. Only, the ones who killed her previous incarnations? They never stopped hunting. And this time, they don’t just want her dead. They want to unmake her.

Kenna can deny the past. She can fight the pull between them. She can run.

Or she can stand beside the dragon who would burn everything down—except her.

This is part of a series but I hadn’t read any of the previous stories before reading this one. It works as a standalone, though it now has me curious about other characters and their stories!

This was a quick, enjoyable read. The FMC, Kenna, and MMC, Tarian, are likable characters. I really felt for Tarian when no part of Kenna recognized him at all upon their first meeting. I also felt bad for Kenna and how weirded out she was by this gorgeous but strange, unfamiliar man.

I enjoyed the chemistry between the two characters. The scenes in the cave had great conversation and it was endearing to watch these two characters come together.

If you like paranormal romance, shifters, burn the world for her, reincarnation, talking dogs, and some pleasantly spicy scenes, then you will enjoy this.

Just really meh.

I noticed that Alexander was using AI for her covers and ads videos, but apparently she is also using AI for the writing and that just really pisses me off. I’m declaring a moratorium on reading her books, even when they’re free on KU.

Dragon's Flame is the eighth novel in Cassie Alexander’s Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds series of steamy paranormal romance. I haven’t read any of the previous books yet, and I thought it worked fine as a stand-alone.

Dragon shifter Tarian survived hundreds of years of torture by focusing on thoughts of reuniting with his human mate, with whom he’s magically bonded. He’s now free and searching California for her, guided by that bond. Since he’s unfamiliar with modern Earth, humorous problems ensue.

After surviving a fire that destroyed her home and killed her family, college student Kenna just wants to pass her exams and become a doctor. When Tarian barges into her life claiming that she’s his mate, she is seriously weirded out, as anyone would be. Life quickly becomes increasingly strange for her as a date goes horribly wrong and people start trying to kill her.

The story is fast-paced, suspenseful, and steamy, with humor provided by awkward situations, witty banter, and Rocky, the street dog Tarian befriends who can speak with him. I appreciated Kenna’s strength and independence, and Tarian’s willingness to accept her as an individual who is not the same person he originally fell in love with. They were both easy to root for, and I was happy to see them find a hard-won happy ending that surprised me.

I enjoyed the dual narration by Bunny Warren for Kenna’s point of view and Matthew Holland for Tarian’s point of view. Both narrators have good enunciation and pacing, pleasant voices that suit the characters, and the ability to convey the emotions and intensity of the story effectively. The audiobook production was good, and the story works very well in audio.

I recommend this book for fans of steamy paranormal romance. Note that the book contains violence, swearing, and explicit sex scenes.

I received a free ARC and an advanced listener’s copy of the audiobook from the author. I volunteered to provide an honest review.

Dragon Shifter's soul mate

This is a fun, steamy, paranormal romance; with plenty of twists and a great story. Part of the
"Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds" (it was nice to see Damien and Rax again) though it can be read as a standalone - and I would definitely recommend it.

Tarian had been imprisoned for 800 years and tortured by the sirens, the only thing that had kept him going was the dream of finding Seris, his one love, when he was freed. She'd 'died' before he was imprisoned but he'd linked their souls and knew he would find her again. But when he does she's now Kenna and the only thing she's concerned about, other than her medic coursework, is that she's being kidnapped by a stranger (even if he is hot).

The first time Kenna meets Tarian he seems to be a homeless person who seems to be intense about something, she thinks it might be drugs. But while on a date with a man she's known online for a while, he turns up again with a dog, looking a lot smarter, takes her and runs.

But not everything is as it would seem, Tarian is cautious to show her his dragon side; and the date he took her from, is still very keen to find her again.

A great read with wonderful chemistry between the MC's, a talking dog, dragon shifters, "burn the world for her" vibes, spicy romance and a HEA. - I was lucky enough to have both the e-book and audio version. The narrators, Matthew Holland and Bunny Warren, bring the characters to life in a wonderful way, really adding their emotions along with their fear of and love for each other.

Thank you Cassie for letting me read the ARC for this book. I loved reading it and would definitely recommend.

Tarian and Seris (Kenna) . . .

Tarian was kept from Seris for 800 years and now he is ready to search for her. Their bond tied them together and he could sense she was still alive. She had been human and he didn't want her to age and die while his dragon lived on, so he used forbidden magic on her, a piece of his soul. When she supposedly "died", he knew that was impossible and she had been taken from him. He held prisoner by the Sirens who tortured him and remained locked up with them for 800 years until his brother Rax saved him.

Kenna and her friend Sarah were at a coffee shop, studying organic chemistry -- at least Kenna was. Sarah was going through her phone to pick out a date for that night. Four years ago, her family died in a fire that only Kenna survived. But she wears long sleeves and jeans, even in the heat, to cover her scars. In fact, the fire had put her on the path of becoming a plastic surgeon to help others reclaim their confidence after such injuries. Sarah pointed out a gorgeous gigantic man had entered the coffee shop, but Kenna ignored him... until he stood next to her! He asked to touch her and she firmly said NO. Sarah got two baristas to ask him to leave.

Tarian had never thought Seris would ask him to leave. She hadn't remembered him! She had obviously lived many lifetimes while he was a prisoner. How could he help her to remember him and the life they had planned together? Others are also looking for her, wanting to put a permanent end to her, and she will be in great danger. Will she let herself trust the dragon who loves her with all his heart? Or will she put herself at risk by trying to keep him away?

I just finished Dragon’s Flame by Cassie Alexander, and this book grabbed me right from the start. The pacing is sharp, the tension builds in all the right places, and the world feels so alive, I had no trouble picturing the scenes like a movie in my head.
Tarian is a whole vibe, showing up in a jaguar, yet unshowered, crashing into Kenna’s life, claiming she belongs to him. But Tarian isn’t just brute strength. There’s weight in his centuries-lost, half-feral state. Also, he can talk to animals. Shout out to Rocky, the real star. Kenna is well grounded, and she may smell like Clinique Happy. Her life isn’t magical (initially), and her reactions like fear, disbelief, and reluctance, feel believable. On one side: cosmic destiny, centuries of history, dragon rage. On the other: realistic modern stakes, chemistry class, the kind of irritations everyday people deal with. That makes the romance feel earned rather than inevitable.

What I really loved was how the fantasy and romance elements blend. The dragons, the danger, the heat between the characters all just click together without feeling forced. The heroine is strong but still relatable, and the chemistry practically sparks off the page. It never drags, and every chapter pushes things forward in a way that makes it impossible to put down.
If you’re in the mood for something that’s adventurous, a little fiery (pun intended), and pretty immersive, Dragon’s Flame is your go-to, especially if you like romance with a side of magic, transformation, and destiny.

Dragon’s Flame by Cassie Alexander is a steamy, action-packed paranormal romance that stands well on its own despite being book eight in the Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds series.

Tarian, a dragon shifter scarred by centuries of torture, searches for his reincarnated human mate, Kenna, in modern California. His confusion with the modern world adds humor, while Kenna’s shock at his sudden arrival keeps things believable and grounded.

The chemistry between the two is electric—especially during their quieter cave scenes—and I loved the balance of suspense, spice, and emotional depth. The talking dog sidekick adds heart and humor, softening some darker edges.

Alexander’s signature style shines here: flawed, scarred characters who earn their healing and love. The pacing is snappy, with alternating POVs that keep the tension alive. While it leans heavily into the “fated mates” trope, the mystery and emotional growth make it feel fresh.

If you enjoy dragon shifters, reincarnated love, fiery passion, and a touch of humor amidst danger, this one’s a great pick.

What’s it about?

Tarian is a dragon shifter who put part of his soul in his human mate 800 years ago. Then he was captured by sirens. Now he’s finally free and in search of his mate. But when he finds her, Kenna doesn’t remember him at all. But Kenna’s life is in danger, and Tarian will protect her at all costs, even if it means flying her away from her home.

My thoughts:

Always, always love a Cassie Alexander book. They always have a touch of weird mixed with an exciting plot and excellent spice. This one is no exception. I also love that there is sort of a Spirited Away vibe to some of this. The villain took me by surprise, and I was invested from start to finish. I loved the chemistry between Tarian and Kenna, and would have loved to see more with the other dragons.

As always, Matthew Holland and Bunny Warren continue to be among my favorite narrators. Great, quick, fiery read!

Dragon’s Flame is an exciting quick read, and although part of a series, can absolutely standalone. Tarian, after being rescued from the sirens by his brother Rex, is singleminded in his focus to return to and claim his mate Seris. But, she has been reincarnated over and over during their 800 years apart and now as Kenna, a pre-med student focused on her studies, has no memory of him and no inclination to get to know this somewhat terrifying and unhinged man!
There is a lot more to the world than Kenna knows however and when a strange group seems to be targeting her, she finds herself giving her trust and her heart to the one person who will always do anything for her.
Sweet and humorous with non stop action and a satisfying HEA 😊

Dragon’s Flame is a spicy eighth book in the author’s Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds series.
Tarian a dragon shifter has been imprisoned for hundreds of years and now free is on a hunt for the mate he lost and now must find.
This was an enjoyable, nicely written adventure filled with passion, intrigue, a possessive dragon, action, and danger because he isn’t the only one looking for her. MFC Kenna just wants to get through her next college exam when Tarian bursts into her life and upends it completely, she doesn’t know who he is but what an adventure soon follows. Very entertaining reading!.

After Tarian being imprisoned for centuries he is released in the modern world looking for his Seras, his other half. Except she has been reincarnated as Kenna, and she doesn't remember him, the first time she meets him; both Kenna and Sara think Tarian is a homeless man that is on drugs. Until Tarian abducts Kenna while she is on a date with a man that she has met online, and the most delicious, sexiest abduction ensues.

What a great dragony adventure!!! This one has a little more angst I think than some of Cassie’s others, as Tarian has been suffering for 800 years without his mate…And now that he’s found her…. She doesn’t remember him…he doesn’t fit in in this modern Realm and has no idea how to help her remember…all while trying to save her from the others trying to end her. This is full of adventure, love, angst, danger, and of course has some of Cassie’s awesome sexy scenes.

3-⭐️ paranormal romance. Dragon’s Flame by Cassie Alexander. Tarian and Seris/Kenna’s story was 25% had such potential to be an almost good read but felt like it was rushed; 25% dull leaning towards wanting to DNF but curious enough to see how the ridiculous storyline played out; 25% over the top in dialog lacking banter masking as sass-wannabe; and finally 25% filler spice lacking depth. A disappointing book 8 of 8 in a fun shifter books and the last book of the Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds series.

How far would you go to find your soul mate? That’s the ultimate question as we follow Tarian find his love. His love has been reborn over and over, and when he finds her present day as Kenna, things don’t go to plan. First off, she has no idea who he is! After rescuing her and ultimately kidnapping her, they do end up finding their way. True love and soul mates really do find each other.

Book 8 of the Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds Series. This is Tarian and Kenna’s story. This isn’t the typical fated mates story. With kidnapping, a mysteries group hunting Kenna, dragons, a dog named rocky, and a second chance at love, we are taken on a wild ride. This ends as it should with a little bit of a twist. Overall, a great read.

This is book 6 in a series, that I discovered back in 3023. :D So had to grab this and get back into the world, the author created back then. In this book, Kenna is again, reincarnated into the world. Tarian is a dragon Prince, once cursed, now free to find his one true mate. For a short read there was much packed in this story as this pair deal with past issues and hunters.

A dragon shifter romance. It is part of a bigger series but is written as a standalone. Kenna was studying to be a doctor. What she never expected was to be stalked by a stranger. A stranger who acted as though she should know him. Tarian would go to the end of the world and beyond to find his love. A soul that has been reborn but doesn’t remember him. Being almost immortal, he has faced a dark past but his love for her knows no end. But can love find a way and protect her too?

A quick but fun read!! Our dragon shifter MMC, Tarian, is looking for is long lost human soul mate. Kenna has no memories of her past lives and thinks Tarian is stalking her, not realizing what the true danger is.
Even tho this is book 8 in this series, and I have not read the previous books, I had no trouble picking up and getting into this story!!

What’s not to like about this . There are dragons and even a talking dog! I was chuckling throughout. This had spice and it was short and again I have to mention dragons . The world building was great. The chemistry between the characters was rough at first but their banter was pretty great. The narrators did a fine job with these characters . Making this an enjoyable listening experience.

"Dragon's Flame" is the eighth story in the "Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds" series but can be enjoyed as a stand alone read. This is a good paranormal story about magically bonded mates. It is a nicely developed romance about Kenna and Tarian story. The chemistry between these two is strong. I really like how their story develops. Love the characters!

Intense and Fantastic

Tarian knows he’s found his long lost love in Kenna - but she’s human, and doesn’t remember anything of her past life. I listened to this as an audiobook and boy am I glad I did - what a fantastic ride! Matthew Holland and Bunny Warren were an amazing duet in narrated this story - so much emotion and entertainment.

Confession time: I might be a little biased, but every Cassie Alexander book feels like coming home—warm, a little irreverent, and absolutely impossible to put down. Her style? Direct, sharp, and delightfully free of fluff.

Dragon Flame, the latest in the Dragon Prince of the Other Worlds series, dives straight into the chaos with Tarian, Rax’s long-suffering brother, finally freed after 800 years of torment. Cue his desperate quest to find his mate, Seras—only minor complication: she’s now reincarnated as Kenna, a modern woman with zero memory of him. Worse still, she takes one look at this tortured dragon prince and decides he’s… a stalker. Ouch.

What follows is a whirlwind of snappy banter, breathless chase scenes, and a tangle of misunderstandings so outrageous you’ll laugh even as your heart clenches. The pace is breakneck (yes, I said it), the sass is razor-edged, and the side character Rocky? Scene-stealing perfection.

Newcomers, take note: yes, you can jump in here, but do yourself a favor—start from book one and let yourself gorge on this series like the literary feast it is. Cassie Alexander serves up fire, heart, and humor in equal measure, and Dragon Flame is no exception.
