La Famiglia Mostro #2

Angels Adore Astrology

Rate this book
Seymour Madison has come to Somerstown to settle his estranged father’s estate. He’s been busy coasting through life and keeping things simple with no attachments, no relationships, and zero desire to create either.

But then his father's lawyer turns out to be a robot god, some hot faeries want him to find a missing head, and the cute guy he met at the cemetery is an angel who works for a monster mafia.

Oh, and there's the adorable kitty cat girl who eats people whole.

Complicated is an understatement.

Sariel is a literal angel, but there's something terrifying lurking beneath his heavenly form. He's a prisoner of a demon who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and Seymour is soon caught between a rebelling faction and the city's ruling family of monsters. He is drawn to Sariel in a way he's never felt before, and for the first time, he has something worth fighting for…

And someone he doesn't want to lose.

I you enjoyed Werewolves Hate Clogs, you’ll love this book just as much (if not more)! Get ready for more hilarious moments with new and old characters.

We all know I love a good mystery romance (and bonus points for it being Paranormal), so this one was right up my alley. It had hilarious moments filled with wild characters, sexy moments with a rather unassuming Daddy angel (Seriouslyyyy so hot), touching moments that squeezed my heart and so much fun you won’t want to put it down.

I can honestly say I’ve never read a book like this, and that’s just amazing. It was so unique and just.. honestly one of the most fun times I’ve had reading a book in a long time! I can’t wait to see where we go next in the fun and wild world KL Hiers has built!

Tropes:
- Found Family
- Daddy Kink
- Monster anatomy
- Funny moments
- The Twins (this is a trope)
- Insta-Lust

Angels Adore Astrology is the slightly oblivious angel plus slightly confused human romance you didn’t know you needed. Sariel may adore astrology (and he does), but I adored this book.

K.L. Hiers weaves a wildly imaginative tale that is sometimes just plain wild, but always full of heart. (And heat! Whoa, daddy, what intriguing appendages you have.) Seymour is in town for a quick trip — pay his respects at the grave of the father he never met, get the will read, get out. He meets a sweet and beautiful man at the cemetery, who he hopes to meet later for coffee, but as things go haywire at the lawyer’s office, those plans are derailed. Turns out, the monsters in town have other plans for Seymour — and that sweet man is an angel … enslaved by a demon. Sariel is set to guard Seymour as he goes about his quest, but that initial spark turns into something much hotter and deeper. As these two careen from one adventure to another, they create a family along the way that they both desperately need. But can Seymour and Sariel get out from under the demon’s thumb to create a life together?

This is the second book in La Famiglia Mostro series, but is stands alone just fine (though the first book, Werewolves Hate Clogs, is also delightful, so you absolutely should read it, too). The found family story is stellar, as is the love story between Seymour and Sariel. As a bonus, it’s ridiculously funny at times, too, and the storyline keeps you guessing as to what wild thing will happen next. I gobbled this up with a quickness. Highly recommend.

KL Hiers does it again! I adored the first book in La Famiglia Mostro series, and Angels Adore Astrology totally lives up to every single one of my hopes for book two!

Sariel, our angel, who is totally a Magical Girl and I will fight anyone on this, is the sweetest, gentlest shy cinnamon roll ever. Except in the bedroom when he turns into DADDY. Woof! Amazing. I love that KL gave him so many layers - shy, serious, funny, badass, sweet, totally clueless about humans, sad, and then dominant deliciousness in bed. He is an absolute joy! And yes he does love his astrology, in fact he is totally adorable about it. Oh and there are tentacles. Just saying. And a LOT of eyes. But it's hot, trust me!

Seymour is a brilliant character too; he can be sarcastic and very funny with the best banter. He can be a brat who really just wants to be good for his Daddy. And he can be so loving and kind to the ones he cares about. The whole book is told from his POV and being in his head was hilarious. I laughed my way through this book way too loudly because it was just so funny!

We also get cameos from several characters from book one (I LOVED Izba, Flanders and the twins), we are introduced to some brilliant new personalities (Zolyra my beloved) and we have the CUTEST found family in Sariel, Seymour and Day the cutest murder kitty you have ever met.

The mystery plot was just as good as the first book, and I had so many theories about what was going to happen! I was also very wrong in most of them! I love it when a book can surprise me. But it was entertaining all the way through and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Overall, this is an amazing book filled with adorable moments, laugh out loud humour, and gripping action. I am so happy that I read this and I really hope we get many more books in the series!

I received an advanced review copy of this book for free, and these are my honest opinions. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I love this series!
The first one is one of my favorite books and this one is just as good!!!

I don't even know where to start, I love so much about it.
Maybe I start out with our main characters.
Seymour and Sariel and of course Day, they are AMAZING.
Sariel was so sweet in the first book and he was just as sweet if not more in this one. He has so many layers. He is shy and blushing on one hand but dominat and protective on the other. His story is heartbreaking, so it's extra sweet that he finds his family. Seymour is great too. He is very courageous (stupid in certain situations) and loves his family fiercely. He reminds me a lot of Neil actually. Day is the coolest and sweetest kitty ever. Her story was also so sad and she is so loyal and ahhh I just love her.

The family that they created has me smiling like a crazy person. They are one of my absolute favorite families. These three are so adorable and loving and sweet and funny. *screams
It was such a pleasure to see them grow together. They treated each other so well and truly had each other's back. The cuddling was a personal favorite. They took their time getting to know each other, between all the action and mayhem.

The plot was very interesting and I never knew where it would take me. It was surprising on every corner. I LOVED the intrigue in the first book and I loved it here, just as much. It kept me so entertained that I had a hard time putting the book away.

While it is a standalone, I totally recommend to read it in order. The side characters are just *chefs kiss and it's way more enjoyable if you know them already or understand their dynamics. It's not necessary though.

I could just rave about this book for hours, I'm just so bad about putting it into words. I one hundred percent recommend it. I hope more people will find it and fall in love with it, like I did. I really hope we get more books in this series.

Second in series (La Famiglia Mostro), best if read in order. Paranormal. Found family. Close proximity. Single POV. Heed content warnings.

Seymour is in town to hear the reading of his estranged father’s will, but is thrust into a supernatural world where he is attracted to an angel, becomes the guardian of a ghost cat that can eat people, and is caught in a series of monster dealings that he can’t escape from.

This is a whirlwind of an adventure story and Seymour is an extraordinarily plucky human that goes along with everything otherworldly with a hilarious amount of acceptance and plenty of determination to try and get through unscathed. I loved everything about his interactions with Sariel, their fast feelings of rightness did not detract from the depth they had, and they both immediately became each other's fiercest protectors. All of the interesting supportive (and adversarial) characters were entertaining and the nonstop action and danger kept me turning pages. The instant found family was especially sweet and Sariel and Seymour have their stolen moments of spicy times were plenty spicy. Loved every minute of this book and this series so far.

It was definitely worth the wait for this sequel set in the La Famiglia Monstro world (you bet your bippy I was only able to regurgitate that title since it was slathered all over the screen). For sure the new peeps were very new, and perhaps somewhat traumatized with all the mystical/magical happenings. But ultimately, the author brought it all together in a fun (enough) and entertaining way.

I look forward to more in the series! [Take your time, author person! I'm willing to wait to get more of these types of stories]

I adored this book and catching up with Neil, Lou, and Izba. Seriously, one of the most original fantasy series I've read in a long time. There is a lot of discussion around slavery and there are several characters who are not good people.
