This is the best entry-level book around for individuals and groups looking to make a difference in the fight against global poverty. It's incredibly readable yet not "dumbed down" in the least. It deals with both theory and praxis in ways that are accessible to anyone. It's a great mix of stories, statistics, prayers, action plans, discussion questions -- you name it. A must-read!

This is my second time reading the book. I think it is a fantastic book for engaging critical thinkers around the issues of faith and international development. The combination of narrative, analytical data, and action steps combined well for the church study group I read. However, for some of the participants the academic language was a tad off-putting.

This is a great inspirational guide to donating your time and money to help people in the 3rd world.

Sure, it's faith-based, but it gives you practical advice on which charities to choose in order to make the most difference.

Good stuff.
