Childhoods are cherished… until the innocence ends.

After vanishing without a trace seven years ago, a young girl is found… her body posed with eerie care, at the very spot she was taken, surrounded by flowers and stuffed toys.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigator Kat Cromwell is faced with a new case that's as disturbing as it is perplexing. Is this the work of a lone abductor marking the end of a long game, or a darker mind, obsessed with the innocent years of a child?

As Kat and her partner Hugo battle a rising tide of public uproar and limited leads, her determined personal investigation into the Castillo crime family, and her dead fiancé's ties to their empire, surges toward a confrontation with deadly consequences.

Fans of police mysteries will love this haunting fourth instalment in the series by USA Today bestselling author Nicholas Harvey.

This series just keeps getting better!

You’ll be hooked from the very first page. Nick Harvey delivers another gripping tale that will keep you guessing until the very end. Kat and Hugo are at
their best trying to solve a heartbreaking case before history repeats itself. A great read!

Her Perfect Time to Die is, without a doubt, my favorite installment in the Kat Cromwell series. Nicholas Harvey truly hits his stride in this one, delivering a story that is darker, sharper, and more emotionally charged than the previous books.

The tension builds steadily throughout the book, and once the plot tightens, it absolutely refuses to let go. I found myself completely absorbed, turning pages faster and faster as each twist unfolded. The suspense feels deliberate rather than rushed, allowing the mystery to develop in layers. The subplot involving the Castillo family is again intertwined revealing more details about Paul.

Overall, Her Perfect Time to Die is a gripping thriller that showcases the best of what the Kat Cromwell series has to offer. If you’ve been following Kat’s journey, this one is not to be missed. And if you’re new to the series, be prepared—you’ll want to read the rest once you finish this one.

Another Must Read from Nick!

I smiled when this excellent adventure popped into my library, a smile generator! I've pre-ordered the next 📖, I know how good it will be.

Kat and Hugo are facing quite a challenge, once again. Plenty of PC Bean coffee will be necessary. At times, Roger will be inconvenienced by Kat's odd arrivals home. He can always tell she's been working hard, helping people in need! At the end, there's even a new roommate who knows how to pet and fetch food (hope that's knot a spoiler).

Stop reading this before I spill more coffee beans. Enjoy your journey!

Then check out AJ, Reg, Nora, and others in Nicolas Harvey's characters and worlds. I think I'll listen to Path and Purpose from Luna and the Lanterns...go on, bugger off.

Kat Cromwell isn't your standard invincible detective. She lives with a "broken brain" a unique neurological condition that gives her near-photographic recall but also causes intense mental "blank-outs" and sensory overload. Haunted by ghosts of her past, specifically the mysterious death of her fiancé, augments tight pacing, shifting perspectives and suspense.
Kat and her seasoned partner Hugo work the scant clues surrounding the body of a young girl found staged on a park bench. Can Kat's unique mind seeing clues that everyone else ignores beat a ticking clock?

So glad the Kat Cromwell series continues!
This fourth Kat mystery starts off as unusual as the previous stories – a young girl missing for 7 years is found but only a few hours after her death. Where had she been all this time? Her Perfect Time to Die is eerie, puzzling, and at the end makes some twisted sort of sense. Kat and her investigative partner, Hugo, have become a great and somewhat unusual team which adds to the color of the story immensely. This installment is a compelling, fast read because I needed to know the answers!!

The best Kat Cromwell book yet - I was hooked right from the start!

Kat and the team are up against it to solve a heinous murder in mysterious circumstances and to prevent history repeating itself.
As always with Nicholas Harvey, we are left second guessing and unsure right up until the gripping conclusion.
Whilst we all know and love AJ Bailey and Nora Sommer so well, Kat Cromwell is definitely creeping up there in my affections.
Can’t wait for her next case!

Her Perfect Time To Die - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Nick Harvey's novel, Her Perfect Time To Die, grips you firmly by the imagination from the first page, as Kat and Hugo are sent to the tragic scene of a young girl's corpse posed in a public park. Even more emotionally shattering is that she'd been alive until that night, years after her abduction from the same park.
Kat follows every clue and red herring en route to a life-or-death chase, as matters come to a head, following another six year-old girl's abduction.
What links the two cases together?
Her Perfect Time To Die is skilfully written and totally absorbing - so much so, that I read it through without a break...it was that unputdownable.

Highly recommended to fans of Willow Rose, Blake Pierce and PD Workman...

A terrific addition to the Kat Cromwell series. Kat and Hugo work a very interesting case with a few new people blending in and possibly bringing some connections to the death of Kats husband Paul.

I couldn't stop reading it.

Great news!
There will be more coffee!
Took long enough, didn't it??
And bigger all, but that Ginny. Well I hope she is back soon!
I think I'll be dreaming of that finale a long time. Makes me Want to donate more than I have to our local police and SWAT TEAM.

This series is a fun, unique and a fast paced read. Kat is quirky, tenacious and so smart. There is so much I want to say but I don’t do spoilers. So trust me when I say you should read this series and see for yourself.
