Entropy Analysis: An Introduction to Chemical Thermodynamics

Rate this book
This work on entropy analysis emphasizes the central role of the entropy function in determining thermodynamic outcomes and in doing so, employs direct application of the second law and the harmonic oscillator and cell models to display the workings of the entropy function at the microscopic level. At the same time, the book only uses minimum mathematics (finite differences and no calculus); emphasizes useful approximations; provides numerous examples of thermodynamic reasoning and of chemical problem-solving; and includes applications for electrochemical systems with a unified treatment of galvanic cells and electrolysis cells.
