⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ B.L. Payne wrecked me in the best possible way.
This book… wow. I don’t even know where to start because it was everything. From the first chapter, I knew I was about to go on an emotional rollercoaster, but I didn’t expect it to hit this hard or stay with me this deeply.
The spice? Absolutely spicing. My girl knows exactly how to deliver tension, chemistry, and intimacy that feels earned and powerful, every moment between the characters had this raw, magnetic pull that kept me glued to the page.
But what truly set this book apart for me was the heart of the story. My girl tackles topics that aren’t talked about nearly enough, the struggle of having kids, the weight it puts on individuals and relationships, the quiet grief and hope woven through every conversation. This part broke me open. For personal reasons, it hit incredibly close to home, and I found myself bawling more than once. It was painful, but also so beautifully, respectfully written that it felt healing in its own way.
The characters’ journey is honest, messy, emotional, and so unbelievably human. By the time I finished, I just sat there holding the book, absolutely blown away by how much it made me feel.
This was a six-star read for me, hands down. Stunning writing, incredible chemistry, and a storyline that will stay with me for a long time. I can’t recommend this series enough — it’s one of those rare ones that gets right under your skin and refuses to leave.
If you’re looking for a book that’s spicy, emotional, and beautifully real, Shattered Vows is it.
You can’t tell. But I’m currently writing this with tear stains all over my pillow 😭
This book was everything and more I could have hoped for with Killian & Daisys storyline. It was gut wrenchingly raw, beautifully written and just utterly perfection.
I chose not to read the trigger warnings and went in blind, which I am glad I did because it added on so much to the story with the unknown as to why Daisy left. But having now read the entire book and going through the triggers, so much is close to home which I think makes this story stand out so well to me.
Hand on heart can say that Brit did an outstanding job with this storyline and these characters. To think this was written in 6 months! Insane.
The plot alongside this was even as emotional regarding Jaxon! You just don’t see any of it coming. But never have I been so glad for two epilogues. I NEEDED those.
As always, I’m so glad to be back in Rosewater and getting back into characters from the past books.
But also.. Bell & Noah 👀 what’s happened there then?!
Thank you to the author for sending me a arc copy to read, I've been waiting for this for a long time!
Killian and Daisy's story shouldn't be something I enjoy, as I detest miscommunication tropes. However, this story is raw, painful, sad, dark themes and ultimately a happy ending.
Killian and Daisy are high school sweethearts, and Daisy leaves Killian at the altar on their wedding day. The whole story is basically the truth coming out as to why she left and a battle for them both to heal, forgive and make their way back together.
I guessed the plot twist about 70% in (sorry Brit!) however I was not expecting the heartfelt ending and acknowledgments from the author which made this book for me.
I teared up. I felt seen. I think this is a very brave book to write and the story is legitimately beautiful. And the spice? Well... any MMC with a piercing and a "touch her and die" mentality is all good in my book!
B L Payne, seriously well done. I loved it! Now... when can I get Shattered Oaths?
I was convinced that Grayson and Liv would be my favourite but Killian and Daisy went hold my beer and proved to me why they are such a special couple! Did I get annoyed at them at times? Yes, was I quick to forgive them? Yes This book was beautiful and vulnerable and healing! Everything with Jaxon and Juliet broke my heart a bit but it also healed it, like it did for Daisy and Killian! Favourite of the series so far!
Ah! Killian and Daisy!! I couldn’t wait to read their story and how beautiful it was! So wonderfully written and I wouldn’t expect anything less from B L Payne, their story was written so well, I was so emotional throughout! I absolutely loved them, I am so excited for Noah and Bella! 🩷🩷
Amazing, as a best friend’s brother trope lover, this one was of my favorites, love Killian, and the found family with the other characters is amazing to, looking forward for Noah and Bella
Daisy & Killian take you on an emotional journey. Loved being back in Rosewater Creek! The tension and build-up in this book let me tell you it had me on pins!! I love a second chance romance and this was written perfectly. The angst, the why, the forgiveness.
The easiest rating I’ve ever placed … 5 stars for this amazing story. To say it was perfect would be an understatement. I wouldn’t change a word or a sentence in this book! BL Payne you have out done yourself. I have loved all these books but Killian Ashby .. wow. Daisy & Killians story is one of heartbreak and yearning. Their journey is full of secrets and when they finally spill wow I thought I knew but it was even more heartbreaking and the story of Jaxon & Juliet god I sobbed my way through! That was the icing on the cake !!! Amazing !! You have got to read this series!! High praise for BL Payne you’ll always be one of my favourites !

Oh!!!!!! Killian Ashby is my husband? Good yeah I thought so. This man doesn’t play about his WIFE!!!!!! And them infertility/adoption storylines are gonna get me every time
Ooofta. Baby loss - just nailed the feelings on the head with this one. This author just nailed the feelings and man was it a a gut wrencher but sooo good
This book was so amazing!! I did feel frustrated when I felt that they both were being selfish and not listening to each other but they were both trying to figure out their feelings and grieving the life they thought they would have.
Tropes: - Best Friends Brother - High School Sweethearts - Second Chance - Small Town - Run Away Bride - Always been you
What a fitting way to come full circle—starting the first book in this series on January 1, 2025, and finishing this one as my very last read of the year on December 31. From the very first chapter, I knew I was in for an emotional ride, but I didn’t expect it to hit this hard or stay with me the way it did.
What truly set this story apart was its heart. The way it explores infertility, grief, hope, and the strain those struggles put on relationships is honest, respectful, and deeply moving. As much as I desperately wanted their happily ever after, I also didn’t want this book to end. I found myself reading a few chapters at a time and then forcing myself to put it down just to make it last longer.
The characters’ journey is messy, emotional, and unbelievably human. By the end, I was sitting there holding the book, completely blown away by how much it made me feel.
If you are looking for a spicy, second-chance romance between high school sweethearts with the best friend's brother trope in the mix, look no further, this is the book for you!
I really enjoyed this book. From books one and two in the Rosewater Creek series, we met the main characters, Killian Ashby and Daisy Bennett, who we know were engaged, but before they tie the knot, Daisy leaves Killian at the altar with no answers as to why she has left and then comes back after 3 and a half years. While reading this book, we uncover the secrets Daisy has been hiding and get a deeper understanding of Killian and Daisy’s relationship before disaster strikes.
The author talks about topics that people struggle with every day in a very respectful way, bringing light to these struggles through these characters.
I don’t even know what to say about this book everything about it was perfection from the characters to the way it was written The love story was just fantastic and what ever person dreams of. Honestly can’t believe that with every book I fall more and more in love with the characters can’t wait for shattered oath Please never stop writing
I absolutely loved Killian's book and was the one I had been waiting on. I was expecting it to be more emotional if I'm honest but I enjoyed it all the same. Definitely had a different tone to it compared to the first 2 books. I love that these men are just golden retrievers for their women ❤️
This book is a heartfelt one, I can see how much care the author put into this story, Killian and Daisy my heart breaks for them, I wanted them to just kiss and make up by 20% into the book. Im not a lover of second chance romance but this book had all the yearning I needed and while I don't understand the actions that daisy did in this book I know that everything happens for a reason and their reason was to meet Jackson and Juliet.
Small town romance which was predictable I felt from the early stages but I still enjoyed it.
Not a fan of the miscommunication trope and felt like some part were slightly unrealistic but I did enjoy the MMC and the rest of the characters popping up from previous books.
I get the story line and the angst but it just wasn’t it for me. I found myself getting bored and now wanting to pick it back up, really well written though it could have been proof read better as a few spelling mistakes and wrong words slipped through
Once again the author has knocked it out of the the park, runaway bride is such a underrated trope add in the fact they are high school sweethearts. The story you follow is full of angst and longing that keeps heating up to boiling point, and baby thay kettle is whistling 🤭
Please check your triggers for this book, it does have miscarriage, pregnancy trouble, child neglect (off page)
I adored Killian and Daisys story, I love a second chance romance. There’s some sensitive topics in this book and they were articulated perfectly and handled with care.
