It's been a great four years. Once again, we are pleased to publish a representative sample of our online magazine, including work from Issues 41, 43, 47, and 53 (prime numbers-get it?). Plus we've got a terrific interview with philosopher, essayist, and novelist Sergio Troncoso that has not yet appeared online. Troncoso is the author of The Nature of Truth in which the world gets turned inside out. Be sure to read what this fascinating writer has to say. In addition, we're very excited to present the first place winners of our very first Prime Number Magazine Awards in the short story, essay, flash fiction, short essay, and poetry. These are wonderful pieces, selected from among hundreds of entries by our outstanding judges.

About the author

Clifford Garstang is the author of three novels: THE LAST BIRD OF PARADISE (forthcoming, 2024), OLIVER’S TRAVELS, and THE SHAMAN OF TURTLE VALLEY. He is also the author of three story collections: WHAT THE ZHANG BOYS KNOW (winner of the Library of Virginia Literary Award for Fiction), IN AN UNCHARTED COUNTRY, and HOUSE OF THE ANCIENTS AND OTHER STORIES. He is the co-founder and former editor of PRIME NUMBER MAGAZINE and the editor of the three-volume anthology series, EVERYWHERE STORIES: SHORT FICTION FROM A SMALL PLANET. A former international lawyer with a prominent US law firm and the World Bank, Garstang earned a BA from Northwestern University, an MA (English) and a JD from Indiana University, an MPA (International Development) from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and an MFA (Creative Writing) from Queens University of Charlotte.

I am the editor of Prime Number Magazine and I happen to think Volume 4 of our Editors' Selections series is the best yet. Besides some great fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, the book includes prize winners from our inaugural Prime Number Magazine Awards AND an interview with Sergio Troncoso, philosopher and fiction writer.
