On the hunt for clues regarding Felix’s curse, Lucille seeks out the Great Sage Elios in the capital, only to discover that he’s actually the sweet little boy who was Lilybell’s last owner! Curiously, he’s managed to stay alive since their tragic parting and seems to be intricately linked to Felix’s curse.

And now, as Lucille prophesized, it’s time for Elvira—Felix’s fated heroine—to take center stage. What is the true nature of the Leeuwenhoek curse? Will Elvira be able to lift it? And how does Felix feel about all of this?!

Pretty decent resolution of the plot of v1, although the series itself is not yet finished. Still, not much is setting it apart from the typical villainess stories, and since I have never been a big fan of (ridiculous) oblivious MCs or some of the other tropes in this book it wasn't really the story for me.

I finally figured out why I disliked Volume 1 so much. It feels like the author or publisher split one complete story in half, then sold each half as Volume 1 and Volume 2. They really should have dropped the boring and unnecessary bonus stories from each and combined both volumes into a single book, especially given how short Volume 2 is.

Volume 1 ended on a pretty lackluster note, but if the story had been presented as a full, unified book, that ending would have landed more like a slow middle section that leads into a more satisfying conclusion. As a complete story, I might have even given it around 3.5 stars. It is a cute, simple read, nothing groundbreaking, but with a few hooks for future adventures.

I would only recommend reading this volume if you finished Volume 1 and felt unsatisfied, and you want closure on the story.
