About the author

Daniel Oliver Bradshaw

2 books2 followers
Daniel Bradshaw writes stories for readers who crave horror that doesn’t rely on cheap scares, but instead builds tension through atmosphere, psychology, and surreal twists. His debut novel, The Ones That Walked, leads readers into a labyrinth where memory fractures and reality unravels.

With a background in film and screenwriting, Daniel brings a cinematic eye to fiction, crafting thrillers with shot-for-shot precision and relentless tension. He gravitates toward character-driven narratives, where personal struggles and human choices matter just as much as the horrors surrounding them. Influenced by storytellers like Stanley Kubrick and Christopher Nolan—and inspired by films such as The Thing, Cube, and Alien—he makes suspense his forte.

A loving father of three and an avid coffee drinker, Daniel is currently developing his next novel in the same genre.

For lovers of sci-fi horror thrillers (think movies like Cube) - you're gonna love this!!!
This novel is exceptionally clever and well written, with fantastic character development and descriptions that will have you feeling like you're right there with them, immersed in the smells and sounds, holding your breath while your heart races, taking your mind on little 'what if' side quests as you delve deeper into the evolving story.

“The Ones That Walked” is a thrilling and blood-chilling story that grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go. Daniel Bradshaw drops his characters—and the reader—into the SmartArk, a shifting, living labyrinth where memories are erased and survival is the only rule.

The tension builds with every page as James and the others face grotesque trials, from blood-slick corridors to whispering walls, never knowing who—or what—they can trust. The book gives strong vibes of Cube, Battle Royale, and even Saw, with its claustrophobic atmosphere and relentless psychological pressure.

What makes it stand out is how immersive it is. Bradshaw’s cinematic style makes the horror vivid and haunting, pulling you so deeply into the Ark that you almost feel trapped alongside the characters. It’s not just about the gruesome challenges, but about paranoia, identity, and the terrifying fragility of human trust.

For fans of dark psychological horror and sci-fi thrillers, this book is a must-read.

Loved The Ones That Walked- true to the psychological horror genre, this book is an intense page turner. I can usually predict how a book is going to end about halfway through, but I was not expecting how this one ended at all! Definitely a good read, I highly recommend it.

Suspenseful reading at its best! Engages the reader from the first page. And doesn't let up. You are immersed in the story the entire time. Up to the last page. What's going on? What happens next? You will want to keep reading to find out. Lots of twists and turns. Roller coaster. Scary. Gory. Each page a new revelation. You immediately relate to the characters and hope they are all the ones that walked!
