Rate this book
Imagine that you are a good ol' boy from Appalachia, friendly, hard working, good hearted and flawed. You are a peeping tom. For as long as you can remember, you have been driven by the excitement. The desire is so overpowering, so controlling that not doing it isn't an option. Now, imagine your surprise when you hoped to watch a woman undressing, but instead, you see several powerful men committing unspeakable crimes. It ends when your throat is laid open from ear the ear.
Your friend, that old man who writes for the newspaper, has figured it out, but the police, sheriff's men, lawyers, judges, congressmen and other members of the Social Club are massing to make certain that he doesn't live long enough to tell anyone.

Firstly I've got to admit I wasn't keen on the blurb of this book. A seventy year old newspaper reporter called Mack didn't seem like my kinda read. Boy was I in for a surprise with this story. Mack was certainly young at heart.

I ended up reading this in one sitting as I felt compelled to read 'just one more chapter'. Then all of a sudden I knew I wasn't putting it down until I'd finished it.

Although we hear the stories of a few characters the main character is Mack who I really liked. The storyline flowed and the characters came across as real. A few unexpected twists had me giving a virtual thumbs up to the author.

This book has proven to me just why I love blogging. To be approached by an author to review his book is an honour. I'm just shocked that this is the first review for this book on goodreads.

In my honest opinion this book deserves the five stars I'm giving it. The story is faultless. The author shocked me in that I loved it more than I thought I would. Lastly I needed to read it in one setting.

Apologies to the author for not reading this sooner. I'm looking forward to reading more of his books.
