After reading The Night Pixie around this time last year, I was excited to see this second book being released and ready to read.

I loved the first book as it took me right back to my childhood when I used to read stories about garden pixies all the time!

This book took me straight back into Star and Rose's world and this time we see the friends go on an adventure away from the garden.

Star had never been outside Aunt Mo's garden, so sneaking into Rose's bag and heading to school was such an exciting trip - but the main thing was to stay safe and definitely not be seen!

This was another fun read that's perfect for the target audience.

This would definitely have been one of those books that I'd have loved reading at bedtime or spreading out as a storytime read at school.

It's a little longer and pretty wordy, so a great one for those proficient readers to practise and improve their reading or for adults to share over a few sittings.

The chapters are a good length to read one a night maybe.

I absolutely loved meeting our new characters in this book - I won't give any spoilers....but - Welly was so cute and the lesson that Star and Welly learned on their adventure was a great one.

The ending came as a bit of a shock but this was a brilliant way to develop the characters and to progress the storyline - ready for a third book I feel.....

Loved this read and cannot wait to see more from this author soon.

Thank you to Love Books Yours and Hazel Knox for an eARC, here is my honest review.

Star is back for her second adventure with her best friend Rose. After her daring first adventure Star has been able to persuade her mum to let her go with Rose to see the school assembly for the prize giving for their joint art project.

Star loves discovering about Rose's school life until she comes across Welly, the wellbeing rabbit kept in a cage in Rose's classroom. She's horrified and sets about freeing Welly.

The story continues with Star showing Welly what freedom means and much adventure ensues. They discover simple joys, have many misunderstandings as they try to explore, work together and manage to end up in the woods near the school where Star makes a discovery and Welly finds danger.

The book covers
Adventure
Discovery
Simple joys
Misunderstandings
Danger
Working together
Friendship
Consequences
Responsibilities
Problem solving
Bravery
Wellbeing

I read this book with my 6 year old and we both thought it was a brilliant book for helping children understand about the give and take of friendships and the importance of listening. We really enjoyed the adventure they went on and the mishaps they got into, they made us chuckle, especially the chocolate cake. The fox was perfect for adding the element of danger and working together to solve problems. It was nice to introduce the idea of well being in a way that my son could understand and appreciate.

We both loved the ending and we're excited to read the final adventure when it comes out

I was able to grab the first book on kindleUnlimited and give it a quick read before diving into this one. I think you could understand this one well enough without doing that, but my policy is always "Why?" If you just can't get your hands on the first one for some reason, sure, but it's a great little book, and I think this one is enhanced by reading the first.

If you've already read the first book, you will love this one. Rose and Star's adventures continue almost right where they left off. Rose is enjoying a great relationship with her Aunt Mo, and so is Star! And the two girls - well, girl and pixie - are best of friends. Star learns all sorts of things at human school, including that sometimes if someone has different values than you, that can be okay. There are some great lessons in this series, and kids can learn a lot! I think they'll really enjoy spending time with Star and Rose, and in this book, we even get some new friends to spend time with!

My daughter is 7, and I know she is going to love it. She loved the artwork, and we have a special love of pixies in our house, so I just know she's going to love it.

I especially love the twist at the end - and I can't wait to see book 3, and any other books the author might have to share!

This is a really cute young children’s book, filled with wonder and mystery around the Night Pixie and her family.

As the Pixie sneaks off to school with Rose, she soon becomes concerned about the schools rabbit. She’s kept in a cage and she is eager to set her free, let her experience life outside the cage. What follows is a cute story of discovery, of being cheeky moving around the school, with lots of humour as Pixie and the rabbit learn new things.
My son liked the pictures and being a rabbit owner, wanted to know more about her and loved following her adventures. He really enjoyed the ending where other pixies join the story but by far, the rabbit was his favourite part.

As we know, children learn so much from books and my son did question why the rabbit was still kept in a small cage with no friend at the end. Through her adventures it would be wonderful if the school then realised she needs a rabbit companion, as well as lots of space while at the school as well as when she’s taken home. That would be a fantastic addition to show children how to care for animals, that in turn help look after us.

Over all a lovely children’s book, full of magic and wonder.

The second book in The Night Pixie series finds Starthe night pixie going to school with Rose on a very special day. It’s a new adventure for Star, especially when she meets Welly the class well-being rabbit. Thinking that Welly is being held captive in her cage, Star makes it her mission to set Welly free and show her what life is like outside her cage. Plenty of humorous chaos ensues as Star and Welly explore freedom. The story is full of humour while at the same time exploring the true meaning of home and what freedom means to different people. The illustrations scattered throughout bring scenes from the story to life. I think this an adorable, engaging story that young readers will love.

The Night Pixie to the Rescue is hilarious. Children will love the characters, the illustrations and the story.

Star, the night pixie, lives with her mum and granny in Aunt Mo's garden. Ever since her dad disappeared, they never go outside the garden. Except Star has made friends with Rose, a human, and goes to school with her.

It's at school that Star sees a bunny in a cage. The bunny must be a prisoner, having been captured by humans. That's what happened to her dad. So Star decides to free Welly the bunny. But what happens when the creature you are trying to rescue doesn't want to be freed?

Well, they have amazing adventures, that's what. First there's the music room with its giant piano, then there's chocolate cake in the office. But it's outside that the adventures really begin, not just for Welly, but for Star as well.

I adored this book. There are plenty of really funny moments, from the toilet scene - the toilets must be really special as kids go there all the time, the 'head' teacher who must be just a head with no body, and the photocopier (that will bring back memories of drunken office parties for some parents), but it's Welly the bunny that I loved best.

Many thanks to @lovebookstours for inviting me to be part of the #NightPixie blog tour.

If your little ones like a bedtime story and you go through books too quickly, this book is perfect. It has lengthy chapters which are perfect to read one a night for any good little readers/parents. I read this with my daughter across the span on about a week and she couldn't wait to continue the story of Star and Rose. I definitely think this one with be a firm favourite in our house.

If you love a little magic, a little sparkle and a little adventure, this book has everything you need. although the second book in the series, we have only read this one and definitely didn't feel like we were missing any information, so id say ti's could be read as a standalone

We loved reading this book so much, it was cute and fun. We loved Star's interactions with Rose and the mischief that happened at the school. Rescuing a rabbit that didn't need rescuing.
We loved Welly's and Star's adventures and loved the direction it all went in.
The writing in this book was great and really told the story well with the cute little illustrations. I did think the language used did progress a little bit and thought younger readers may struggle on their own, but this story is great to read together so I think everyone will enjoy the tales of the Night Pixie.

Awe I absolutely love the crazy adventures of the night pixie and friends, and this book two did not disappoint!

I kinda can imagine her being ditzy and although her heart is in the right place she gets into so much mischief 🤭 letting the cute bunny out. and the chocolate cake, feel like we need the recipe for that one..

I love how this story touches on so many meanings of friendships, understanding, listening and doing the right thing.

The Night Pixie To The Rescue by Hazel Knox.
This was a lovely read. I loved the cover and blurb of this book. This was an easy and quick read. I couldn't put it down. I loved the illustrations in this book. Very eye-catching. I loved the characters' names. Star, Rose, Welly. I love how it will help kids with friendship. And how important it is to listen. I loved the fox too. Overall I loved this book. Even though it's a children's book. Great for any age. I definitely recommend.
