Shadows of the Past

Rate this book
At eighteen, Amanda Monroe fell deeply in love with Nathan Collins, a humble ranch hand on her father’s grand estate. Their connection was pure, but everything changed when Amanda found herself pregnant with another man's child, despite never being intimate with Nathan. Devastated and feeling betrayed, Nathan left the estate, heartbroken and vowing never to return.

Eight years later, Nathan is no longer the poor ranch hand he once was. He’s built his own fortune, rising above the pain of his past. But when fate brings him back to the Monroe estate, now fallen into ruin after Amanda’s father squandered away its fortune, Nathan seizes the opportunity to reclaim what was once his, both the land and the woman he once loved.
Amanda, now alone and broken after the stillbirth of her child and the death of her father, is forced to accept Nathan’s offer to become the housekeeper of the estate she once called home. Bitter and hurt by Nathan’s abandonment, she resents the man he’s become, unaware that he’s still haunted by the love he once felt for her.

But when Nathan uncovers the dark truth behind Amanda’s pregnancy, his perspective shifts. The betrayal he once felt turns into deep remorse as he learns of the trauma Amanda endured, manipulated and victimized by those closest to her. Now, Nathan must prove to Amanda that he’s no longer the man who walked away, but someone worthy of her love and trust. However, Amanda’s walls are high, and forgiveness won’t come easy.

Shadows of the Past is a story of love, redemption, and the fight to heal from wounds that cut deep. Can Nathan and Amanda move beyond the scars of their past and find a way back to each other, or will their unresolved pain keep them apart forever?

Amanda and Nathan’s story is as haunting as it is powerful. Two souls torn apart by secrets and lies, only to be brought back together by fate and truth. The chemistry between them is undeniable, even beneath years of pain and resentment.
Amanda’s strength and resilience make her a heroine you can’t help but root for, while Nathan’s journey from bitterness to understanding is both raw and deeply moving. The slow unravelling of the dark truth behind Amanda’s past keeps you gripped, and the tender moments of healing between them bring tears and hope in equal measure.

I didn’t think Nathan would be able to redeem himself. But I think he did it with style.
