Chasing Storm was chefs kiss! Kasey did an incredible job with this one. I was sat the whole way through, and this book had my full attention - I stopped reading another book because I just could not wait to read this!

One element I really liked about this story was the boxing aspect of it, as I've never read a book with this before!

Chasing Storm is a story full of dark secrets, forbidden romance, and mystery. Storm is a fighter, through and through - as are the twins, Aiden and Lycus (even if they did piss me off a lil bit). I also love the relationship between Storm and Brixton, and how close they are.

The spice in Chasing Storm is very steamy!

This story is a bit different than what we usually get from Kasey, she really put a hell of a story together with this one! The writing was incredible, and I cannot wait for book two - I have so many questions that need answers!

Omg! I loved this book! I could not put it down!

Wow that ending!! I need more! You can't leave it like that Kasey!!!

The storyline gripped me from the first sentence and the characters are perfect!

This book is a rollercoaster of a ride.

The twins are dangerous but also love hard. And they will get what they want and whatever cost.

Storm has a hard time, falls for the twins, but then gets into a relationship with someone else, she wished she never did.

But will she go back to the twins or will she forget them for good?

Will she find out who sent the messages?

I have so many questions and so little answers!

This is a MUST read.

Chasing Storm is the newest book by KM Rogness. I definitely enjoyed this read. and that cliffhanger.....stooooopppp!!

I love our FMC Storm, and the MMCs Aiden and Lycus. We also have Brixton, Storm's brother.

I really loved the little bit of mystery KM writes in Chasing Storm. It definitely gives this book a different spin from what she typically writes, in a good way.

Again that cliffhanger.......gahhh I need the second book pronto!!

3.5⭐️ I feel like this story was very rushed and there are some plot holes that make the story feel off. I know left off on a cliffhanger and that’s the part that intrigued me the most, but I just feel like so much about the characters is unknown and there wasn’t a lot of character development or understanding of everyone and what is happened in their world. It felt rushed, but I liked the story line and feels like it has a lot of potential.

Rogness comes full force in 2026 with a headstrong female lead in Chasing Storm, which hits some emotionally damaged areas as the characters unveil themselves to each other. I had a love/hate relationship with the twins from the beginning but their overall character development and the way they developed actual feelings for Storm made me hold back on the hatred; even if they are some incredibly hot guys. This novella pulls out all the punches and leaves you wanting more as you reach the cliffhanger at the end that demands answers immediately.

*spoilers*

Storm is a sixteen-year-old fighter who has just started getting in the ring. She throws powerful punches and doesn’t care who is on the other end of her swings. But when an old friend of her father’s presents himself with his two twin sons, all hell is unleashed and Storm is their main target. Through ridicule and humiliation, they show their affection through torturing her with glares that appear deceptive.

But soon, the twin’s mother goes missing which raises concern through their family and Storm’s, as their father married the woman who he had a prior relationship with. The more the fathers spend time with each other, the more secrets spill out. Storm hates seeing her father obliterated through consumption while her mother is forced to stay home and worry about his whereabouts.

Until, she decides to allow the twins to drive her out to the middle of nowhere for them to absorb her in every possible way. Because even when one has their time with her, the other likes to watch. All seems to go fine until they abruptly leave her there all alone in the secluded cabin.

Years later, still infuriated with the facts that they ditched her, Storm has gotten in a relationship with another man who is the epitome of red flag. He abuses her. Leaves marks. Bruises. And even caused her to lose their baby. But after the last attack, she is done. She takes her emergency bag and runs away, not telling anyone including her brother about her whereabouts. The cliffy at the end pulls at you even more because someone knows the reason behind her father’s brutal murder. And she wants answers.

So do I! I was hooked! I absolutely love Storm and how courageous she became even after believing that this was the love she thought she deserved. Way to create one of the most hated characters of the year with the bringing in Tate. Honestly, I can’t wait to see how the twins are going to deal with him, what really happened to their mother, and what was the true reason her father was murdered. So many questions and now I have to wait for the next book! Eeep!

(Embracing the Storm — Book One)

Series Note: This is book one in the Embracing the Storm series and it ends on a cliffhanger.

Overall Thoughts

Chasing Storm is emotionally brutal, chaotic, and intoxicating in the way only a true dark romance can be. The pacing is fast but heavy, pulling you deeper with every chapter, while the atmosphere stays thick with grief, danger, obsession, and desire. It feels raw, volatile, and unfiltered like watching a slow emotional trainwreck you can’t look away from, where love and destruction exist in the same breath.
This book doesn’t try to soften its edges it leans into the darkness and lets it burn.

Vibes & Tropes

Tropes: MFM, twins, step-siblings, enemies to lovers, bullying, body worship, dark secrets, obsessive & possessive MMCs, hidden identity, abduction play, bandana-wearing stalkers, forced proximity, taboo dynamics
Vibes: Small-town rot, trauma bonding, chaos energy, emotional ruin, obsessive devotion, criminal underworld tension
Genre: Dark romance / taboo romance
POV / Structure: Multi-POV, emotionally driven, fast-paced with escalating tension

What Worked

KM Rogness’s addictive, unfiltered writing voice
Heavy, immersive atmosphere that never lets up
Intense character dynamics built on obsession and control
Strong emotional and psychological impact
Dark worldbuilding that blends crime, family, and desire seamlessly

Standout Quotes

“We dripped evil and sex appeal, and when it came to getting what we wanted, we always got it.”

“She wasn’t fucking mine — not by a long shot — but I was sure as hell going to make her mine one way or another.”

Content & Tone Notes

This is a very dark read with heavy themes including violence, crime, taboo dynamics, obsession, and psychological intensity. Please check content warnings before starting.

Final Take

If you love dark romance that’s unhinged, obsessive, morally gray, and emotionally destructive, this will absolutely hit. It’s intense, addictive, and messy in the best way and as someone who already considers KM Rogness one of my favorite authors ever, this just proves again why her stories live rent-free in my brain.

Be warned: it ends on a cliffhanger, and it hurts.

Chasing Storm by K.M. Rogness is Book 1 in the Embracing the Storm duet. This means the story is intentionally layered and emotional, setting things up for a bigger, deeper continuation in Book 2. It’s a dark romance with heavy themes, intense relationships, and a slow unraveling of secrets—very on-brand for this author.

---

Chasing Storm feels like walking straight into a thundercloud—you know it’s going to be messy, emotional, and impossible to ignore. From the very first chapters, the atmosphere is heavy with grief, tension, and that quiet sense that everything is about to spiral. KM Rogness leans hard into emotional damage, and honestly? That’s where this book shines.

Storm is a heroine shaped by loss, confusion, and survival, and her emotional journey feels raw rather than polished. The relationships in this book are complicated, layered, and morally gray in the best way—nothing feels easy or clean, and that’s exactly the point. The author does a great job of building intensity slowly, letting the emotions simmer instead of rushing them.

What really works here is the vibe: dark, angsty, slightly chaotic, and emotionally charged. This isn’t a fluffy romance meant to comfort—you’re meant to feel unsettled at times, to question motives, and to sit with uncomfortable emotions. The writing keeps you engaged, and the duet format makes it clear this is only the beginning of the storm.

If you love romances that are messy, intense, and character-driven—with emotional tension doing most of the heavy lifting—this one will absolutely pull you in.

Chasing storm is another on point darrrk story from K M Rogness and this will not be everyones cup of tea. This book does cross over to the taboo trope and more so check out those triggers before jumping or if like me you like it all then dive it.

This book is binge worthy darkness and had me hooked from the very start. Kasey has done an unbelievable job with this story and the writing is incredible as you delve into the inner workings of our characters and the story as it plays out.

This story has you panting for more as it leaves you with more questions, the darkness of the twins and then we have Storm who loses her way and is has hard time from having the twins to not having them and being entangled in a relationship that she doesnt want and is wrong for her.

We get the emotionally tug, the brutality of heightened emotions with that right mix of chaos thrown in.

Story ends on a cliffhanger and I cant wait to get stuck into book 2

K.M. Rogness has once again demonstrated her exceptional ability to channel her emotions into a captivating book. “Storm” is a brilliant and resilient character who has endured a devastating tragedy that has extinguished her light and left her vulnerable to the influence of two morally ambiguous twins, Aiden and Lycus. Storm grapples with the loss of her father and yearns to uncover the truth behind the events that transpired. Her journey takes a turn when cryptic messages begin to appear on her laptop, gradually helping her rediscover her former self and rekindle a relationship with her brother, Brixton. The novel concludes on a cliffhanger, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the unfolding events in the next installment. I eagerly await the release of book two, eager to delve deeper into Storm’s captivating story.

I loved this! It's Storm & her guys' story & it was awesome! She's forever seeking her dad's approval & is disappointed every time. One of his old "friends" comes back into his life & has 2 sons; but their history isn't good. And the guys? They've set their sights on her & are determined to have her & equally make her pay for things she knows nothing about. The chemistry between them all is undeniable; but they have secrets & she finds herself caught up in things that she knows nothing about. Then tragedy strikes & changes her forever & they don't see her again for a long time. But danger surrounds her & she doesn't know it yet. I loved the story & the spice was awesome! Please keep in mind, this is a dark book a lot of things happen here. Highly recommend this book & author!

Wooooow, what a ride this was. KM Rogness knows how to write dark men that we can’t help but love, and Aiden and Lycan are one of those men.

Storm is always doing everything she can to get the approval of her father and sadly doesn’t get it. But she is such a baddie and I loved her! Aiden and Lycan have their eyes on Storm and they are determined to have her and make her pay. They are unhinged and so morally gray.

The chemistry between these three is insane and hot. But they have secrets that she doesn’t know about and then tragedy strikes and EVERYTHING changes.

That ending… KM ROGNESS… how dare youuuu??? Noooooo, you love to torture me and leave me hanging at the best (even though I’m cursing you, lovingly) ways possible leaving me begging like a rabid human needing more.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved this book! Storm is such a strong FMC even if sometimes she doesn't remember it, I love the bond her and her brother have, and the love she has for her family.

Aiden and Lycan I don't know what to say, how bullies be so hot? 🤣 I really hope she makes them grovel in book 2 for everythingthey did to her, it's wasn't her fault her Dad was a shitty friend to theirs.

I wasn't ready for this book to end, I hope the next one comes soon!

If you're expecting an HEA, this isn't the book for you.

Although this is a slightly different story from what she normally writes, this is no less impactful. Kasey has delivered again.

Brixton and Storm were raised by a tough father. One who held more secrets than they knew.

Lycus and Aiden are ruthless, they don't claim to be anything other than that.

Their worlds collide unexpectedly, in more ways than one.
Questions remain unanswered for and by everyone involved. Storm has some truths to discover, and right now, she is on her own.

That cliffhanger is epic, can't wait for the next part.

Can someone tell me where I can find myself two hot, badass twins that both are obsessed over me? I'd love to know Storm's secret. Because these men are wrapped around her fingers!

I loved the suspense in the beginning, how she very much hates to be attracted to Aiden and Lycus but they're just too damn tempting. Lycus being the broody asshole, making a game of everything and pushing the limits. Aiden has a sweeter side to him, while also being a beast in the bedroom🤭

Don’t say Km Rogness didn’t warn you when you start this book. The men Aiden and Lycan are mouth watering but yet have you question your own sanity for your attraction to them because morally grey?? It might be an understatement for them. The book is filled with secrets , darkness, a taboo that has you clenching your legs but at the same time wondering what’s wrong with you. From start to finish this book was amazing. Now to impatiently wait for the next one.

Chasing Storm by K.M. Rogness was quite a read. It was wild and unhinged, both in the spicy and unspicy sense.

To be a woman trapped between two crazy and obsessed twins.

However, I can't wait for the second book. This book ended too fast. It left me with so many questions. But, it was an amazing read with some intense turmoil.

Thank you K.M. and her PR team for letting me get a chance to read this book. I'm eager for book two already.

Chasing Storm by KM Rogness

Yup the Queen of dark why choose has done it again. Taboo, dark twisted men and badass MFC. And oh boy that cliff hanger….

It’s definitely different from how she normally writes. If you thought you knew what to expect from a KM Rogness novel, think again. The Queen of Dark Why Choose is back, but she’s playing by a brand-new set of rules—and it is glorious.

Loved this book! Devoured it!
Storm ~ not a girly girl, that’s definitely something we have in common. She’s a fighter in more ways than one!
Storm, she goes through hell!
The twins, Lycus & Aiden, they’re loyal, love hard, over protective to the people they love but don’t let that fool you! They’re also dangerous & careless!
Tate~ I had a Tate in my life so I completely understand how Storm became so accustomed to certain things.
The ending! I NEED more!!!
Amazing read!

Another absolute banger. Storm is a force to be reckoned with. She shows us that you can be broken and still make the best of it. Storm faces many challenges throughout and tries to face every challenge. The twins have a funny way of showing their love and affection to anyone after their mother goes missing. The ending cliffhanger was a twist and I can’t wait for the next book.
