When a friend working at the Los Angeles Coroner's office shows him the body of a man killed in a tragic apartment fire, X-rays of his skull show him to be identical to prehistoric individuals. Armed with this knowledge they look into this man's background to try and understand where he came from and why he was living in an apartment in downtown Los Angeles completely unknown by those around him. And the most important question of all-- are there others?
