Twisted Shot: A Slow Burn, Secret Identity Hockey Romance

Rate this book
Mila Anderson has a five-year plan. Nowhere in a masked man with a filthy mouth.

After a gaslighting ex turns her love life into a cautionary tale, she swears off distractions—especially six-foot-something hockey players she’s been hired to make look marketable.

Then the team’s Halloween party happens, and she’s swept off her feet by a man who makes her forget every rule she’s ever set. One tiny she never saw his face.

Theo Tilbury doesn’t do crowds or speeches. Or talking much at all. But behind a mask, he’s confident, dirty, and makes Mila tremble by whispering her name. Too bad she doesn’t know the shy defenseman is the same guy who ruined her lipstick.

Keeping the secret lets him live both lives—the bold stranger she can’t forget and the man terrified of saying the wrong word. But the closer they get, the harder it is to hide, and the more he risks losing the one woman who finally sees him.

A witty, steamy, and deeply emotional hockey romance about confidence, connection, and falling for the person who finally makes you feel seen.

Book 2 in the Skate Me Home series. Can be read as a standalone.

This is book two in the Skate Me Home series. Having read the first book, I was really excited to dive into this one. Since we were already introduced to Theo and Mila, I couldn’t wait to see their chemistry play out. Theo comes off as shy, preferring to stay out of the limelight and just enjoy playing hockey, while Mila’s career keeps her front and center. It’s an opposites-attract situation, and I thought it played out really well. The characters balance each other nicely and seem to know when the other needs support. I also loved seeing familiar faces from the first book! This story was funny, tender, and at times a little frustrating. Overall, I had a great time reading it.

I want to thank BookSirens, and Rachel Anthony for the eARC. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Twisted shot is a standalone but we meet characters from Blocked Shot, Natalie and Jake who are already coupled up in this one. Didn’t feel lost, but i definitely will go back and read their love story going forward. Twisted Shot was filled with fun humor, and an interesting bunch of side players. Mila is determined to not let her skeezy ex get the best of her on a new work project she secured. He’s an ass and pops up quite frequently, but he’s not so important he takes away from the love story between Mila and Theo. Theo has lived with a stutter that worsens in certain situations. It was interesting to see how Theo dealt with it, and how those around him treated him.
Thanks to BookSirens for this ARC which I’m leaving my honest opinions on.

Thank you to the author for providing a free ARC from BookSirens! I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, so I’m glad I got to read the second, too! Forgive me for this review because it might be a little disjointed since I was just making notes as I read.

I love hockey romances, and I love that this one actually had hockey in it (so many “hockey” romances these days don’t). I also love when books show the team dynamic. The description of the team at the bar after the first game where the “group’s fully off the rails now,” was hilarious and seemed so accurate for a bunch of young, attractive guys.

Actually, I loved the author’s sense of humor throughout this one. It’s funny, maybe sometimes in a subtle, dry way, without being juvenile. And I love a good font joke, so wanting “Richard crying in Helvetica” made me stop what I was doing to type it in my notes so I didn’t forget. But as someone religious, I didn’t care for the “party Jesus” Halloween costume.

I can’t speak to the accuracy of Theo’s speech issues, but it seemed very convincing while he was Theo, and it made his perceived shyness more understandable. But it also made his boldness and ability to speak without issue harder to understand when he was masked.

As for the masked man part of the storyline, I don’t know why Theo wasn’t upset she’d jump into something with someone else when she didn’t know it was him. (If I was crushing hard on someone and they hooked up with a "stranger," I'd be heartbroken.) But I loved the text messages between them when she wasn't positive it was him.

I found the whole romance between Theo and Mila--once they finally told each other how they felt--really sweet. I loved that they brought out the best in each other and went to bat for each other. And I loved even the little gestures, like Theo having cereal for her when she visited.

Jesse’s actions in the first book were infuriating, and he hadn’t shown much growth in the beginning of this one (though later on he became a really good friend). He got himself in trouble again by partying, and then he wants to…throw a party while people are still cleaning up his previous mess? I get that the damage control and then the party had to happen for the encounter between Mila and the masked man to happen, but I kind of wished it wasn’t all because Jesse was in trouble again.

It might be a me thing, but I sometimes got Naomi and Natalie confused. I probably would have picked a different name for the friend at work, especially since I see the next in the series is about her.

I laughed a bit at the part talking about Richard speaking in the third person since this book is also told in the third person present tense, just like the first one in the series. I wasn’t a fan of it then, and I still don’t feel like it works. I wasn’t as distracted by it this time, though there were times I wondered who the he/she/they referred to due to the third person. But upon further reflection, I think it’s the present tense part that throws me off more than the third person.

It was predictable, but overall, I loved it, and I am looking forward to Naomi’s novella!

Are you looking for a new hockey romance to sink your teeth into? Do you want a little element of mystery, of yearning crushes (but also some hidden identity vibes)? You want some good banter, some found family, some healing from your past? You want a woman who kicks butt at her job, has good female friends, and knows how to put people in their place when they threaten someone she loves?

Twisted Shot is the first book I've read by Rachel Anthony and you can bet your butt that I'm going to be starting the first book in the Skate Me Home series as soon as I've finished posting this review. I had such a fun time reading this book and I genuinely cackled with laughter at some of the lines. The hockey itself takes a back seat in this book*, despite Theo being a core player and Mila working on marketing the team, but it's done in such a smooth way that I wasn't missing it at all.

One warning: if you read this, you're going to be counting down the days until Poke Check (book 3) is released in 2026. But it's good to have things to look forward to, right?

*Slight sidebar here about that because you may be thinking that the hockey is not what a reader should or will be looking for: a lot of the time I'm like, hey! Hockey is so pivotal and important to the character and their characterization/motivations etc and yet we get so little of it that it ends up feeling frustrating. Like we're missing aspects of the character or hand waving it away so that we can get to the other stuff. I did not feel that way AT ALL with this book. Theo was such a full character and I cared about him and the team in ways that I wasn't expecting.

Twisted Shot is the story of Mila, BFF of Natalie from Blocked Shot, Book 1 in Rachel Anthony's Skate Me Home series, and Theo Tillbury. I've been anticipating this story, as readers had a peek at the attraction between Mila and Theo, and I was not disappointed. They fairly scorched the pages!

I loved how the story starts out with Mila finding out her bookfriend/boss had been cheating on her, and her extracting revenge on him. I felt her continued turmoil at having to work with/under the cheating ex, and how she was able to stand out & shine despite the cheaters attempts to keep her under his thumb. Mila is a strong, resilient woman, the type of female lead character I gravitate to when reading.

Theo was swoonworthy. His background was surprising, while explaining so much about his behaviors. I love how he had to hide to b⁸e able to speak to Mila. Seeing him take his power back from family members and turn the tables on his mother and brother. He is a sensitive and beautiful soul, while able to take his own power back from the people who try to suppress him due to his speech impediment. Theo is the perfect male lead character, the kind I love to read.

Seeing Mila and Theo together, supporting and encouraging each other, and learning how to be together as a couple, was so satisfying. The way in which the reader closes the book at The End with a happiness in their heart, and a smile on their face. This book is a Five-Star for me, for sure, and I believe it will be for you too. I sure hope you give this book a read, and be sure to also read book 1 in the series.

**ARC REVIEW**

Firstly I would love to thank Rachel for allowing me to read her book.

If you are looking for a hockey romance this actually covers the basics of hockey and team feeling then this is it. Add in a little mystery masked man and spice you’ve got this book.

Mila is a strong kick ass woman who takes on the task to bring back the Whalers Ice Hockey team into their community’s focus after helping and cleaning up her not little brother Jesse issue.

Moody and silent Theo who just can’t get his words out around Mila comes to the rescue.

The relationship between these two have you going will they won’t they.

Theo having to deal with past and present demons has him questioning whether he is worth it.

It’s a must read. Can’t wait to read Poke Check when it’s out in Jan 2026.

Mila is excited to finally have a chance at leading a campaign. After dumping her ex, she now hopes to finally get a promotion. Working with the Whalers, promoting the players to draw more interest and ticket sales. Ok, maybe she's hoping maybe just maybe a certain player may finally make a move. Theo enjoys being in the shadows. If nobody notices him, them nobody will be embarrassed by him. Being part of the team is different. There's so many characters on the team that he can just blend in. But then there's Mila, she's gorgeous, funny and above all she stands out in a crowd. He can never be what she wants. This is a steamy heartwarming story. The saying the heart knows what it wants is definitely true with these two characters. Although it may not be an easy journey, a few people try to put a spanner in the works. Can they overcome the problems and can bridges be built. I love this series and can't wait to read the next book.

I have to say, this book was much more enjoyable than I expected! It was a really fun, fast-paced read. The chemistry between the main characters was great, and the story kept me hooked.

I also appreciated how well the explicit sexual scenes were handled—they were definitely steamy and very well written.

Overall, this installment was a great addition to the series. I'm already looking forward to the third book! Highly recommended for a fun, spicy romance read.

The second book in the series has us revisiting the Hartford Whalers. Mila spends a weekend with her friend Natalie (from book one) after finding out she probably shouldn’t have dated where she worked.

We get to see Mila be the fierce and passionate PR maven who rescues Jesse (Natalie’s brother and Whaler) from a potentially career ending PR nightmare. But… being in Hartford means she gets to see what Theo has been up to and whether or not he’s interested in her.

Mila gets the opportunity to spend time with Theo and a few of the other boys from the team after landing a PR gig for the team.

Theo is absolutely wrecked for Mila but can’t express how he is feeling about her in the way that he thinks she’s wants.

All I have to say is I’m in love with Theo and how he creates a space for him and Mila - think masked stranger - to bond over mutual physical interest.

Mila and Theo go through a tough time where it clicks for Mila that Theo has some challenges with his speech and doesn’t like small talk. Or having to do something in a crowd of people.

However Theo shows up for Mila in a big way after an emcee has to bail for legit reasons at her biggest event for the Whalers. A true testament to showing up. Or if he wanted to he would. Which is why I absolutely love Theo.

Also Richard is gross and I hate that women can likely relate to interactions with guys like that. But I’m glad it was written into the story to show how these big time guys are fragile snowflakes when women out perform them on the job!

Overall if you’re looking for a book that will have you feeling your feels (in a good way) you need read Mila and Theo!

Twisted Shot is a compellingly, realistic and interesting story that I think will resonate with a wide variety of readers as the story artfully exposes the emotional, inner conscious of Mila Anderson in ways that many men and woman can identify with.

Mila is a publicist, and intensely independent. Her independence guides her to avoid athletes after painful recent experiences. Of course that changes when she encounters a person far outside the rules set by her independent mind. These types of stories are the best, regardless of the genre. When a character stumbles upon new people or experiences outside their established mental rules and especially during vulnerable moments, well it can be exciting to ride along and watch. Good stories let the reader see how the experiences change the character in meaningful ways. This is one of those stories.

The story’s strength truly lies in its incredibly well-written dialogue, capturing moments with a precision that genuinely pulls the reader - including me, as someone who typically doesn’t gravitate towards this particular genre into the process of the characters as they build connections.

As the title indicates, there is a somewhat deliberate unfolding of the relationship between Mila and Theo, a hockey player and that patience is rewarded with a romance that feels honest rather than manufactured. Twisted Shot is great not because of grand gestures or twisty plots but because it infers emotional realism between friends and lovers who really seem to care. And that trust makes the story legitimate and fun.

"A romance that proves love doesn’t need perfect words, just the right hear."

Mila is a marketingpowerh ouse who’s built her life on strategy, and after being betrayed by her ex, the last thing s h e wants is to risk heartbreak again. Her new job leading a marketing campaign for a pro hockey team is supposed to be a fresh start. No distractions. No romance. No problems.... enter the masked stranger at a team party. One night. One encounter. One filthy-mouthed Dom who sets her world on fire, making her question everything.

Theo may be a star athlete on the ice, but off it, he’s shy and guarded. A lifetime of being teased for his stutter pushed him into silence until he created his alter ego, the mysterious “Man in Black.” Behind the mask, he’s confident and commanding. When Theo finally steps out of the shadows….it’s pure magic!

What really tugged at my h eart was the quiet tenderness beneath Theo ’s rough edges. His bond with Mila isn’t just built on desire but mutual respect, trust , and the courage to be vulnerable and seen.

This book is for every reader who loves a hero who speaks volumes - sometimes without saying much at all - and a heroine strong enough to stand beside him.

Twisted Shot is a steamy sports romance, book two in the author's Skate Me Home series.

While relatively light in tone, a serious issue is tackled with sensitivity and understanding as the story progresses. The ending is cute and shows growth in the characters. I'm guessing some of the humor is geared to hockey fans. Sex in the book leans toward graphic rather than romantic.

The writing style is third person present. Although this isn't my favorite style, I know some readers may feel it's more immediate.

Quite a few of the character's names start with the same letter (and somewhat similar length), making them more challenging to differentiate, especially when first introduced. For example, Jake, Jesse, Jaryd, Janet, JP and Jim.

Various repetitious words and story continuity issues are present. For example, early in the book Natalie refers to herself as a hockey wife (she's married to Jake or at least they're living together), but much later a character says Jake and Natalie are dating.

My biggest concern is that I couldn't understand why main character Mila would have gotten involved with Richard, making her difficult to relate to or like. It also showed she lacks good judgment (which is displayed afterward more than once). It's suggested in the story the character DOES lack judgment, but that didn't change her likability for me.

Though issues were noted, I expect hockey fans and lovers of steamy romance will enjoy this book.

cute, steamy, a little different

Lots of obstacles in this story. Mila’s been dating a cheating ahole she works with. As a way of getting distance from her messed up love / work life, she’s off for a weekend to visit friends. Specifically her friends associated with (assistant coach and a player for) the Hartford Whalers minor league hockey team.

While there, she handles a social media and PR fiasco, putting her on the radar of the team owner. He offers to hire her firm to run a PR campaign in an attempt to raise profitability, making the team more valuable to sell.

And then there’s Theo, assistant captain of the team. Secretly born of a wealthy family who don’t approve of him. And guarding a heartbreaking speech disability.

I was reminded a bit of “A King’s Speech” in regards to the speech disability. Although it was a bit hard to weight that in the same stratosphere as the kind of illnesses that the other kids in the children’s hospital were dealing with.

Richard had no redeeming qualities whatsoever, making Mila’s dating him, ever, seem contrived and out-of-character. Most secondary characters were fairly two-dimensional, placing all the weight of plot on the leads, and apparently minor league hockey teams do lots of social events and community outreach - which held more drama than the actual playing hockey part.

All in all it was steamy and drama-filled with a solid HEA for the Mila & Theo.

This was a bit of a "it’s not you, it’s me" kind of read. I really wanted to love it, but I just didn't fully click with the story.

The book is solid. The writing is great wth beautiful prose that feels natural without being overly flowery. And the pacing flows well. But for some reason, the story just didn't captivate me. I never had that desperate urge to say "I need to get back to this book asap" when I set it down. It’s a short read, but it took me ages to finish because I kept struggling to stay engaged.

A big part of the struggle is Theo the MMC. His actions in the beginning left me so frustrated and I think that made it hard for me to settle into the story. It definitely gets better as it goes on. Mila is a total sweetheart, her personality and actions always felt warranted and grounded.

The highlights are definitely the spicy and the masked man aspect. If you love a slow burn with some VERY NAUGHTY NICE dirty talk, this book is for you.

However, the ending left me feeling a little unfulfilled. I’m a sucker for those big, soppy "I love you forever" kinds of endings, and this one don't have that.

Overall, it was a tough one. The writing quality is spot on, and I know plenty of people will obsess over this, but it just wasn't a perfect match for my personal tastes.

Things I loved about this book: Theo. The first 30% almost had me tapping out, but I stuck it out (it didn’t take long) and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

I was confused at first. If Theo was the man in black then how could he be okay with Mia essentially booking up with a stranger. I understood eventually. The longer I read, the more I fell in love. I honestly wanted to reach through the pages to reassure Theo myself. My heart broke for him so many times through the story. I loved reading his monologues and how Jesse pumped him up.

My favorite part was when Theo showed up for Mila. I also appreciated how Theo was able to support Mila without completely taking over control. Both characters saved room for the other to grow and excel on their own merit.

Rachel Anthony has a knack for writing *good* spice! If you’re looking for a hero with a filthy mouth then I’d def recommend this one for you. It’s not too spice heavy, there are maybe 4-5 scenes, and they never disappointed! Overall, this was a fun+ easy read.

This slow burn was excruciating. Rachel Anthony really knows how to build tension, both physically and emotionally. When everything finally reached the breaking point, it felt inevitable, not forced.

Mila is a PR rep who uses her skills to get her best friend's brother out of a tough spot and does such a good job that the hockey team hires her firm. Theo and Mila have been making eyes at each other for months but haven't acted on the mutual attraction. At a Halloween party, a masked man makes his move with Mila, and she is left trying to figure out who just rocked her world.

I love Theo. He is so sweet and stoic and unwavering in his support of those who are important to him. His struggles with speech and associated anxiety were super relatable, and honestly, I get the third act conflict. His family is absolutely awful, but I'm glad that there was some growth. I felt evil glee at the end with Conrad and the golfing outing.

Thank you to BookSirens and Rachel Anthony for the free eARC.

Finally belonging
This is book 2 in the Skate Me Home series and can easily be read as a stand alone.
In saying that though, I loved that the characters I so enjoyed from book 1 played a large part in this novel.
This is Mila and Theo’s story and the little crush they had in the earlier book sure does escalate in this one.
Theo is painfully quiet and seems to hide in the shadows when out in crowds.
Playing hockey on the ice is his safe place and where he feels most at home.
Mila is beautiful, bright and bubbly and Theo gravitates toward her whenever she is near.
She feels equally drawn to him but holds back as she wants him to make the first move.
Read along to find out how these two navigate their feelings.
There is a nasty ex to contend with, a bit of fun with a mysterious masked man and some steamy scenes.
Such a great storyline and I loved all the characters.
Looking forward to the next hockey player to find his perfect partner.

Twisted Shot by Rachel Anthony is a slow-burn hockey romance that quietly resonates with strength, patience, and the power of showing up. Mila, recovering from a toxic relationship, meets Theo—a masked stranger whose silence isn’t mysterious, but protective. As their connection deepens, Mila learns that Theo struggles with speech, and instead of pushing for words, she offers something far more powerful: quiet support and unwavering presence.

Theo is the heart of this story. His speech challenges don’t define him, but they shape how he moves through the world—with caution, vulnerability, and surprising strength. Rachel Anthony doesn’t dramatize his silence; she lets it breathe, giving space for Theo’s actions, expressions, and quiet moments to speak volumes. Mila’s willingness to meet him where he is—to listen without demanding, to love without needing constant conversation—makes their bond feel deeply earned.

Twisted Shot delivers something rare: a romance built on trust, patience, and the kind of support that doesn’t need to be loud to be life-changing.

Theo and Mila’s story is so sweet. Their history of previous interest and yearning combined with Mila coming back to help the Whalers’ PR and Theo’s reluctance to pursue her provides great background for building their relationship while not being too overwhelming with details.
I adore the ambition and no-nonsense attitude Mila has in her approach to work and life! She’s such an awesome character. Theo is his own special soul, massive but a big, gentle teddy bear when and where it matters. The personal conflict and development Theo must undergo and the great representation of those with speech impediments is fantastic. As the story progresses, I’m so freaking proud of Theo for everything he must overcome to provide Mila with the support she so desperately deserves!
Favorite quotes:
“Because I want you so bad it scares me. And the second I start to think I could be worthy of you….I remember who I am.”
“Wanting her is easy. It’s the most natural thing in the world. But having her feels impossible.”
“I’m so proud of you, Theodore.”

Mila Anderson works in marketing, and thanks to her, her company lands a gig for the professional hockey team Theo Tilbury plays for. The two have met before through mutual friends, but never interacted much due to Theo's shyness. It turns out that his shyness stems from his stutter, which is something he has to work on in order to move forward in a relationship with Mila.

What I enjoyed about the book was the (idea of) the storyline as well as the main characters. However, I felt like (without knowing much about what it's like to stutter) the way Theo overcame his issues seemed irrationally fast. Also, I prefer 1st person POV (which I don't see mentioned in the blurb on Goodreads but it may have been mentioned in the ARC sign-ups), while this book was written in the 3rd person. That resulted in a few instances of confusion on my part.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and give it 3 big stars. But it is not one I plan on re-reading.

Thank you to Book SIrens for an ARC copy of this book.
This book was so much more than I thought it would be. Sure, it's a romance and sure, it has hockey in it, but the two MCs were so much more than I hoped for.
First of all, Mila was an adult - acting like an adult - with complexities and contrasts, working in a male-dominated field and had a sense of worth and sense of humour, which I really liked.
Theo...what can I say about this gorgeous, gorgeous man? He was *chef's kiss* with his quiet, broody, sentimental heart and unwavering adoration for Mila. He challenged himself, worked on himself and finally felt like he'd found home because he was willing to put the work into it.

Men who read need to read more MMC like him who show they aren't afraid to be vulnerable, honest and scared of leaping into love.
I am definitely going to go back and read book one - while waiting impatiently for book three!

“Wit, Heat, and Heart on Ice”

The first sentence made me laugh straight away. Scratch that, the first page made me laugh! I knew I was going to love TWISTED SHOT and Rachel Anthony’s style. And sure enough, she didn’t disappoint.

TWISTED SHOT is everything I want in a romance: tension that sizzles, dialogue that sparkles, and characters so real I find myself cheering them on. The writing, the book has that irresistible blend of humor, heat, and humanity that makes it impossible to put down.

I don’t want to spoil anything at all, but I have to say how much I respect and care for the way Anthony incorporated and honored a particular character. The approach was done with such tenderness and grace.

There’s wit, there’s fun, and there’s love, but most of all there’s heart. Rachel Anthony’s people are just lovely. Their flaws, their courage, their chemistry. It all feels alive. I am a fan. For sure!

This is a hidden identity romance that will have you cheering on Mila and Theo their relationship is beautiful. I love the growth they share together and their big hockey family adds humor and maybe a little drama at times. Theo steps up for Mila when he's needed most and I loved the way Mila handled Theo's older brother he's seriously awful, if you have a friend like Mila you know she has your back.

I really enjoyed this book and thank the author and book sirens for my advanced copy! Not so patiently waiting for my next read from this author.

I enjoyed this book - and it was written well for a quick vacation read. The FMC was likeable and relatable. I did get frustrated early on with the MMC, but as the story went on, I understood why he did some of the things he did or said. The pacing was great - slow burn, but not to slow that I lost interest. Spice was a medium - a few scenes, but none of them over the top with descriptions.

With all that said, I felt the ending was lack luster. For a romance, if felt a bit strange that the MCs never even verbalize their love for one another. It just felt a little unfinished for the genre for me.

Perfection!! Theo and Mila were fantastic!

This pair really roped me in - Mila’s fierce and perfectly crafted responses to Richard (I see what you did there!!) and Theo’s journey with his stutter.

Honestly how can you not root for Theo? The stoic stay at home defensemen that has chosen hockey despite his family’s awful teasing and behaviour. Mila is the fine balance between assertive and driven with a softness for her friends and family.

I really enjoyed the texting while Mila figured out who her masked admirer was and how she really stood up for Theo with his family.

The charity gala!!! (I don’t want to spoil too much for other readers, but so great)

I feel like the author is developing her style well and book 2 had a great pace that really spotlighted the MMC’s.

Thank you to Rachel Anthony and BookSirens for allowing me to ARC read Twisted Shot.

After reading Blocked Shot (book 1) back in the summer, I was so excited to continue reading about The Whalers 🏒
We get a small glimpse of Mila and Theo in Blocked Shot, and even in that I just know their story was going to be great, and I wasn’t wrong.

The yearning between these two is just chef’s kiss 💋 add in a bit of masked mystery and this book will have you hooked.

I finished this book in 24 hours, I just couldn’t put it down and am already excited to read the novella Poke Check coming in Jan 2026 😆

Another great book from Rachel! I loved the tension from Mila and Theo in book 1, and this one delivered on that. Mila finds the man she deserves in Theo, and shows her corporate badassery while doing it.Theo finally finds someone he feels fully comfortable with, and his family starts to make amends in the process. His inner war through the book with what he thinks he can give her and what she knows he can give her is emotional, but when he allows himself to have what he deserves it’s truly beautiful. Oh and who doesn’t love a good spicy woods scene with a mask😉 and the golfing scene in the epilogue is hilariously perfect. I can’t wait for Tall and Naomi’s book in January!

I honestly loved this book. It would of been 5 stars but the secret identify part felt a little unhinged for me.

As someone with a stutter this was great representation - and done so well. I really appreciate the care that was done to this part of the story.

Theo - loved him but it does always make me 🤔 when the shy guys who can’t put together a sentence are dirty talkers in the bedroom and know what they’re doing in the bedroom..:: but can’t talk to to women. Small detail that I’m ignoring because I loved him and Milo together.

Theo’s family was terrible. For his sake - glad his mom and Q came around - but honestly they didn’t deserve it.

This was my first book by this author and it was very cute. I love a hockey romance and this delivered. I was a little confused in the beginning because I thought it was the NHL but it was actually the farm team. I thoroughly enjoyed that little tidbit because I don’t think I’ve read a hockey romance from that perspective before. I loved the relationship that developed between the two main characters, I also thought the author did a very good job with sensitive subjects. Would highly recommend this book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
