He’s a stranger. I’m the fake bride. And we’re stuck playing lovers in front of a crowd.
Agness Thomsen didn’t sign up for this — especially not for marrying a man who’s calm, unreadable, and dangerously handsome.
Jerome Livingstone isn’t cold on purpose — he’s just… not the type to get involved. But when a last-minute wedding crisis throws them together, they’re forced to act like a couple. A convincing one.
The kind that touches. Smiles. Pretends the tension between them isn’t slowly melting something inside.
The worst part? The fake part is starting to feel dangerously real.
Melt My Glaciers is a slow-burn, emotional romance full of stolen glances, charged silences, and all the ways love surprises us when we least expect it.
💔 She’s sworn off love.
💍 He’s her ex’s brother.
🔥 But what if pretending is no longer enough?
✨ Features:
– Forbidden fake marriage with real tension
– Brother of the ex-boyfriend romance
– Forced proximity, emotional slow burn
– Witty banter meets healing and heartbreak
– For fans of Ali Hazelwood and Mariana Zapata
Melt My Glaciers is a romantic dramedy full of fire, flaws, and feelings you can’t fake — no matter how hard you try.

This story is filled with fake weddings, biting sarcasm and that "we-won’t-admit-we-love-each-other" energy. If you’re into messy but cute love, healing
wounds, and chemistry that sizzles beneath the surface — you’re in for a ride.

I really liked this. It was cute and fun and a veryyy quick read.
I can imagine having a bad day and just binge-reading this book for 3-4 hours (that's all it took me to read this) and feeling lighthearted afterwards.
I like how the fmc had a choice between the brothers (the past and the present) and no one was forcing her to immediately come in terms with everything.
I also really liked the fact that they COMMUNICATED. Otherwise it could have been a very complicated and messy situation.
I also like that for such a short novel, they got to know each other slowly and properly.

The trope in the last 25% did put me a little off since i don't like it being the reason of conflict (I'm so sorry but that's just a me thing)

"It was easy to be around her. Warm. My soul felt warm. But opening up still felt terrifying. The wound hadn’t healed yet."

"Hardly anyone ever praised my writing—only Lexi and my younger siblings, Alice and Eric. But hearing it from someone else… It felt like unlocking a chest full of long-lost dreams. That kind of emotion doesn’t come with laughter—it comes with tears."

I was so fortunate enough to receive an ARC copy of this book and let me just say, it completely exceeded my expectations.

Going in to it and reading the first little bit, I had a feeling it was going to feel too insta lovey for my usual liking, but I was completely wrong.

One thing I love is a fake marriage trope
But a fake marriage where he’s her ex’s brother?
TALK ABOUT ICONIC.

Anyways, I really did love this book.
It was short and sweet and to the point, didn’t linger too long on unimportant or dragging out details.

The “insta love” that I thought was going to come from this didn’t really play out that way, sure it was insta love, but you could see it really develop as well. You could see that yeah, it started out as a revenge plot…but they grew into loving each other more than loving to get revenge.

It all seemed to move really fast, but I actually didn’t mind it.
I loved the relationship Anges and Jerome had.
The ending? The plot twist I didn’t know I needed, but the plot twist I LOVE all the same.

Absolutely such a fun little read, I’d definitely recommend

You know the palette cleansers you get between meals to prevent one meal from blending into another? This for me was kind of the book version of that. Hang on it makes sense, honestly. I read various genres and find shorter books are great for reading in between the full length novels when the books your reading are too similar. For example you’d be able to sandwich this book with 2 dark romances and having it between them it helps you keep each story separate.

This book is pretty low on angst and drama but is still funny, entertaining and written well enough to keep your attention. There are plenty of witty one liners (especially when throwing shade at the less than lovely Stefiana) and longing glances to fill the pages, although there are enough miscommunications between the two MC’s that you may want to bang their heads together.

I loved watching the slower progression of Jerome and Agnes’ relationship, starting with friendship as the basis and gradually growing into the full romantic relationship it became. It was very much a natural progression instead of feeling forced like in some similar romance books, and even though it wasn’t an insta-love situation there was a definite connection between them.

“With Jerome, things felt different. We weren’t lovers, or even friends yet, but I could already sense some strange bond forming between us. And though I was nervous to fall asleep next to him that first night, I had never felt more at ease—or more free from my own anxious thoughts.”

I really enjoyed the friendship between Lexi and Agnes, I felt like Lexi pushed Agnes out of her comfort zone but still managed to have her back and support her throughout and without forcing her own viewpoint on her.

Overall a great read by a great author. I would definitely read more of her work.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

ARC REVIEW

I want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to be among the first to read her novel before its release. What I read was an Advance Reader Copy, so the final version may differ.

First of all I want to say that this is a fast paced romance, which is not my preferred type. But I do believe fast-paced romances can be successful with the right amount of pages and execution. Unfortunately, this didn't hit the spot for me in that sense (200-ish pages 😭), but it was an enjoyable novel still.

The story opens with Jerome at his own wedding, madly in love and ready to spend forever with his fiancée, until he discovers she’s been cheating. In a spur of the moment decision, he marries a complete stranger, Agness, right there at the wedding. And that’s how their unexpected journey begins.

Agness is a kind and spontaneous woman, but her breakup has left her insecure. Still, she steps into new challenges and does something wild like marrying a stranger in front of everyone to make her ex jealous. Over time, it’s lovely to see her grow more confident and learn to stand up for herself and her relationship, and actually value herself beyond a man.

Jerome is caring and gentle but struggles with communication, often reacting impulsively before he’s able to calmly discuss things.

Lexi is the comedic relief, the supportive friend who lightens the mood and I love her. Vincent and Stefania… well, Vincent is emotionally unavailable and afraid of commitment, so I didn’t connect with him at all. And Stefania is either a deeply hurt woman or a total b1tch, there's no in between.

This is a short, easy-to-read rom-com with lighthearted romance and sweet moments. One of my favorite scenes was Agness buying Jerome a birthday gift and, before giving it to him, they finally confess their feelings openly without leaving place for interpretation. That kiss in the rain? Actual goosebumps.

Where it could improve?
At times, the book felt like a movie script, which has its charm, because the scenes are easy to picture, but it also meant there were abrupt jumps. For example, we skip over the actual wedding ceremony entirely, or moments suddenly happen without clear setup. Oh, and I still don't know how Lexi was invited to the wedding therefore bringing Agness with her, or if Alice and Elison (El) are the same person.
Some plot points stretched believability. Like Jerome getting over his nine-year relationship in just two days and already catching deep feelings for Agness. The miscommunication between characters was also a bit frustrating.
I also felt there were places where more detail and development would have made the story richer. Perhaps this is due to the ARC format and may be different in the final release.

Overall, it's a light, quick read that will make you smile, laugh, and occasionally shake your head. There’s definite potential here, and I believe Lily Siu will only grow as a writer with each book she publishes.

Some quotes and my respective annotations :))

"Sometimes I really do think guys have fewer thoughts simply because... they don't think" - I loooved this. Say it louder please 👏👏👏

"When it's the right person, you don't need time. You don't need a slow build. The spark just ignites. Whether you're ready or not."

"Lexi glanced at me with a smirk, looking very much like a raccoon washing a treat in a river." - I laughed so hard at this. I've never heard a comparison like this.

"Maybe that makes me a bit heartless, but honestly — who else is going to protect my peace if not me?" - girl, preachhh

"You're not just a rebound. Not a distraction from Steph or anything else you're imagining in that beautiful but overly dramatic head of yours. Stop thinking that way. I'm not ending this marriage." - Jeromeeee, come pick me off my floor. I've melted 🫠

"You're breathtaking, from every angle." - when I tell you that setting and these words made my stomach feel things...

“I never want you to hesitate before telling me anything again,” he said softly. “I want you to see me as your husband — your partner in every sense. Your lover and your friend. Someone who listens, supports, and protects you.” 🥺❤️

I recently had the pleasure of reading "Melt My Glaciers" by Lily Siu, courtesy of an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is exactly what I needed after diving into a heavy read: a light, refreshing romance that didn't feel rushed despite its quick pace.

The story follows Agnes Thomsen and Jerome Livingston as they enter into a fake wedding arrangement to get back at their exes. Agnes' ex-boyfriend, who happens to be Jerome's brother, and Jerome's ex-fiancée who cheated on him, are the catalysts for this temporary arrangement. However, as they spend more time together, their initial intentions fade, and they start to develop real feelings for each other.

What I loved about this book is how the author managed to balance the length with character development. Agnes and Jerome's relationship unfolds naturally, allowing readers to get to know them better as they navigate their emotions. Jerome's clear communication and reassurance towards Agnes are particularly endearing, and their chemistry is undeniable.

The supporting cast is equally impressive. Lexi, Agnes's best friend, brings a lively and down to earth energy to the story, while Ingrid, Jerome's mother, is the epitome of a supportive and loving parent. On the other hand, Vincent, Agnes' ex-boyfriend, is perfectly cast as the annoying and commitment-phobic ex.

The romance is sweet, funny, and filled with rom-com vibes that make for a heartwarming read. The spice is just right, not too much, but also doesn’t give YA, just enough to add a spark to the story. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed "Melt My Glaciers" and would recommend it to anyone looking for a light, feel-good romance.

No surprise I enjoyed this one, it was an easy quick read with a really lovely story one I can admit made my heart smile

A rom-com with a fake marriage, forced proximity, one bed, jealousy, miscommunication, secret feelings, all with a HEA.

Something I am not a fan of is the miscommunication between the MCs. I know its me to a tee because well I am a overthinker but miscommunication happens a lot we as humans assume things to quickly we let our own insecurities take over but I must say it didn't bother me being a short book I think if the book was longer and story was drawn out this would of been a deal breaker for me.

These characters grow, they learn to communicate and prove the love does win in the end. It is a beautifully short and sweet story, a perfect palette cleanser if you need one and aren't looking a long read.

I also really enjoyed the side characters as well they really added to the story, there are at least two love stories in there that can be written into their own little stories, hint hint to the author Lily

I know we have chatted a lot about your book but I want to thank you again for letting me ARC read this book. I really couldn't stop smiling while reading it

Melt My Glaciers is one of those books that completely pulls you in from the very first chapter and refuses to let go❄️💕

This is a romance full of delicious slow-burn tension, witty banter, and emotional vulnerability that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. What really stood out to me was how beautifully the story balances drama, humor, and heart—making the fake marriage setup feel both fun and deeply meaningful.

The characters felt so real. Their interactions had me laughing, swooning, and even holding my breath at times. And underneath all the fun tropes (fake marriage, brother’s ex, forced proximity), there’s such a heartfelt exploration of love, trust, and healing.

✨ The author’s writing style is captivating... cinematic, emotional, and incredibly engaging. Every scene plays out so vividly that I felt like I was right there with the characters.

If you enjoy slow-burn romances with fire-and-ice chemistry, plenty of banter, and a whole lot of heart, then this book absolutely deserves a spot on your TBR💍❄️🔥

🌸 Huge thank you to the author for the ARC copy! I feel so lucky to have gotten to experience this beautiful story early💙

2.5 ⭐️ Unfortunately this book was a miss for me. There was too much inconsistency and confusion in the writing, different names for the same character (sister: Ellison or Alice?), lots of typos and mistakes made throughout not just grammatically but also in sentence structure. You’d also have a section for one character’s POV but then it’d randomly switch without notice for a sentence or two. There was also random jumps in time mid-paragraph. It left for a lot of confusion for the reader.
The storyline was very rushed too, and unrealistic to be honest. I felt the premise had a lot of promise; and with some good developmental editorial work, it could have gotten there, but unfortunately it didn’t for me.
I appreciate the author sharing her ARC with me in exchange for my honest review. I know with a great editor and some growth, she’ll get there as an author! I’d still definitely consider reading future works from her.

Recieved as an ARC 🫶🏻 I finished this book in two days, absolutely adored it. The start was very intriguing, it captivated me and i was so curious as to what would happen now so I took the leap of faith and let's say it didn't disappoint!!

I loved the cute banter, the angst and even the misunderstandings and fights that irritated me but it kinda made their relationship feel more realistic because yes a man can get upset! BUT my favourite character ron was given only one scene in the book and a little moment in the epilogue. That makes me reaaalllyyy saad.

The ending did not particularly stand out to me. It felt very typical, like the plot wasn't intense and the epilogue was predictable. But if you enjoy an easy cute read or wanna take your mind off of everything and relax without a commitment this is the perfect book with just 165 pages.

Agness and Jerome find themselves both in quite the pickle, their exes suck! Agness’ ex left her for someone else and now awkwardly she’s at a wedding in which he happens to be in the bridal party. Jerome is in that same wedding party, as the groom. Too bad his fiancé is a trash human. Not to worry Agness and Jerome will just get married to spite their exes. That’ll all work out fine, right?

This book is a riot. The characters tend to make insane choices but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. It’s a short story that is written well. I believe the tension and I’m here for the love story.

Some reasons to give it a read:
Fake marriage
Forced proximity
Ex-boyfriend’s brother
Best Mother-In-Law ever
A cast of delightful characters
One bed. The marriage bed!

Received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review

This book perfectly encapsulates that slow burn, fake marriage trope! If that’s your kind of book, then I definitely recommend this one.
I enjoyed reading this book as a sweet reprieve from the heavier stuff I’ve been reading.
It was sweet to see the growth of the fmc and mmc and even the growth of the side characters.
I’d love to see a story about Lexi & Dustin and Vincent and Alice!!

ARC Review - 3.75⭐⭐⭐💫
Release date - Sep 15, 2025
I flew through this in no time. Especially enjoyed the beginning, the jealousy, the revenge, and all the little moments sprinkled throughout. The romance, for me, could’ve been developed a bit more to really land, it felt too quick at some point. But overall, I would describe the book as short and sweet, potential enough to keep you turning the pages. Thankyou for this heartwarming read.

it's a nice quick read that I think had space for some improvement. The way Agbes and Jerome end up together is chaotic to say the least, with their revenge wedding, but they grow and really evolve with the story.

I wasn't honestly expecting the ending but I think it was a good one. Could we have also Alice and Vincent's story in the future? Love their banter

Thank you for the eArc Lily Siu
