Hood Retribution The Disciples Part 1: God's Plan

Rate this book
When love, lust, and loyalty mix with blood—redemption becomes warfare.

Jenesis Carter thought she’d escaped the past, but scars don’t fade when the man who made them— Simon “Samson” Grey —still breathes her name. The mark on her neck isn’t just a memory. It’s a countdown. Now, a mother trapped in a loveless marriage, Jen feels the storm closing in. Because Samson isn’t finished with her—he’s coming to collect what he believes is his.

Peter Martinez, a U.S. Marshal torn between oath and blood, slaps cuffs on his own brother, Godrique “God” James. The arrest ignites a chain reaction that throws Peter into the path of Magdalena “Ma” Mallory —a mysterious woman who crashes into his night like a match to gasoline. Their chemistry is instant, and that may be their fatal mistake.

As their worlds collide, a predator known only as The Ladies’ Man stalks the city’s women, leaving mutilated bodies and twisted love notes to the one who got away— Ma. Every move he makes pulls Ma and Peter deeper into his web—until pleasure, obsession, and vengeance become indistinguishable.

Explosions. Betrayals and bodies in the dark. When survival is holy and revenge is scripture, nobody escapes God’s plan—and some prayers are answered in blood.

well, that is how you do a cliffhanger!

I know that we are gonna get a part two to this book but after waiting for so long, I am super anxious and can’t wait to see how it all connects. Good job. Good job.

I have been waiting for this one and babyyyyy… when I tell you it did not disappoint?! From the very first page I was locked in...like glued-to-my-seat-can’t-blink type of reading. It’s been a minute since I’ve revisited Union City, Clapton, and Del Mar, and walking back into that world felt like home in the most chaotic, drama-filled way possible 😂

Blossom? Yeah, she knows what she’s doing. The story flowed, the characters were messy and magnetic (as always), and whewww can we talk about Simon/Samson? Because listen… I know I’m not supposed to be feeling both of them but there’s just something about a man who lives in the shadows of mystery that makes me say “maybe.” 👀 Don’t judge me....this is delululand and I pay rent there!

The pacing? Fire. The drama? On brand. The cliffhanger? RUDE. But it’s okay because part 2 drops on December 9th and you know I’ll be front row with my Kindle charged and snacks ready.

If you’re not already in this Blossom Reigns cinematic universe, I’m telling you, go catch up. It’s giving chaos, secrets, and “why am I rooting for this villain??” in the best way. 💅🏽

Hood Retribution: The Disciples Part 1 – God’s Plan is dark, gripping, and full of tension that grabs you from the start. Blossom throws you into a world where love, trauma, obsession, and revenge all collide, and nobody walks away untouched.

Jenesis carries scars that never healed, trapped in a life closing in on her, while the man who broke her still whispers her name like a threat. That countdown on her neck hits even harder once you learn the truth.

Peter Martinez is torn between blood and duty, arresting his own brother and falling straight into Ma’s orbit. Their chemistry is dangerous and electric, all while a predator stalks her every move.
This story is packed with obsession, violence, desire, and spiritual warfare in the shadows of Union City.

Bodies drop, secrets explode, and every choice feels like a line between salvation and destruction. A fast, intense start to a series built on blood, betrayal, and redemption with no clean exits.

Ok this is my first written review so give me grace. I told myself this year I will write reviews.

I am so thankful i reread hood crucifixion and hood logic again because baby the way names were being thrown around I would have been lost lol. I’m so annoyed the booked ended so quickly. I’m not used to the slow burn from this author but clearly part two about to go crazy. The cliffhanger had too many moving parts that’s leaving me excited for book 2 release.

So much to unpack in under 130 pages, Wheww!

God's police interview will never not be funny to me!

I think this book fell b4 or ran during Hood Logic since Alianna was in Union City for college and had no idea her father Turk was out of a coma.

This book focuses on Jenesis “Jen” Carter and what happened to her after she and Samson hooked up at the ball and he told her to get lost.

Peter Martinèz is freaking hilarious it seems to be in shock of who his friends are.

Magdalena ‘Ma’ Mallory and The Ladies' Man aka Union City serial killer obsessed with her.

We gain more insight on Samson/Simon dynamic. It was a lot of information and characters but not a lot of developments or answers. fan it ended on the cliffhanger. The good news is, we should have some answers in a couple short months. Hopefully, it will be more than just a few pages to tie this saga together.

Good news we finally make the connection 🙌🏾 to Cece's Samson! And Papa Faxx knew all along!!

If I could describe this book in one word , that word would be "anxiety". Why you may ask, well because this had so many thoughts and stories, if felt like having an anxiety attack, so many thoughts happening at the same time. And it isn't a matter of not keeping up multiple POVs, that isn't the issue, it just feels all over the place without a direction, just drafting thoughts and never quite completing said thoughts.
Past characters from Product of the Street were also thrown in, woah, this was too much.

good type of confused

The best way I can describe reading this book was the best type of confused lol. This book ties together 2 worlds and both worlds have a ton of characters. When there are so many characters and storylines happening at once it’s hard to keep up. HOWEVER, this book was for sure good though I’m going to have to read it again to make sure I grasped everything. The cliffhanger though!?!?!

Now this book was GOOOD!!! I enjoyed how fast paced it was but was still really immersive it was. Simon/Samson is NUTS but I need more of them! I truly don't think there is one sane person in this book. Also I still dont care for Rae & Vitani as characters.... that is probably why I disliked the fiesr book so much.

I can't wait for the next book!

I put off reading this book because there’s is a Part 2
Coming soon…so stop! I’d recommend waiting and read all Hood books together.

It’s been so long though since I read Hood Logic that I really needed a character legend to remind me of some of the characters and their storyline.

4.5 ⭐️. I will say I wasn’t expecting at least four chapters to be repeats from other books but I understand it’s all connected dots. Simon/Samson acting a whole fool lol. That man is the definition of unhinged. I love seeing the cameos from Pots. I hate this was so short and I need book 2.

Plans change

It seems very fast pace and alot going on. Don't fluff but slow it down let us feel it. Get indepth so we feel all the emotions and every stroke.

Lots of storylines & people to follow. I was lowkey confused about some things but I’m sure it will be answered in the next book(s) to come. Don’t go into this book expecting answers to the raised questions. Highly recommend reading Product of the Street x E. Bowser and Hood Logic before diving into this series so you know who everyone is.

This book is HOT LIKE really hot!

This book is everything. It’s street. It’s erotic. It’s drama. It’s “what the f…did I just read?” over and over. Everybody is a little off, everybody doing too much, and somehow it all works.

The characters don’t feel fake or rushed. You actually care what happens to them, even when they’re dead wrong. The story pulls you in fast and next thing you know you’re deep in it, telling yourself you’ll stop after one more chapter and you realize real quick that that was a lie!

This is one of those that you will lose sleep over and then be at work dragging yourself. Then
when it’s over, you’re mad because you want it to keep going and you feel like you read it too fast.
