12-year-old Jeremiah Priestly discovers something out of this world during his 7th grade year. Over the course of the past two years, he has developed a supernatural power he calls intuition. When something in the town of Shamong, New Jersey, has been awakened, Jeremiah discovers he is not alone. Other students in the town of Shamong have kept their powers secret as well. When their friend Peter Matchstick is possessed by a disturbed and angry Demon it becomes clear that some action must be taken. The students quickly form a group of companions called the “Ghost Squad” and begin to pursue the dark creature that has begun to haunt Shamong Township. While dealing with the stress of starting a new school year, a brother who has been diagnosed with a mental illness, pointless "middle school drama", and the pressure of becoming a teen, Jeremiah takes it upon himself to solve the mystery of disappearances and haunting within the town. The haunting circumstances become more and more severe until lives begin to hang in the balance, and Jeremiah Priestly and his friends discover that their twelve-year-old insignificant lives have more meaning than they may have wished for.
