Lost In Your Presence

Rate this book
The unexpected always had a way of finding Orielle, and at this point in her life, she was drained. After a betrayal that fractured her heart and eroded her mental peace, she redirected her energy to what grounded her the most. As a rising, talented R&B singer with a growing fan base, there was nothing like heartbreak that made her unleash her best work. Or maybe it was the man who’d unintentionally become her muse?

Fresh out of jail and on a mission to redeem himself, Najee unknowingly became the inspiration behind Orielle’s passionately raw lyrics. Although his focus is solely on expanding his transportation service, Echelon Express, he can’t ignore the instant, emotional pull he has towards her. Orielle should’ve never been on his radar, especially not while he was in a relationship.

Things between them weren’t supposed to go deep…

But what was the point of experiencing someone if only above the surface? Orielle and Najee would never know. While leaning into everything that feels right, they confront the versions of themselves that they’ve outgrown. Was the situation deeply complicated? Yes. But it was worth trusting and choosing even after being deceived.

Please Lost In Your Presence is book 4 in the Evermore Series and does not include a cliffhanger.

Sigh……… I have a lot of things to say about this book and none of them are nice. What I will say, though, the author really should’ve stopped at book two.

I want more….

Najee and Orielle!!!! Their story is complete but I feel like I want more time with them. Najee is so intentional and understood that Orielle needed action, not words and he acted up (in the best way) every single time. Orielle was soft and warm and proof that no matter the circumstances if that person is really for you, they are for you!! I was also glad to see old friends pop up. The poems by Kay C. In the beginning and end really rounded this one out perfectly. Congratulations on your 80th release BriAnn….YOU DID THAT!!

✨Book Review✨

Listen… the Evermore Series just doesn’t miss! And Book 4? Baby, it had me deep in my feels.

We meet Orielle, an R&B powerhouse in the making, trying to heal from a betrayal that knocked the wind out of her chest. She’s putting all that pain into her pen and pouring it into her music, Beyoncé Lemonade-style, okay? But life has a funny way of working, because her muse just happens to be a man fresh out of jail with a whole girlfriend. Yep—Najee.

But whew… Najee’s presence?? Let’s just say I see what the title was talking about. 😮‍💨
He wasn’t supposed to fall for Orielle. She wasn’t supposed to even be on his radar. But that emotional pull? UNDENIABLE. And the way this man poured into her? Sheesh! And whewww, that welcome home speech?? Yeah… I knew from that moment Najee was not the one to play with. He stood on business and made it very clear he wasn’t tolerating any mess. A man of few words, but when he speaks? You feel it.

But what really had me swooning was the way he showed up for Orielle—not with just talk, but with actions. He affirmed her. He supported her. He made her feel seen in a way that felt so intentional. The way he poured into her? Babyyyy, that’s a man right there. 😮‍💨👏🏾

Najee had tunnel vision when it came to building up Echelon Express, but there was just something about Orielle that made him slow down and see her. Not just the star on stage—but the woman behind the voice, the hurt, and the hustle.

And let’s talk about my girl Orielle real quick… she got back up after being knocked down HARD and ran full speed toward her dreams. Watching her get in that studio and step into her light?? YES MA’AM! You deserve every moment of success.

Also… seeing Zahir pop up? Yes please! I missed my man, and I loved how BriAnn is building this interconnected world. It feels like family.

Was the situation complicated? Absolutely. But the healing, the growth, the slow burn?? Worth it. This is a story about choosing love after heartbreak, and I’m always gonna root for that.

If you’re looking for something emotional, healing, and full of that grown-up kind of love—this one’s for you.

Lost In Your Presence: Evermore Series Book 4

Orielle wrote love songs, Najee became the reason behind every one.

Orielle Summers is straddling the fence between two lives yoga instructor and singer/songwriter. Najee Drayton is a business owner who is trying to stay on the straight and narrow to avoid going back to prison.

All it takes is one night and the decision for Najee to protect Orielle for everything to change in the blink of an eye.

Najee might be Orielle’s cousins best friend. But he lets it be known that he ain’t trying to be like family or just her friend. Najee is 1 of 1 and ain’t gone be satisfied until Orielle is his woman.

When SZA said…”I’ll touch that fire for you
I do that three, four times again, I testify for you
I told that lie…” she was def singing about a 🥷🏾 like Najee Drayton 😮‍💨

My My My...Najee! The way this story took a turn in the beginning I was speechless. But When Najee came home, he got his act right. He showed RiRi what it was once he found out that things weren't what they seemed. The idea of I can show you better than I can tell you. I do however wish there was some information on what happened with Bobby's ass. He needed some type of Karma. Renae got hers 10 fold.

Heart felt

Lost in Your Presence is the kind of story that sneaks up on you, sits on your chest (gently), and refuses to leave once it's done. Najee? Yeah, that man has only been in the wild for a week and I’m just now finding the words to describe him. His presence, his patience, his peace—it’s giving grown man energy in every sense. And Orielle? Baby, she’s not just his match—she’s a whole force in her own right.

Briann Danae has done what so many series writers try and fumble—crafted four distinct characters whose stories intertwine without feeling forced. The characters live full, rich lives, and the connection between them is deeply human. Najee and Orielle’s love was gentle, supportive, and healing, like exhale-after-you’ve-been-holding-your-breath kind of love.

Their relationship is what happens when two people choose to do the work—for themselves and each other. No chaos, no performative softness—just real intimacy, grown healing, and two people choosing each other fully.

I could go on, but just know: Lost in Your Presence is not just a title. It’s a promise.

4.5/5
— BriAnn knows how to pen a man and I fall for them every time. Najee was a King that didn’t play about his Pretty Girl. Orielle understood her worth and wasn’t settling for anything less — Najee exceeded her energy.
— This book showcased betrayal, healing and healthy black love pursued with intention. They get active in the bedroom too. Lol

I give this a solid 4.5/5. Not a full 5 only because it did feel quite rushed between the FMC & MMC …even for a MAJOR hopeless romantic like myself😭

Anywho… Just like the previous books in the Evermore series; It’s nothing but enjoyment. I enjoyed Orielle and Najee but I also feel like they didn’t really get a chance build up to the last moments/epilogue (not trying to spoil too much).

BUTTTT at the same time if two ppl want to be any each others lives thennnnn hey time literally doesn’t matter😭

Idk idk but it was a nice quick read for the most part!

Najee😍

This was the perfect music romance with a touch of healing after heartbreak. The MMC and FMC went through so much, so seeing them fall for each other so effortlessly made my heart full. Loved it so much.

The overall story makes you want to love it but there was no depth to most of the story. Najee was a REAL man and his love for Orielle was beautiful. Would've loved to see their love story actually bloom. It seemed rushed together so I didn't get a chance to fall for them.

NAJEE & ORIELLE ❤️

I loved Najee and Oriielle's story. They were perfect together. Najee, protecting Orielle, showed the type of man he is. Neither had the best childhood, but they were determined to have the best life for themselves. Their growth together was amazing with a brighter future on the way.

Orielle and Najee the Blueprint !!!👌

Aghhhhhh I’m so sad it’s over I could read on this couple forever. This is by far my favorite book in the series and I was not disappointed. Najee and Orielle had some misfortunes alright with people doing them dirty and taking them for jokes. But they proved all of them time and time again their chemistry was undeniable and magnetic. Had me cheesing and hyping them up like a wing women 🤣🤣. They are part of the definition of black love and the etherealness that represents it. Just wow I’m so happy for them and I know their future will be grand.

I just wanted dusty Bobby to get seen again and get handled he got let off to easy after his disgraceful and disgusting audacity that he had. He and Crusty trifling Renae got what was coming to them. Those who don’t listen will feel. Every action has an outcome and lesson learned for sure !!

Briann you did your thing with this one and reading Kay C poems added such a topping to it from beginning to end on what you guys both write as meanings to love and what a woman deserves.

P.s. looking forward to the next book and my guess is either Najee sister orrrr Orielle’s girls.

Overall a very much enjoyed reading that will make you sit down decompress and dive into the world of black love ❤️

This book was everything I needed!

Starting off this review with this quote that really stuck with me from chapter 4, "What's for you is for you. The purpose of your life can't be stopped by the pain in your life. He gave you the vision for only your eyes to see, and it's set in stone. Trust Him." This is exactly why I will always love BriAnn’s books. The wisdom in her books always hit home. I really enjoyed this book from the love, the drama, the girlhood, to the way Najee and Orielle both put in the work for what they wanted. Najee and Orielle didn’t let life’s obstacles or their trifiling exes stop them from getting what they wanted for themselves, the definition of a power couple full of genuine love. I also loved how Renae was written in this book because it needs to be shown how a woman can fumble a good man too and the grass definitely was not greener on the other side. The way this book had me cackling and cheesing, I mean blushing so much as if I’m Orielle myself lol. I just love this series as a whole but Lost in Your Presence is definitely my favorite out of the 4. As someone who has read all of BriAnn’s books I really admire the way none of her books or characters feel exactly the same but are still her style of writing. Can’t wait to add this one to my bookshelf and for what’s next to come!

oh my gosh…my heart

What did I just read?! A book that was 10/10…ate and left no crumbs. Left me just in a puddle of emotions, the good ones though. I felt the love through the pages.

To be loved and cared for whole heartedly, intentionally, is what Najee gave to Orielle. Zahir has been my favorite but wow Najee took the cake. It was the intentionality for me!! The ability to fully see all of someone is what he did. He did not play. I was sad in the beginning because of how things ended up for him but I’m so happy that he didn’t let life get the best of him. Bobby you can kick rocks and step on some legos because you suck!! I’m glad that Orielle didn’t let the past define them other in the way of seeing where their relationship could go.

Orielle was strong and knew what she wanted. She struggled a bit but knew her worth and accepted nothing but the best for herself. Even from the book you could feel her calming energy. She gave Najee a peace that he’s always wanted. She made him work for it. She made him show her through actions. And if you didn’t know, he’s always about that action!!

Both found each other when the time was right. They elevated and encouraged each other. They were proud of each other. They knew how to properly love each other as adults. They communicated so well. Where one person lacked the other was there to step up. I have literal heart eyes from this book. It just made my soul happy. Got all the warm and fuzzies inside.

Orielle & Najee.. 🥰🥰🥰

I just feel so giddy & warm after finishing this.

Najee was so solid. He never played about his family, his business, nor his RiRi.
Orielle was my sugar pie, honey bunch. I just loved her vibes. I was so proud of her growing into her own. I was proud of both of them reaching their goals.

This couple was so delightful & just comforting. They kept me blushing. Even the early moments when they were respecting each other’s boundaries. I just felt the attraction and chemistry.
Then when they finally came together, it was so right. They were soft, secure places for each other.
I loved how their values and morals aligned. A great story can bring great drama. But I appreciate when the mess & stressors are external. There was conflict between the MCs & it didn’t affect their bond.
It was companionship, support, friendship, respect, reassurance, passion, maturity & love.
I enjoyed the artistic elements of poetry & music as well.

Whew… this one had me in my feelings.
Lost in Your Presence was smooth, sultry, and a little messy in the best way. Orielle and Najee’s connection wasn’t supposed to run this deep, but once it did. Baby, there was no turning back.

BriAnn Danae gave us heartbreak and healing, temptation and truth, all wrapped up in a vibe that felt like late-night R&B. Their chemistry was undeniable, even when it showed up at the worst possible time.
This story wasn’t about playing it safe, it was about choosing something real, even when it’s risky. And that kind of love? Whew… it lingers.

One line that stuck with me: “You glowed brighter when every piece of you was properly cared for by a real man.” Because yes, that’s exactly what Orielle deserved, and Najee knew it.

Out of the entire evermore series this book right here is hands down my favorite. Hell this one may be favorite Briann Danae book. There’s something about a good comeback story & Najee had a good comeback story & it’s even better because his “setback” wasn’t due to anything he necessarily did wrong. I also love witnessing/reading about an FMC who underestimates herself or downplays herself which happens unconsciously because that’s how life has trained her to operate only to meet a man that points out her greatness & hypes her up & helps her realize just how amazing she is that was Orielle. I loved this book from beginning to end.

BriAnn does it again!

I truly enjoyed this story. Najee is a man, okay! He knew what he wanted and didn’t let up. Seeing Orielle growth throughout the book was beautiful. Najee and Orielle both had difficult upbringings, but they didn’t let that keep them down. I’m usually a shorter book girly, but this book has me craving like 200 pages more of Najee and Orielle. The poems inside of the book were beautiful as well, and really stuck with me. I don’t want to give too much away, so make sure to check this book out!

If you read the third book in the evermore series you would of seen the two MC already. Najee best friend of Saleem and Orielle cousin of Saleem are familiar with each other due to Saleem.

In this book your gonna see some healing, a man who’s protective and couple who falls for each other organically.

Our yoga instructor/singer has had her heart broke and who better than to heal it but a fine a*% business man who will protect you at all times!

Look if you read this series who’s your favorite MMC cause I have no clue they are all so dope!! I love all of them !!!

Najee & Orielle was meant to be, their chemistry was undeniable 😍
I knew Najee was fresh out, but learning how he end up in there made me love him even more. Two people dealing with their heartbreak found comfort in each other and not in the rebound kind of way. that effortless kind of friendship and love is what i love to see, and Briann does that so well in this entire series.

A few times I got emotional, when he poured into her after the phone call with her mother, and that epilogue🥰

I love Najee’s story… and I’m so glad it didn’t take half the book to find out ol girl was trash.

Najee & Orielle were cute as hell.. I loved watching their story play out and I honestly love the similarities they had in their personal ambitions.

Loved the way he saw her… because to loved is to be what?! Oh okay. 😂👏🏽

If miss Briann don’t do nothing else she’s for sure gonna have me in my feelings & smiling at a book. At this point I need the Evermore series on my shelf. Expeditiously! 🫴🏽📖

I loved Najee even though at the beginning I didn’t know how this love connection was going to be made with all its complications but i’m glad there was a shift because hunny Orielle and Najee were made for each other. One thing that I loved about this book was that Orielle took time to heal on her own journey before Najee entered the picture which he only added more value, more love, more patience and development what had already become the foundation of what they shared so beautifully… I loved this series and I’m sad it over hopefully we get a glimpse of all our favorite couples

lost in your presence

I hate the character Renée. I don’t think I’ve ever met a Renée that was pretty on the inside or the outside, and she definitely lived up to the name. That being said, this book had a really good ending. I loved how he actually listened to her, showed up for her, and gave her everything she wanted emotionally and otherwise. It really drives home the point that when someone is meant to be in your life, you’ll always circle back to each other, no matter the situation, no matter the timing, and no matter who else gets in the way.

A cute, quick read. While not my favorite in the series, I still enjoyed it. I love how BriAnn Danae often writes successful Black entrepreneurs, as seen with Najee and Orielle, and how she highlighted a nonprofit supporting women in domestic violence situations. These elements were just as engaging as the romance itself, which I wish had been developed a bit more on page. Overall, a good read.

I See You

4.5: Absolutely enjoyed this series. This is such a feel good story. it reminds us what God has for you is for you. While we experience some heartache and/or pain along the way, God is always working to direct our steps. We can’t grow without change. Pain is often the accelerant to change. Thank you for such a heartfelt story and encouraging us to follow our gifts and passions.
